  • Imagine watching porn with this!

  • HOLY SHIT!

  • Sure, with 2D televisions, only one person can view it. Sony developed a 3D tv where 2 players can play a game in 3d while only seeing THEIR screen. Maybe 2 sensors plus mods on this tv can equal two perspectives.

  • ur video have inspired sum software makers and they made online webcam heaad tracking games and even mentioned u johnny lee... just type online webcam games in google and click the newgrounds one click the first game then in the instructions it will cum.

  • Cool

  • MAn this is sick! Soon has my sister comes back with my wii ima have to try this!

  • @NiLLoC223 based on your typing and spelling you have zero changes of getting this to work

  • i know this is my 3rd coment, but you dont realize what you have done, my farther wheres glasses and cause of this he has never experianced 3D TV, however thanks to your amazing idea, my dad is blown away, people thumbs up this guy, hes AMAZING!

  • does the IR LEDS have to be red? cause i have 2 blue ones, someone PLEASE REPLY, THX

  • @PDFeFiles Infrared light is infrared. The human eye can't see the light emitted from it either way. It shows up red on color cameras picking up the light, but you can't see it without it. It has to be infrared (or extremely bright), or the Wiimote won't see it. (And I've taken a couple TV remotes apart that use infrared LEDs, I remember those were clear looking, but I could be wrong.)

  • YOU R AMAZING, @4CODE they better

  • Mind is blown! Damn asian man you a genius!

  • You notice something? This is something that was done nearly five years ago, something ONE person did at home. Then you have well over THOUSANDS of people in gaming companies (maybe millions, I'm not sure how big those companies are). You're telling me in five years, not a single one of them could've seen this video or at least thought of the idea of it? This has a lot better potential than typical stereo-vision 3D that's been around for well over 50 years, yet no one has used it. WTF.

  • @AwesomestSauceEver

Microsoft saw it and hired him. He helped create Kinect.

  • @Higgledypiggle1 I mean no big game developers have used this idea, one-player perspective changing. Not used in any Wii or XBox Kinnect games I've seen.

  • Holy sh--

  • figures, hes asin.

  • fred fred burger

  • look at 3:52 lol :D

  • God damnit

All this shitty 3D "technology" every media company is pushing nowadays is nothing different from the shit you saw 20 years ago. It's hardly improved at all. THIS is true 3D, this is the kind of technology I had expected the 3DS to use. In all honesty, this is the kind of tech the 3DS SHOULD have used.

  • What if you were to attach the wii remote to the tv, let someone hold the sensor bar and another person move the tv (and thus also the remove) to the left and right? Would that create the same effect for the person holding the sensor bar (and thus standing still)?

  • /watch?v=vPg8yxKwLbU

Xbox 360 emulator for pc 100% works

  • omg - just read about this in wired - way cooler than i could have imagined

  • Don't know why they don't do this with Kinect :[

  • I swear your the dude from harold and kumar at that party...

  • They look like bullets :P

  • I've seen this video a while ago, I'm thinking maybe the new wii could have this and also using along side with stereoscopic 3D this would be very interesting. Which would bring 3D TV more into the mainstream

  • fuck the 3DS

  • Wow tutorial please!!

  • Lol nintendo needs to snatch you up

  • Wow this is epic

  • So wait a second....

If, thanks to Johnny, we can now view 3 dimensions on a 2D surface.... will be ever be able to see 4 dimensions in a 3D space?

  • I have seen this done with just regular head tracking and face detection CV algorithms that look for the angle of the face; yet, with IR detection, it obviously responds very quickly, and more accurately. I remember back in 2006 we would just mod a webcam, and put IR reflective tape on glasses to get the same effect; thus, there is really no need for a Wii remote.

  • Dude. Well Done.

  • WOW!!!

  • You are awesome dude!

  • Genius

  • Thank you sire :)

  • un chino gordo o_O

  • Lol companies spend millions on this technology, you buy a wii remote and sensor bar for 15$

  • and so, the Nintendo 3DS was born :)

  • If you wrote a book about all the projects you made, you'd make millions.

  • could you use a head tracking webcam for this?????

  • That's amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • where can i get this for mac

  • where can i get this for mac

  • Awesome work displayed here!!!

  • What if i used An Xbox Kinect instead of the Wii Remote And Sensor Bar... or Regular Camera for that matter.

  • revolutionary }:}

  • Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft should be offering blank cheques to employ this guy

  • Well done!

  • This invention is not meaningful to the society we live in, but still I must tell you, you're awesome for thinking of it and making it happen.

  • This is way better than nowadays 3D!!! imagine both combined!!!

  • This is the future of video games, entertainment in general, making of visual projects, etc.. You are ahead of our time using creatively today's tools. Full respect!

  • Hi ho Kermit dee frog

  • you should be rich, RICH i tell ya!

  • Amazing use of todays tech to put together tomorrows experience. Why is this not mass market/coming to market? Truly impressive work.....

  • @WeAreTMPG this would ruin the 3D television industry and, gods forbid it, make #D effects actually worth something and not just cheap tricks

  • @Graavigala85 HA! And we wouldnt want to ruin the 3D television industry would we? Who needs innovations we can just resort to cheap camera tricks and foolish use of a gimmick lol. Its unfortunate that we will likely never see tech like this in the mainstream any time soon, at least in the forseeable future....

  • @WeAreTMPG

    Kinect + 3D TV = VR

    watch?v=2MX1RinEXUM

  • Awesome! I love your voice!

