Back in the fifties we attended the Saturday dance at the local hall, music provided by a little resident combo, and they always closed with this tune for the last dance. Some of us weren't too slick on the dance floor but we got up anyway. Great days...and the nights weren't too shabby either!
With all seriousness, all of their songs sound the same. They all have the same exact opening. not saying their not awesome but. Every song has the exact same opening just jazzed with a piano over it or something its all the same exact guitar stuff. How do they get away with this?
@jdiamwmg I realise that the repetition of the 'Ink Spots Intro' might seem that way - but this was a kind of a 'trademark' of the band. You have to remember that this was the era of the jukebox - knowing who the band was without seeing the record label made it easier to buy their music.
The first song that I have ever herd from The Ink Spots is I Don't Want to set the World on Fire and I've loved them and the 50's era of music ever since.
Look how classy and elegant the singers in the 50s looked. I'm so glad I grew up in that period of time. Thanks nipsipone for posting one of my favorite songs. I never heard it sung by The Ink Spots. What a great group!
Something is wrong - the ink spots music makes my spine tingle too much. Like this never happens. I am a successful composer and producer. How the fuck do they do this? The devil has to be involved.
@ncj218 - I played piano for your cousin for about 1/2 year. He is one of the nicest and most talented gentlemen there ever was. Not only is he a great vocalist and bassist, and plays an incredibly mean jazz organ, and he is also a very intelligent individual who was always a pleasure to work with. I hope he is in good health. Please pass on my best regards to him. My name is Herb and I filled in on piano for Professor Fisher. Lastly, it was a great fun playing all of his group's famous hits.
Thanks for your kind words about my cousin. He is a national treasure in our family and we love him very much. His music will be a legacy to our family and the world for eternity.
@sgtrosenberg Have you ever been outside? Or do you just sit on youtube all day whining about how crappy the music industry is, and how superior you are to all the other children your age because you listen to music from the 1930s? Class like this doesnt need to be brought back because it still exists. Try opening your eyes you pretentious child. Btw i assume your a child because of your incredibly childish comment.
@Grimmjow567 At least i didn't tell this guy to, " Suck a dick " Or talk about his mom or some shit like that. I know I'm no more superior than any other kid my age. You really should mind your own business like a real adult, because i wasn't talking to you, was I?
@sgtrosenberg Wtf are you talking about? I never told anyone to "Suck a dick" or talk about anyones mother. Mind my own buisness? You replied to my comment. Are you sure you replied to the right person? I think you have mistaken me for someone else.
Well here i am posting another message but I just can't help myself. Every time I listen to the Ink Spots, even a song I have listened to before, they just seem to get better and better. I'm telling you-I could listen to this group for hours and never get tired. THANK YOU YOUTUBE FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE.
The Inkspots, my parents had their albums and I didn't realise how prescious their sound is, until now. Absolutely beautiful, charming, romantic and very, very loving.
