Krajina Serbs settled down in Krajina, in order to protect Austria and whole Europe from Islam. In the Monarchy State of Austro-Hungaria Krajina was not part of Croatia (german: Zivil-Kroatien). Krajina was under direct austrian rule (unlike Zivil-Kroatien which had an Hungarian monarch)
