  • Tempted to save for one of these or go out now and get myself a 1:12th scale silverlit...

  • did this product available at malaysia?

  • do these bikes ahve motoers or is it electric

  • @Desawa82 So does the Novak three-80 fit without modding?

  • Does the Novak three-80 motor fit the GPV-1 without modification to the chassis? I want sensored power in my bike

  • 1:00 race car???

  • I have this product bu I don´t work brake disc, can you help me?

  • Is there going to be a 1/8th scale race for these bikes, because I have looked at the BRCA and there is no information about races or Championships?

  • The 1/8th bikes have been included for the BRCA National series and a couple of Grand Prix but numbers have dwindled so it was dropped this year. What we need is local pockets of 1/8 bike racers to support local club races and get interest going again. We raced at Bedworth a few times over he summer season, it was great fun!

  • Does this kit come ready to run with out all the upgrades?how's this bike compared to the kyosho bike? I'm seriously lookin at gettin one. They seem like slot of fun

  • That's badd ass

  • i unset to have one of those i drove it in to a drain and broke it ooppssssss

  • Que lástima ponerle sonido de motos que nada tienen que ver, aun la música vale, pero lo de las motos.....

  • Well these electric bikes do not make any noise so yes, I put music over it, sorry.

  • For those who are afraid to ride the real bikes with balls...granted, they are the coolest TOY I have ever seen

  • Most of us ride or race real bikes too, these are just a lot easier to work on and a lot cheaper to crash ;-)

  • @Desawa82 And they lack trips to the hospital and months of recovery time

  • Bcuz christmas is coming up & i want this thing & i want it 2 go fast & i wanna tell the the upgrades

  • Do u have upgrades on it or is it stock? How fast does it go stock? If its upgraded Wat r the parts & where u get them From?

  • See the Venom web site or google GPV-1 for all the option parts, mainly for strength, plenty fast enough, but can handle much faster motors, so long as you go for the softer tyres!

  • @Desawa82 Wat kind of engine do u have?

  • the motor in the GPV-12 is a little brushed item as standard, plenty good enough to get you going, the GT14 motor is a ballistic upgrade, but most went brushless with a 5,000Kv sensorless 1/18th system, like the Mongoose 13.5T or EZrun 18T combo

  • @Desawa82 K & where can iget the Mongoose 13.5T at? where specifficaly did u get it from

  • CML Distribution are the Novak distributor in the UK and their outlets can order anything they don't have in stock, easy.

  • how dothey brake

  • WHERE CAN I GET THIS AWESOME THING....???

  • @cityofrock If you google Venom GPV-1 or 1/8th bike on ebay you'll see them and find your local stockist or one that will be able to deal with you by post. CML are the UK distributor, but shops like Formby Models specialise in RC Bikes and do world wide postage, hope that helps.

  • @Desawa82 thanks so much..im getting one...

  • how much for one? and what is the size of it?

  • @mongdex Under £200 RTR with all you need to get going, less for second hand.

It's 1/8th scale, so tyres are about 85mm diameter.

  • so um just wandering but how fast do u thnk they go they look kinda fast so just wandering

  • @shayne2smakula My little bike makes over 35mph (56kph) and that's plenty fast I can tell you!

  • @Desawa82 mine does over 150 mph

  • Was it easy to fit the novak mongoose kit into the bike or did you have to cut some plastics, etc?

    Thanks

  • @gabolauren It went in place of the kit receiver, which I swapped out for a micro Spektrum unit up in the tail piece, otherweise straight forward brushless conversion..

  • These little bikes are not easy to steer or keep upright...i have become very frustrated with mine....it needs a lot of open space as the speed keeps it upright....there is no slow driving here......the DURATRAX brushless bike with rear wheel Gyro is a better option...much more expensive, but well worth the money i would say..

  • hello! how do I find a model so 'beautiful? and how much to spend? thanks!

  • How they stay up :S ?

  • you shuodl race this thing against molasses in January, that would be one hell of a race.

  • I would have relishedt he chance! Our National Series starts next week and the 12/8th bikes havet heir own class alongside 1/5th bikes . sidecars and MotoCross Supermotard etc. Can't wait!

  • Hello .. i find yur uploads interesting .. i may B interested in purchasing such a product .. U seem 2 have knowledge of the product .. i will have 2 c product availabiity in canada .. once i make the purchase .. what set-up and/or modification would U suggest or recommend .. Regards !

  • Hi, interesting login name ;-)

Once you find a bike, just search the web R/C bike/car forums and you'll soon find lots of like minded people and see the mods they've made to get them going even better.

  • they look like fun :)

  • What gearing did you use for your Mongoose 13.5?

  • Kit gearing, though the motor has a different diameter shaft so needed novak pinions. Way fast on a 13.5 though, serious wheelies!

  • nice driving

  • are these bike any good thinking of buying one

  • With a couple of tweaks they are brilliant, need a smooth clean road, a proper race track, the bigger bikes can cope with use in the street better.

