Victor Huber was the first black belt I ever rolled with. He was so calm and relaxed. I tried to my best to defend against his attacks, but to no avail.
I think this was in Fall 2004. I was at that tournament! I won my division by winning a single fight. :-) It was the first time I won as a blue belt and the first time my teacher saw me win. We couldn't use the locker room and there was no soap in the restroom which was available to us.(Yuck!)
I was stationed with Phil at Kaneohe Bay Yat Yas- I was just a boot and he was a cpl but he would tell us to just call him Phil. He is a great man really down to Earth.
Which one is Hector, the Luigi/Samoan rollerblader looking guy in a blue gi? Or the White gi guy with red belt, or the other white gi guy w/ blue belt on?
PopeyeOG - Did you see Hectors Arm after the match? Think again, your out of your mind. I was a no stripe light weight brown belt on 4 hours of sleep and wrong notice for my first match and people are gonna whine. I won all my matches with a high level of control and technique. No it wasnt nice to bring Victor, but who said I was nice & why didnt the four other Black Belts on site get in the competition with the other professional fighters we were fighting? Its not wrong to do local competition.
bearboy01, That is not called "sand-bagging"....it is called the "open division". People that enter the "open division" realize that they are swimming with sharks and usually are not slouches(even white and blue belts). You just starting your jitz training, bra????

If I am not mistaken at that same event Phil Almost lost to Hector Munoz (a blue at the time) on points had Hector played it safe in the last 20 sec and not tried to pass the guard he would have won like 12 to 0

I've trained at a few academies and train with Phil. He's a stand up guy. Class act. He can also put the hurt on very fast.
