@ArtificialLifef0rm Thanks (: I was amazingly surprised how easy it was. I've just set the multiplier to 20x and raised the voltage a bit and it worked. Also it is amazingly stable 24/7 no problem (:

Jesus! Those temps are awesome for 4ghz on air especially with a power guzzling monster like thuban. Just one question, why does it display 1.3v on that monitoring utility, shouldn't it be 1.425?
i ment cold air blowing out my exhaust fans i now i have a standard cpu fan but my case has 3 120mm fans blowing out and a 220mm fan pulling in is this ok to keep like that

@Jamaicangmr1 so it very depends of what task you are running. But can i have one more question do you have nv or geforce card? I know as i said that physX gives the CPU a lot of points. So if you do please disable physX and show the score because i am intrested to see what is the score then.

Ah i have to admit one thing I've looked wrong at your video i was sure for all of that time that it was a GPU score not a CPU, and well sorry 4 a little flame (to much fanboys on comments and I am a bit Sick of it and a bit allergic for it) I just noticed that when i fired up my 3dmark Vantage.
Well yea this might be caused because you have 8 threads. Mine are is pure 6 without HT. But mine cpu is better in things like video encoding also it is faster in cinebench
I'm getting 50,000+ easy on my stock 3.07GHz Intel Core i7 memory at Vengeance @ 1866MHz. When i clock my CPU to 3.6GHz RAM at 2240MHz i get 60,000+. :D

@ZastrzykHD but still you have it overclocked at 4 ghz and i have it at stock i have not begun to over clock it yet il try the feature disabled just to see what i get
i have the amd phenom II 1100t.. i can only get a stable 4ghz with my voltage at 1.6v.. i immediatly changed it.. atm im at 3.8ghz with 38c loads... could it be just my motherboard is not all that great anymore? Any recommendations
Ok, so this morning I overclocked my 1090T to 4ghz with scythe mugen revB my temps rise from 28 to 31 in iddle and from 34 to 38-40 in full load. I only set multiplier to 20x and core voltage to 1.485. Everything is stable. Great CPU and great cooler i must say:-)
Strange I have only trial version of 3d mark vantage and with my stocked AMD phenom II x6 1090t and stocked Amd 6870 my score is 12120P... what the hell is wrong?
@Jakemogensen I see that this motherboard is peaty basic one. It is not designed for overclocking. I see it has 4 pin cpu power connector so probably the cpu can't get enough power also the power section can be the problem so the answer is yes it is probably your motherboard. You should get something more hi-end
@Jakemogensen Most likely, ur cooler isn't heavy enough. What do u have? Stock cooler? Try the Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B (45 USD). You could also go for closed loop watercooling, for example Corsair H60 (65 USD). Overclocking should work fine on this board. Just adjust the multiplier and the CPU overvoltage.
Nice overclock but i should say go to another motherboard to get the most stable out of it ;) Atleast a motherboard that has been design for overclocking like a Msi 790fx-gd70 what im using or another ofc ;)
Im currently running with this:
Phenom ii x6 1090t 4ghz 1,52v (still trying lower but i have watercooling so :)
@Flightkid9 you didnt, but in the video it shows that the FPS is the same, here I think I understand now, OCing the CPU wont help if there is a bottleneck, is what I am thinking.
@assaulth3ro911 Well 1'st two tests are GPU ONLY? And next 2 are CPU ONLY? Look at the cpu test and down in the white bar at IOPS. quite a difference.
@assaulth3ro911 yes that is nist likely the issue here, you could have an insaneky over locked CPU but unless you gpu can keep up, you won't see an increase or else only up to the point where the gpu cannot keep up.
@Flightkid9 yea, i found out that my CPU (the 1090T i ordered) not have worked properly with my mobo because of overheating problems, so i had to switch it out with a Phenom II x4 945 3.0GHZ :'(
and I have 4gb DDR3 1333mhz RAM, as well as a 4870 512mb, any bottlenecks here? and do I have room for OCing my GPU or CPU?
@assaulth3ro911 your graphics card will definetly be a bit of a bottle neck but you should be able to overclock it a bit to help with that and you can definetly overclock your cpu a fair amount. You might also be able to over lock your ram slightly if you motherboard supports faster, but that csn be a little more picky over locking so I'd probably leave the ram along, 1333 is fine
@Flightkid9 Okay but why in Combat Arms (maxed out 8x AA) its completely smooth, then it chugs a bit then keeps going? driver issue? my cpu is at 15-20% so my CPU is performing fine I believe.
@assaulth3ro911 15-20%? that's extremely low for playing games, I think it might be your gpu, it only had 512mb of vram which is pretty low, it might be that your gpu is maxing out and bottlenecking your cpu keeping it at a low workload adn with only 512mb of vram if might be running out of vram after awhile making it slow down. You could try updating or re-installing your drivers though too, you can't really do any harm by doing that.
@assaulth3ro911 Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B is very good (have it myself) It's 45-50 USD. For something like 65 USD, it's best to buy a corsair H60 Closed Circuit CPU watercooling system. With that, you can overclock to over 4,5GHz. By the way, what motherboard do you have? 8-pins CPU power?
@Opelfreakie I have Scythe Mugen 2 rev. B too:-) Great cooler. From what I read the Corsair H60 cools a little worster than Noctua NHD14. So I would say that Noctua NHD14 is best option before you go for full water cooling system.
@johnrehak I have seen the NHD14, but it's more expensive than the H60. Also, the H60 is virtually quiet. I have also seen great overclocking results with the H60. No offense, but I'd go for the H60.
@TheRogueMonk no, get a 1090T. Both are unlocked, so a little overclocking will raise the 1090T to 1100T level. Anywayz, the Phenoms are getting really cheap now:-)
@MrPhenomIIx6 BTW it it free to download because Trash80 makes the music and he is uploading his songs 4 free on his blog here: trash80.net check him out (:
OK someone please explain. i have used all these combos with the multiplier and voltage......everything. but for some reason anything over 3.8ghz i get Blue screen of death. anyone?? please?? its driving me nuts! my memory mhz is 1333. i keep it under 1333 actually. my psu is 650 watts. plenty of power. please help me!
I Have a question for you. I have a system on the way with a 1090T processor 8GB 1600MHz RAM
4 big case fans and an okay water cool system
I want to OC this only about 20% to between 3.8GHz and 3.9 If I only use the BIOS multipliers and don't over volt, do you think the life of the processor would go down? I know it would probably stay cool enough and be stable but would it lasts as long? And I have no interest in going to 4GHz or over volting anyway. Thanks for an answer
@rashin there may not be a huge difference in games, but in encoding vids and unpacking .rar files it will be faster - also you can see the difference in the CPU calculation tests near the end of the vid, the overclocked cpu actually moves onto the next task before the stock speed cpu has finished, quite impressive.