  • thinking of buying one of these were do you race and how long do the batters last, great vid by the way

  • The 1/8th bikes have been accepted into the BRC Nationals for 2010 so they will be raced at the proper tracks all over Britain this year.

  • Did colleague you manage to put the brake to the disk in this your motorcycle r/c?

it´s difficult? I have one motocycle igual to this video, but I did not manage to install the brake to the disk. do you manage?

  • Yes I got the option Venom brake kit fitted and it works very well, small parts so al ittle tricky to build, but take your time.

  • My kit has gone bad, I pasted the brake pads on but they are still installed, I did as the manual and checked and still has problem, you could tell me if each pair of brake should be taken only one tablet stuck?

  • Sorry you lost me there a bit. I glued the brake pads on with one drip of CA on each backing pad and it all went together and worked nicely straight off, all be it a little bit fidly to set up being so small.

  • Im going to buy it, I would ask just 2 things.

Does it break often? or it is a resistant model.

When u steer at right it goes right or left? .. ' :)

    thank you

  • There are a few things to do to get it just right, like any RTR model, needs work to make it race worthy and a few upgrades to make it riobust, but overall it's a great bike. You turn left it steers right but turns left. Get it, countersteering built in.

  • Thank you for your answer! very clear.

  • thats really impressive how fast youve got it going round there dez! i should recieve mine in a few days :-)

  • So you gonna polish it or use it Mark, come on join in the Cotswolds GP and use it for what it was intended, racing!

Just be sure to follow my hints and tips thread on RC Groups to get the best from it!

  • i would polish it but its black plastic so i cant lol.

i do want to race again soon, im hoping to get a anderson m5 too for that purpose aswell :-)

ive already read the tips page on rc groups and read ur reports in rrci, gonna get some hopups and a clear body so i can do a rep of my daytona 675 :-)

    whens the next cotswolds meet?

  • Well you can race both the venom and the M5 Cross at the Cotswolds GP Oct 17/18th mate, classes for every type of rc bike, and sidecars!

  • that would be brilliant dez, im hoping to get a brushless system for the venom this week, what one is the best to go for?

the mtroniks one looks a good little setup?

  • Yeah the Mtroniks is spot on, otherwise go for a system with a 5000kv motor which is plenty fast enough on 2S LiPo.

Just watch the shaft, kit is 2mm, the venom option is 2.3mm so needs different pinions.

  • thanks dez ill get a mtroniks ordered for it,

gettin really excited now! gonna make some titanium spacers and body posts plus a few other bits and pieces :-)

  • Hi, nice vid!

With this bike you can also go "slow" ???

Do you think can I play also in a 5 x 5 meters.. or I need much more space???

  • Well it is a race bike. It needs to get upto speed to work properly so a 5 metre square won't be enough room, we ran it on a carpet track indoors laid out on 25 metres by 20 metres and it was only just enough room really and needed to be bigger to get the best out of them.

  • Ok, thxs for help!

    ;)

  • Does any 1 know where to get some tech tips on these bikes?

  • I've sent you a message, there are some forums we use for RC bikes and I've created some tech thread on there to help.

  • are these bikes chain driver?

  • Yes, proper chain and sprocket set, proper steering, proper suspension, a real bike in 1/8th scale, superb!

  • Wat website did you buy your bike from?

  • If you are in the UK check out the CML website for outlets, for rest of world check the Venom RC web site.

  • it only drive 2 wheel rite?

  • They have only two wheels and only drive the rear via a chain and sprocket set, just like the real thing.

  • Excellent driving! I'm having trouble finding parts for these. Where do you purchase upgrades?

  • if you are in the UK see the CML web site for a list of outlets, for rest of world google it or go direct to Venom web site for details.

  • Whats the top speed on that?

  • The RTR kit bike was doing a reasonable 25mph, with a brushless motor and LiPo it'll do nearer 40mph but much more than that and the tyres grow too much and rub suspension and mudguards etc.

  • You can buy it with a brushless motor or,would you have to upgrade it yourself?

  • It comes RTR with a brushed motor and is more than enough to learn with, and then when you are winning stock class races you can think about stepping upto a brushless combo, front brakes and alloy option parts.

  • Alright

Now all I have to do is buy this and find a track..We dont really have a good track for r/c stuff in AL..Well let me search..Everybody always say go To GA or to other states..I hate AL..lol

  • Then just tape them.. No ballooning anymore!

  • If your tyres are balloning too much you are using a motor that is too fast. Cut the shock rod ball joint to match the swing arm and remove the rear mudguard. That helps too.

  • Nice vid, how much are one of these bikes to buy??

  • In the UK the Ready To Run Venom GPV-1 is around the £170 mark, complete with everything you need to get going. There are a few mods to do and upgrades, but it's all good!

  • are these hard to drive

  • no, just takes practise!

  • Ive made some adjustments to the rake and adjusted the pivot ball position to the outer hole. I'll go on a better surface tuesday to see if it fares any better.

What batterys do you recommend and maybe a better motor. Id like to wheely the crap outer this thing for my videos.

