  • WHAT KEEPS DRAWING ME BACK TO THIS SONG! ITS AMAZING! :D

  • i knew caine was bad news from the start.

  • It's Frak, not frack... no C :)

    @ \/

  • LOL "Frack."

    Still can't get over that.

  • Yes! I was inspired to watch it so I finally get all the nerd comments!

    Did anyone else notice

    the guy who plays

Guyis (I don't CARE how you spell it)

and Elijah Woods are the only two who can pull off that "I'm-pathetic-scared-and-worried" look? Eugh.

  • @Lilypad096 Gaius

    ;)

  • @abornpilot it is a dream.

  • does this sound like the Terran music in StarCraft to anyone else?

  • @zenny1329 absolutely. but BSG has way more soul :)

  • @lingojac im agree,its more touching

  • It's like a dream

  • I feel odd, i listen to this song and the scenario my mind projects is a scene of slow romance...idk. Good song either way

  • You're telling me, that out of 196,786 views, I'm the only person to choose an "incredible Reaction"?! Come on, people! Get with it!

  • Guys, Im not going to lie, but I aways cry when I hear this. It represents hope were before there was so little. Imagine a long lost big brother coming home, a brother who you thought was dead. A brother who can help defend you from the ones who have been kicking the shit out of you for all too long. Bear McCreary is briliant. Good music can make feel the way a composer wants without a word spoken.

  • i lay outside on a blanket and look at the stars while listening to this. i live in the middle of nowhere so on a clear night i can see some staggering stellar events.

  • "It's like a dream".

  • @RealDougal And then Helena Cain calls Galactica actual, that is when the nightmare begins! the first Pegasus episodes are brilliant television.

  • I love all the BSG music, but this is definitely in the top 5.....so relaxing.

  • season 2 - the best season.

  • Pegasus could beat Galactica in any confrontation.

    Dont count on it.

  • @AndyHocvs

dude the Galactica would ram the Pegasus if it came to a fight there for no one would except the cylons who would then destroy the colonial fleet

  • @RedFoxLord

Maybe you should read the entire comment. Jesus

  • damn sounds so starcraft-ian but so much more...layered...

  • @13lackfriday Glad I'm not the only one that thought of Starcraft.

  • @13lackfriday SCV Ready!

  • @stargate302 well butter myyy biscuit

  • great music. if you love bsg you will love the planetary patriot think bsg meets smallville/24 etc bing it and buy today:) so say we all:D

  • This song always brings tears to my eyes ... love it!

  • "Apollo to Galactica...you're not going to believe what I'm looking at....it's like a dream!"

  • ".....Maybe..."

  • "This is the battlestar Pegasus to the ship claiming to be the Galactica, Please respond"

  • @TheQuilanvos

    ARE YOU KIDDING?!

    Pegasus was my favorite one!

    ...

    ...

Oh no. I'm turning into a loser.

  • Pegasus was the worst of the of them, but they have the best music...

  • The crew of Pegasus can go to hell.

  • I felt really surprised when i first saw the Pegasus but the surprise turned into hope as Cain said "Welcome back in the Colonial Fleet!"

  • This song was definitely a great change of pace from the usual Japanese war drums every episode lol

  • sounds like some of the background music for when you play as terran's on the first Star Craft.

  • See I agree this is beautiful in it's own right. Also, and this has been said before, I hear something of Starcraft in this too. Would be kinda cool to see Galactica, Pegasus, and the fleet floating in space, and then all the sudden they'd make contact with Raynor's raiders. Raynor could be laying low out in the black far from the Dominion, and all the sudden he comes across this ragtag, beaten-up though not yet beaten convoy of ships. Could be interesting...

  • @SirGalahad32687 well the Yamatocannon could be a really good help against baseships of the cylons.

  • @SirGalahad32687 greatest idea ever

  • Gods... This song is so beautiful. When I saw the episode "Pegasus" and the crews of the two battlestars meeting in Galactica's hangar bay, Cain and Adama saluting each other and the cheer, I just felt so warm and fuzzy inside. :')

  • I've been listening to this beautiful piece and can't help but think of Prince's Purple Rain mixed with some Blue Man Group.

  • This needs to be in Battlestar Galactica Online.

  • this is the battlestar pegasus to the ship claiming to be the galactica please respond.

  • Admiral Cain welcome

  • @ChristianDavidNewton

Really? Mine too! Do you like Lord of the Rings? :)

  • What the hell. Nowhere is safe from American political discussions. I enjoyed the soundtrack, at any rate. >.>

  • oh lord this is beautiful! I've been searching whole soundtrack for this music.

  • I love this song so much.

This and 'Something Dark Is Coming' are my favourites from this album.

  • when im feeling depressed, I put this music on, and then, I'm still depressed but at least I'm listening to a really awesome song.

  • Pretty much the most peaceful part about that episode...cause it get's scary as hell after this.

  • This song sounds like when you find a friend, a very good friend when you were young.... a friend who you think you will never find again.

  • @Sekmeths Beautifully put. Ever watch one of Kevin Costners first movies, Fandango?

  • Excelent song!

  • Good God, give me a Raptor, supplies and an Stereo with this Song and I would fly in to Space and never come back to Earth. What a peacefull place Space must be?

Well at last until America and other Governments bring War into Space and make it their new Arena for their infantile quarrels:(

  • @Evangelion81 i know what you mean. Can't space just be place to explore and not a shooting arena? The show Star Trek: The Next Generation really did a good job at that. Even though they're were still some fighting in some areas, there was no war or anything....well except for the Borg, but that's just how they live. Can't argue with how the universe made things the way they are.

  • @Evangelion81

    Don't worry.

Space is vast. We're just bugs.