@TheXtremeGamer90 Relax that was just a joke. I see you have 1100 t so a black edition cpu so increase only the multiplier leave the bus speed alone and test it if it is stable. 20x is the multiplier for 4GHz
@TheXtremeGamer90 There are three ways to OC a CPU like the black edition CPU -- strictly by the multiplier, like shown in the video (20x multi with 200 MHz bus = 4000 MHz or 4 GHz CPU). The second way is by the base (no multiplier), in which case 14 and 286 would get you there. Care has to be taken via the bus only method because you also clock up all other devices that use this system clock, including the memory and HT link. You could also do a combo of both multi and bus.
@TheXtremeGamer90 three ways to oc... multiplier only, bus clock only, or combo of both. No matter what you do, voltage is likely key to get high clocks. Too much, fry your CPU. Be careful. Your 286 bus speed likely cause the HT or DRAM to overshoot their stable over clock, try lowering HT multiplier and DRAM divider. This is usually the best way to stablize a high OC assume your CPU is good enough.
@marvindrake Mass Effect 2 - Club Eternity Mass Effect 2 HQ Music - Club Eternity you can try to find it on the Internet but if you cant download a program "Free youtube to mp3 converter" don't be afraid of using it if the video sound quality is nice well the converted video to mp3 quality will be nice (:
@ZastrzykHD oh man, you are a legend. Thanks dude! also, that was an awrsome vid - im off to buy my 1090t today so i dont bottleneck my 2x 5870's (old x4 945 not cutting it) cheers man.
@TheHalflife123 So you haven't watched the video carefully i said Overdrive is not showing the voltage correctly. The voltage is 1,425v but it runs stable at 1,4 on 4 GHz. Well i gues you have a bad luck with the CPU or your motherboard is week
You were able to keep it stable with the CPU voltage only set to 1.425v? I've seen lots of people recommending 1.44v-1.45v. The differences in the time it takes to complete the benchmarks is pretty impressive!
@Herooftheday64 Yea as i said in the video i was able to run it on 1,4 v fully stable. But just to be safe i am using 1,425. BTW the OC and the new cpu Rulez :P^^
thank u ! runs fine.

Flightkid9 8 months ago
@Flightkid9 yea, i found out that my CPU (the 1090T i ordered) not have worked properly with my mobo because of overheating problems, so i had to switch it out with a Phenom II x4 945 3.0GHZ :'(
and I have 4gb DDR3 1333mhz RAM, as well as a 4870 512mb, any bottlenecks here? and do I have room for OCing my GPU or CPU?
assaulth3ro911 8 months ago
@assaulth3ro911 your graphics card will definetly be a bit of a bottle neck but you should be able to overclock it a bit to help with that and you can definetly overclock your cpu a fair amount. You might also be able to over lock your ram slightly if you motherboard supports faster, but that csn be a little more picky over locking so I'd probably leave the ram along, 1333 is fine
Flightkid9 8 months ago
@Flightkid9 Okay but why in Combat Arms (maxed out 8x AA) its completely smooth, then it chugs a bit then keeps going? driver issue? my cpu is at 15-20% so my CPU is performing fine I believe.
assaulth3ro911 8 months ago
@assaulth3ro911 15-20%? that's extremely low for playing games, I think it might be your gpu, it only had 512mb of vram which is pretty low, it might be that your gpu is maxing out and bottlenecking your cpu keeping it at a low workload adn with only 512mb of vram if might be running out of vram after awhile making it slow down. You could try updating or re-installing your drivers though too, you can't really do any harm by doing that.

