I think that amps and pedals should be tested on normal 6string guitars. You can't figure out clearly the exact sound of a 6string guitar on this video for example...

Teil 3: also ich hab mir das vid grade nochmal angesehen und ich muss sagen das das was den amp ausmacht richtig hervorgehoben worde. nähmlich die betonung auf den tiefen riffs oder sounds. das ist das was der amp zelebriert. aber wenn ihr im neuen vid (grinz) zum powerball II (grinz, grinz) den kanal 1.2; also den crunch kanal; etwas ausführlicher behandeln könntet, fände ich das super!! denn grade diese ac/dc geschichte kann er verdammt gut! und das kommt in diesem vid eindeutig zu kurz! gruß!

teil 2: was die soundbeispiele betrifft, wird das vid dem amp im verzerrten bereich wirklich nicht gerecht. denn da finde ich ihn so vielseitig. von ac/dc über zakk wylde bis derben speed/death-metal find ich, geht nähmlich alles! und nicht zu vergessen: er kommt extrem tief! eigentlich brauch man schon ein 15 zoll vader cab für diesen amp. aber hey ich schlag euch was vor. wie wäre es mit einen review über den powerball II??? hab jedenfalls keins von euch gesehen. das ist die idee!?

hey ich mag eure amp vids! gibt fast nichts vergleichbares. grade was den sound angeht. ich hab jetzt bestimmt 15 verschiedene amp vids von euch gesehen und ich bin der meinung das sie mit ausnahme des powerballs jedem amp gerecht werden. ob da mit den 3% stimmt oder nicht. ich finde das völlig uninteressant. tatsache ist doch das der powerball ein tieffrequentierter amp ist! und da ist es nur logisch das man einen 7 saiter nimmt! aber was die soundbeispiele betrifft ... weiter in teil 2

voll schlechte presentation, finde die einstellungen sind übelst schlecht gewählt, da der amp viel viel mehr und bessere sounds zu bieten hat...

auch die gitarre ist für ein demo super schlecht gewählt da vielleicht nur 3% aller musiker eine 7 saiter spielen...

schade schade, die videos von MS waren auch schon mal besser durchdacht...

I went to the music store today and bought a Carvin SX300, and man the distortion sounds brutal! @2byt Ich habe einen Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier und ich spiele viel stoner rock, doom metal, aber auch jazz und funk, im moment spiele ich eigentlich nur jazz auf dem recti und der clean kanal gibt halt schon einen schönen jazz sound her. Also im prinzip darf man doch und kann auf jedem amp spielen, was man will. Klar ENGL und MESA sind bekannt für fetten Metalsound, aber man kann mit denen auch ganz andere musikrichtungen spielen.

people have to realise buying an amplifier for distortion is like paying for a hooker and only wanting to cuddle..... amplifiers need to do everything like the mesas, like the fenders, like the Hughes and Kettner's, which all have amazing clean tone, for jazz, blues and even some could pull off country, distortion should never be a main feature... because you can add on with pedals and effects...!

These guys do great demos, but man!, are there ever a lot of shitty sounding amps being built these days, this being one of them.Sounds like a deep reverberating WET FART! You'd be way better off buying a small clean channeled Carvin or Fender amp with a a few Boss pedals like a Boss Metal Zone, OD3, SD-1,BD-2 DS-1. Way better tone! Try a Carvin X100B re-issue---$669 US and it will blow this amp completely away. ENGL SUCKS!

You clearly don't know anything about good metal tone. Saying that a bunch of cheap pedals will give you better distorted tone, is like saying that it's better buying reverb, chorus, and other pedals to get a good clean tone rather than saving up for your Fender. I have a powerball, Like it alot. Very good distortion and cleans. The cruch isn´t that good but a tubescreamer or any other mild distortion pedal and you can get some nice andy timmon-like crunch

ich fänds super wenn ihr ein review vom neuen powerball machen könntet. ich persönlich fände es perfect wenn man ihn zu dem alten gegentesten würde, mit der gleichen box, und dann denn midboost (neu) mit dem focused und open (alt) sound vergleichen könnte.

aber ein nomrales review freut mcih auch, wenn das eben aufzuzählte zu viel wäre.

Haha when he was playing the clean tone the bottom string wasn't really audible. I mean you could hear it but couldn't really define the notes... I use drop b tuning, but I have the bridge set up so when I play clean theres enough tension in the strings for it to sound similar to having E standard tuning.

fuckin love this amp!our other guitar player is using a peavey 5150 and these amps together are a fuckin nuclear blast!the engl is just awesome fot the low end gain sound. all the engl amps sound much better, if you turn treble and presence a bit down in the gain channels. try it!

Das Noisegate hat einen kleinen Regler auf der Rückseite. Je weiter der aufgedreht ist, desto mehr wird rausgefiltert. Bei Linksanschlag ist's ganz abgeschaltet. Ausserdem wirkts nur auf den beiden Lead-Channels...

"Linksanschlag" heisst üblicherweise einfach dass du den Regler ganz nach links drehts. Wollte nur sagen dass sich das Noisegate auch abschalten lässt... :)