  • Get a 1700mAh LiPo and a 5000kv brushless system if you want wheelies, but serioussly, you will start to break things! Ask me how I know ;-)

  • Cool, went out before and tested on some better tarmac, worked at lot better still trying to get use to controlling it. Do you think a heavier nitro 1/5th bike would be easier to handle and be more stable.

Uploading a vid of my test as i speak.

  • Good clean smooth surface is the key, same with 1/5th bikes. Look forward to your video!

  • Ran it today and it was a disaster, couldn't get it to stay upright. The surface was crap though, rough and full of debris. I found out one of the front forks was loose and loosing oil, then noticed the pinion was in the wrong position and rubbing against the body, no thread lock on the grub screw.

  • You need a large clean and smooth surface. The road is too rough, most car parks are too dusty/gritty, a race track is perfect!

  • Ive not even had it running yet. I'm going to replace the connectors with jst connectors if they can handle the current, these are a lot smaller. The white original ones are to big for such a small amount of space. Wheres the best place to get alloy parts?

  • Yeah I run 3.5mm golkd tube connectors on all my 1/18th cars and 1/8th bikes, gives you more options, and more efficient.

If you are in the UK try Formby Models for postal service, or visit your local CML stockist.

  • Forgive me if you're upset. I am blunt and right to the point. And stand by my opinions. What i pointed out is correct, some of it is badly desiged and put together regarding the position of the battery and size in relation to the chain and front wheel. as well as the gear which can easily rub against the faring. The decals aint put on correct full of creases and air underneath.

  • Yerah the first batch had poorly stuck decals, most of us just peeled them off. place the connector carefully and the spur doesn't rub. If you broke anything the parts are very resonablely priced and there are lots of alloy options available too.

Remember the first RTR helicopter, I bet that was perfect huh?

  • Just got one and it's a load of crap, Bad design. The rear cross member post has snapped off just by me handling it, cheap plastic this should be alloy. the battery is to big along with the plug, you cant get the body work on with out it being distorted inturn the gear rubs against the body fairing. Its impossible to move the battery to balance the bike. Badly designed crock of shit.

  • It's a cracking piece of kit and mine flies round the track straight from the box, so it must be you! Shame to read your comment, if you'd asked for help or some ideas instead of just swearing and slagging it off I could have helped you.

  • There is an optional clear bodyshell so you can paint it any colours you like or pay a professional to do it for you.

  • do they come in RIZLA suzuki colours also ;-]

  • is there a real chain on this?

  • Yeah a proper little chain, sprockets, suspension, etc etc, a real bike just in miniture.

  • if the bike falls down how fast does it get back up?

  • The side bars keep the bike at an angle whereby you can just accelerate gently and drive round in circles until the centrifugal force lifts the bike back up and off you go! A couple of seconds is all.

  • is the venom bike the best rc bike out there for 230$? how fast does it go out of th box?

  • It's a cracking bit of kit, 22mph straight off, faster with better batteries and faster motors, past 35mph and more to come!

  • Ive still got bruises from where Dez kept poking me in the Pub Car Park everytime I got it wrong!!

  • I deny everything..... ;-)

Hope you've had some more car park practise since and are now ready for a proper track attack, hope to see you there on Feb 22nd!

  • That's really cool It's just like the real bikes. Is is a lot harder than it looks to drive?

  • | wouldn't say harder, just different. You need a lot of car park practise to get your head around judging corners by adjusting the entry speed, and good brakes are the key to that so most upgrade to a quality speed controller with proper proportional brake feature.

  • just awsome. love it.

  • wait until you figure out how to drive one and do consistent laps, bikes are the most rewarding RC vehicle of all time.

  • wicked

  • Cheers, I see you are into Heli's too, when I learnt to fly a heli it made my bike driving so much better. Learning to think bike rather than just "drive" a car.

  • Hey Dez, nice driving.. Looks like it handles pretty well being almost all plastic.. I can't wait to come over next and race these little 1/8's with you and everyone.. I like that track too, is it near yours? You'll have to take me there.. ;) Later Dezmondo..

  • Hi Scaulfi, be good to see you in the northern hemisphere again! Yeah that is Bedworth, just north of Coventry, spot on for the 1/8th bikes, nice and clean, no nitro allowed, always in good condition.

  • nice vid, i've just got mine and staight from box i've had to move things around on bike to balance the bike but once this was done its an awesome bike. its my first rc bike and i'm just getting used to stayin up on bends, strugglin with tight turns and 's' bends.. any tips????

  • Just remember, slower for tight turns, fast for sweepers, you steer as much with the throttle as you do with the steering. Brake in plenty of time and get your entry speed right. Practise practise practise, somewhere there is nothing to hit!

  • I cant wait to drive mine

  • Be sure and practise on a big clean car park first, until you get the hjang of steering with the throttle, and turning/braking in plenty of time to make a corner entry, then picking your exit line by choosing to gradually apply the power before you get out of the curve, and shoot off at a tangent.