@Flightkid9 I installed the drivers Thursday or was it Friday (I built this on Thursday)

@Opelfreakie right, any suggestions?
assaulth3ro911 8 months ago
@assaulth3ro911 Scythe Mugen 2 Rev. B is very good (have it myself) It's 45-50 USD. For something like 65 USD, it's best to buy a corsair H60 Closed Circuit CPU watercooling system. With that, you can overclock to over 4,5GHz. By the way, what motherboard do you have? 8-pins CPU power?
Opelfreakie 8 months ago
@Opelfreakie I have Scythe Mugen 2 rev. B too:-) Great cooler. From what I read the Corsair H60 cools a little worster than Noctua NHD14. So I would say that Noctua NHD14 is best option before you go for full water cooling system.
johnrehak 8 months ago
@johnrehak I have seen the NHD14, but it's more expensive than the H60. Also, the H60 is virtually quiet. I have also seen great overclocking results with the H60. No offense, but I'd go for the H60.

is it worth paying the extra for hte pehnom 110t?
TheRogueMonk 10 months ago
@TheRogueMonk no, get a 1090T. Both are unlocked, so a little overclocking will raise the 1090T to 1100T level. Anywayz, the Phenoms are getting really cheap now:-)

Thanks for an answer
warriorxtman 1 year ago
I don't see a difference.
rashin 1 year ago
@rashin there may not be a huge difference in games, but in encoding vids and unpacking .rar files it will be faster - also you can see the difference in the CPU calculation tests near the end of the vid, the overclocked cpu actually moves onto the next task before the stock speed cpu has finished, quite impressive.

Wybrac jakies bardziej detaliczne samochody ktore niszcza sie bardziej szczegolowo. Z gory dzieki! licze na odpowiedz

Wtf! Plz help i set multiplier to 14! The bus speed to 286 and cpu voltage to 1.45!
TheXtremeGamer90 1 year ago
@TheXtremeGamer90 Relax that was just a joke. I see you have 1100 t so a black edition cpu so increase only the multiplier leave the bus speed alone and test it if it is stable. 20x is the multiplier for 4GHz
ZastrzykHD 1 year ago
@ZastrzykHD ok sorry for this previusly! And thanks!
TheXtremeGamer90 1 year ago
@TheXtremeGamer90 There are three ways to OC a CPU like the black edition CPU -- strictly by the multiplier, like shown in the video (20x multi with 200 MHz bus = 4000 MHz or 4 GHz CPU). The second way is by the base (no multiplier), in which case 14 and 286 would get you there. Care has to be taken via the bus only method because you also clock up all other devices that use this system clock, including the memory and HT link. You could also do a combo of both multi and bus.
JumpingJack6 1 year ago
@TheXtremeGamer90 three ways to oc... multiplier only, bus clock only, or combo of both. No matter what you do, voltage is likely key to get high clocks. Too much, fry your CPU. Be careful. Your 286 bus speed likely cause the HT or DRAM to overshoot their stable over clock, try lowering HT multiplier and DRAM divider. This is usually the best way to stablize a high OC assume your CPU is good enough.

my amd 1090 its not stable even 20x200 and 1.45v so i have to ask: HOW TO HELL IT CAN BE STABLE AT 1.3 VOLTS???
TheHalflife123 1 year ago
@TheHalflife123 So you haven't watched the video carefully i said Overdrive is not showing the voltage correctly. The voltage is 1,425v but it runs stable at 1,4 on 4 GHz. Well i gues you have a bad luck with the CPU or your motherboard is week
ZastrzykHD 1 year ago
I know that feeling. I'll never worry about my memory being at 1333 it's fine.

what motherboard of gigabyte, cause i am aiming to buy a gigabyte AM3+ board.
I want to be sure to buy a correct one for overclocking.
SynodCenturion 1 year ago
Try my recipe:
CPU ratio 14 x 287
CPU Voltage 1.45v (manual)
DRAM 1566+
Prime95: 3hours stable on blend
Cheers!
hanscool26 1 year ago
You were able to keep it stable with the CPU voltage only set to 1.425v? I've seen lots of people recommending 1.44v-1.45v. The differences in the time it takes to complete the benchmarks is pretty impressive!
Herooftheday64 1 year ago
@Herooftheday64 Yea as i said in the video i was able to run it on 1,4 v fully stable. But just to be safe i am using 1,425. BTW the OC and the new cpu Rulez :P^^
