she's going to help them modify a loan? what happens to the investor who purchases that loan? does magic maxine bail him out too? they should not have a loan after 35 years in that house. Maxine is too stupid to be a representative of anyone. is this the best her district can find to represent them? have you seen her interview Treasury Ben? it looks like a Saturday NIght Live spoof.
My parents had a 30 year home loan and paid it off in 30 years. How can these people be in their home for 35 years and still have a mortgage ? Did they take money out of their house and refinance ? My parents wouldn't do that. They did w/out a lot of goodies and paid their mortgage off promptly. It's all about choices in life. Sadly for the taxpayer, it's "heads they win and tails we (taxpayer) loses".
I praise Maxine for taking a stand! She obviously has a heart unlike many fellow Americans who are spewing things like, "let them be kicked out onto the streets!" This sounds like immature rotten mindedness. Almost like what you would here a bunch a spoiled children saying to each other, "mommy, why does he get the right to get ice cream, when I'm the one who didn't get sick and lag behind in the yard work? Mommy, I will throw a tantrum, if you let him have ice cream, too!"
They will end up being subsidized by government ala taxes, regardless. The best bet is to allow them to get a modification, so that they can continue to stay in their 'homes'. Many of them were lured into getting a second and third mortgage, which was advertised termendously by the banks as "get one for your grandchildren's college" etc. If the people aren't allowed to get a modification, then the banks should not have been allowed to get bailout money! Besides, this is not a competition!

This is very upsetting that we are somehow doing a "humanitarian" coalition attack on Libya, but we can't help people here who are facing one of the foremost basic neccessities called, housing. It doesn't matter if some of you posters are stating that these people are dumb and don't deserve their homes and should be kicked out on the streets, that is not the point. The point is, they deserve a home. If they do get pushed out on the streets, then how do you think they will be able to function?
so this woman payed on her house for 35 years and now it is being foreclosed? I am guessing she took out big bucks in a home equity loan that was adjustable and now she cant pay. She is a dumbazz if she did this and deserves to be out on the street. Of course, gayboy Brain Ross doesnt give us all the facts, otherwise he would have no story.
I'm trying to figure out how people get behind like this. Mortgage and car come first, everything else follows. If you can't afford the mortgage, you should consider selling before you get yourself into trouble. I'm not trying to be mean, just wondering.
Some of you are some cold, disgusting, ignorant, hateful, jackasses. I have and aunt fighting to keep her home as we speak. Why? First of all she bought a house thirteen years ago that required her to pay three hundred something dollars when she first go the home. Now she has retired and still had enough to cover her mortgage and some. We live in Louisiana, now insurance companies are trying to get their money back by forcing people who have little to no threat of flooding to pay outrageous
Somebody shoot this goddamn nigger now. Fuckin asshole crows feet nasty ass fuckin dried up fuckin cunt whore donkey dick suckin fuckin piece of shit.
Hey I need my loan "modified" ( ie reduced) WHOS GONNA HELP ME,,,, oh, im sorry ,I forgot to tell you, Im white...
So I guess NOONE..... Guess I will just have to keep PAYING IT, like the REST OF US who work for a Living... "what she was going through"????? TRY WORKING 60 HOURS A WEEK////
Don't make enough money - lower your lifestyle. No means to pay off a mortgage in it's entirety - don't sign a promissory note. These are very simple things to understand, but somehow these people are too stupid to digest these rules. Stop looking for handouts and free lunches. This is America! Do it yourself! The bank has every right to take back your house. They were the ones that put you into it when you didn't deserve it!
who is jeff fishman, the guy below, I looked him up and his ph# on google...he is a MLM (multi-level-marketing) coach for pyramid businesses. how can he help me.
I applaud Congresswoman Water's for posting this video. The fact is, only 5% of loan mods are currently getting done and most will go into foreclosure. My predictions:
a. Lot's of people losing their homes in the next 24 months
b. Filing for Bankruptcies will skyrocket!!, which WILL STOP the foreclosure process.
The Loan Mod companies are making a lot of money and really don't provide a service.
If you want a real solution, give me a call 310-529-5606
The eligibility rules are so tight for most every one that it is unlikely that anyone will get relief. Of the 400,000. who were supposed to get relief less than 500 have qualified and less than half of those got any real relief. Banks are not going to hold onto homes until the market turns around. Holding onto them affects their bottom line. Find a reputable realtor and have them help you through the process. They want your future business and will do right by you.
I tell all my clients, don't roll the dice with your home. Get legal representation. The law firm that I am affiliated with has proven results. The company gives a 100% money back guarantee if we cannot modify your loan and we put that in writing. If you or anyone you know is serious about saving your home call me at: 1-800-305-2313 ext. 101
I work for a loan modification company that does more than 100 successful modifications each month and the goverment is out there telling borrowers not to use our companies and do it themselves. The banks warn their customers not to use our services. And the truth is: if we do someone's modification, the bank loses so much more than if the poor, ignorant borrower tries it themselves. They have no chance against these banks without someone on their side.
It's not in the bank's best interests to fix mortgages...Banks would rather foreclose, hold on to the property and sell them at a later date when the market warms back up. Foreclosed owners are out the money they payed....and the banks lose nothing.