  • My name is jonny chrung ree

  • 64bit not available

  • how did u connect te wii remote to te pc?

  • well I can say this much, my mind has just been blown.

someone needs to make games for this.

  • Nowadays with 3d glasses you can make it so two people can see two different screens on the same TV. That should allow for two people to be able to do this on the same TV as well, just filter out each others images through the glasses.

  • Amazing

  • cool keep up the projects, i hope nintendo contacts you

  • NINTENDO HAVE TO CONTRACT YOU NOWWWWW !!!!

  • @4CODE No, IMF has already contracted him

  • @4CODE He is already hired by Microsoft. Thats how they come up with kinect :)

  • Will this work for the mac or linux?

  • Absolutely amazing, nice work!

  • I want an nVidia 3D vision kit with this technology built in!

  • notice how he is asain and he is doing a wii remote lol

  • Do i need Wirless sensor or sensor hooked up with wii

  • Why has no one done this with the Kinect? It already does head tracking...

  • GO FUCKING WORK FOR NINTENDO ALREADY!!! GODDAMNIT INTEGRATE THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW!!!

  • @mukraf you said he should take over like now

  • cool

  • W-O-W.... U BLEW MY MIND!!! amazing how without glasses i was able to see the 3d effect!!...man u shud work for miyamoto!!!

  • ehm I`m good looking babe

  • This guy is CLEARLY not paid enough.

  • nice cello in the back. nice video.

  • nice one thats cool ideas mate.

theres not a 3d wii game yet maybe one day.

  • kinects and mircosoft are just now working together to make add-ons for the PC

  • yo thats so cool

  • thumbs up if you searched using

  • Now, while this IS awesome, how would it work when combined with 3D TVs? :)

  • i'm not a pro, i think there is a big problem of this technology.

it seems that a screen can only serve one head, am I right??

  • @Shane060813 You're right, it can't serve multiple heads, but I don't know if it is a big problem, after all you'd probably be using it with some interactive media like computer games which you'd normally only have one person at a time playing on one monitor anyway.

  • man why do we have to download the software

  • @MnVRocks well can you figure it out yourself like him? lol

  • Is this essentially track IR but with a wii/cheap solution?

  • Thanks to this dude the Nintendo 3DS was born!

  • @EdwardTheTechGeek but he works at microsoft....

  • Check out: goo.gl\oUcPQ and win new Nintendo 3DS Console.

  • justr ùma

  • it looked like the tv was a deep box with things in.. xD AWESOMe!!!!!!

  • Go Make some money you damn genius!

  • hiya sesy girl with a nice personality kiss

  • amazing!!!

    cool

    what's the game's name?

  • AAAAAMAAAAAAAAZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!

  • I never thought I'd say this, but I want to play CoD using this technology.

  • do you need to buy a wii just to get the remote and the sensor bar? or do they sell them separably?

  • @jhurst111 you can buy the wiimote separately and make your own sensor bar with 2 IR leds just like I did

I grabbed the ir leds off two old remotes and wired them to 2x1.5v AAA batteries each, also cut the battery "compartiment" from the remotes and lodged the leds on top of them

  • Can you actually make a video on how to get this set up?

  • This convinces me that we don't really need all this modern 3D technology. Somehow capturing the entirety of a movie's scene and controlling it with head tracking would already do so much of the work that modern 3D technology supposedly does.

Of course, a combo of the two would be best. Head-tracked two-imaged 3D technology. But I'm sure this won't be enjoyable by more than 1 person unless the screen is inside the glasses themselves.

  • @DaVince21 Get informed or shut up.

  • @Primarkka Don't be an asshat or shut up.

  • Enter: goo.gl\kLPdk to get Nintendo 3DS.

  • who else got bored and typed "this"?

  • How difficult would it be to alter the image from your demo to a picture I took myself? Too give the illusion that a person is looking out my window in my backyard when infancy they are looking at my tv screen?

  • Could we combine this with other technologies such as actual 3D displays to create even more depth?

  • what sort of witchcraft is this

  • You're amazing. :) Stay smart and awesome.

  • you are very respected guy and i like the way you explaining .. keep up

  • Thats cool

  • Mircosoft stole this and made it's Kinect.

  • well done dude, dats dope

  • I'm sure 3d wii is.in development if not ALREADY being enjoyed by japanese kids bc they have.everything way before everyone else

  • They ended up hiring this guy to work on the Xbox Kinect

  • thats class

  • Has anyone tried doing this themselves yet, I mean the video is almost 4 years old

  • shouldn't you be able to build a trackable virtual tv studio with this tech? With a guy standing in front of a greenscreen, adding a live keyer and then use the wii to track the movement of the camera, for the virtual background.

  • Participate: goo.gl\k55ge and win iPhone 5.

  • OK did you get hired for a job or something? cuz I feel like I'm going to be seeing this in the future and you're going to get lot's of money for this O.O

  • BUT wait a minute?! Dont you need a special 3d TV to do that?! If not then this is AWESOME, I think it even looks better than other 3D effects like the ones in movies withouth wearing special glasses!

  • I saw you (Johnny Lee) on TED. So, to few childish comments below that this is fake,...no this is not fake. It's so awesome to see someone taking an everyday object and turn it into something much more! Keep up your creativity, and I'm sure your ideas will be mass produced soon. I'll be following you on the net closely; you're an inspiration. Thanks!!