    There'll always be peace somewhere.

  • Comment removed

  • @MCulpa look back in History. Humans will never be satisfied with what the got, their greed will force them to push forward and claim everything the can get their hands on. And even If you find a peacfull place somewhere, sooner or later others will follow your traces and peace is forfeit to the quarrels about tenure and economics.

  • @Evangelion81 I always wanted Atlantia but with full crew, because otherwise that big ship only with me would be surely haunted...

  • @Evangelion81 I pray that day happens. (I would love to see space combat) I dont like the idea of our Terran Conflicts expanding so much into outer space but I do forsee it happening. So Say We All.

  • @deviss113789 in space the chances of us being divided just not vary logical. What's stopping us from using our space ships to bomb russia. or russia doing the same to china, or china to us. if we divide ourselves even in space. earth will become a desecrated rock that is uninhabitable!

  • @lilestfozzy Have you even looked up the Cold War? We could already do that.

  • @deviss113789 I think you got the wrong picture of it. Combat on earth is already cruel enough but in open Space it would be horrible and I won´t try to imagine it. Stop thinking of Comat as a honorful and righteous thing like it is displayed in Games and Films, these are romantisised viewings. Combat is no fun and it is no glory in it.

  • @Evangelion81 you need supplies?

i'd jump in even if i had nothing but the raptor

...as long as i knew how to operate it...lol

  • @Evangelion81 well with the econonomy the way it is we might be dead before we see advanced space developement.

  • @Evangelion81 I am probably wasting my breath saying this, but I am an American citizen. I am very proud of that fact. Please do not generalize our entire country or other countries for that matter based on the actions of the few. I myself do not seek war. In fact, i wish to see it abolished, as do many of those I care for.

  • @Evangelion81 Yeah... because countries are the only ones with infantile quarrels...

  • @Gwentheferret Countries... and their peoples. If non-hostile aliens came along and offered me a lift to their home planet, I'd take a one-way ticket for myself and any member of my family or friends that wanted to go as well...

  • @RealDougal

    Amen

  • so? there's enough room to do ANYTHING in space. frak, their puny wars will not even be noticed. that's why i love space: its grandness is beyond human comprehension!

  • @Ryagful

Joseph Sisko: You know, there's something I just don't understand. You're always telling me that space is big, that it's an endless frontier, filled with infinite wonders.

    Captain Sisko: It's true...!

Joseph Sisko: Well, if that's the case, you would think it would be more than enough room to allow people to leave each other alone.

Captain Sisko: It just doesn't work that way. It should; but it doesn't...

  • im not familiar with DS9, but hes right. i imagine that once we go in space, wars and conflicts will be purely ideological. its not like there isn't enough room or resources out there. heck, world war 2 was a pure ideological war. so will any space war. these guys won't like those guys, those guys won't like the other guys, the other guys won't like these guys and they start jumping at each others necks. animals fight for resources, but we have all the resources we need, so...

  • Fuck Obama and vote Adama for president !!!

  • @TorresJoy Thumbs up..

  • @TorresJoy Uhh don't you mean Roslin..?

  • @TorresJoy which one?

    hehehehe

acttualy i think lee was president for like...five minutes

  • Reminds me of StarCraft II lol

  • Really epic theme forr a really epic scene

  • sounds kinda like the water theme in mario 64

  • it is a dream

  • @Beagle2063 Exactly what I was thinking. Wonder where McCreary drew his inspiration for this piece...

  • Don't know why, but this piece seems reminiscent of Gordon Lightfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."

  • Adama would woop Admiral Cain's ass any day of the week

  • @BassaiDai123 yer galatica is much better than pegasus any day of the fracking week and her crew too

  • kind of dum in real life blowing up the superior ship then flying away in the old bucket

but it wouldve ended the show and its more epic that way

  • Battlestar Galactica is awsomer than the Pegasus. more history to it.

  • Kinda reminds me of the Terran theme in Starcraft1

  • i wonder who would win if pegasus faught valkarie because they look equaly advanced but they are two different classes of battlstars

  • Comment removed

  • @fpsBeaTt pegasus was a mercury class battlestar, galactica was much older probably one of the first battlestars designed

  • @fpsBeaTt

To be honest, I'd put Battlestar down as a type rather than a class. In the same way that a Battleship is a type, but there are many Classes of Battleship

  • @fpsBeaTt That's not true at all. Where'd you get that from?

  • @antred11 You are correct; I made that information based on bad information.

  • @ThePoe537 the pegasus simply because it can fire more weapons and doesn't uses ship to ship missiles which can be jammed.

  • Season 3 is 2nd best. 2 is the best. The whole Kobol arc is awesome, not to mention the Pegasus arc(my favorite in the series). Pre-election times are pretty great too. Season 3 just has the exodus from New Caprica at the start and the Baltar trials at the end. Both very good, but the middle lags a lot. Alge planet arc is kind of so-so.

  • my second favorite bsg tune. i wish it didnt end the way it dioes. i just want to go on and on.

  • without Admiral Cain, acting like she did, Adama wouldn't have become Admiral remember that....

  • Being a BSG Fan, and Actually Meeting Michelle Forbes in Melbourne not to long ago, I must say, This Song, Really Captures What Pegasus and Cain is about. is it Real? Whats the Mystery About it? How did it Survive?

What has Cain Done? Who is she Really? its just a Very Mysterious Piece.

  • This is like a dream...

  • *inspired*

like the sun rising on a long forgotten horizon

hope settles in the air and the dew begins to catch the light.

breath deeply, feel the warmth. A new day begins.

  • Perhaps..one of the most hopeful tracks in the BSG universe.

Memories of a time...where they were so many Battlestars, and the 12 worlds, untouched by cylon nukes!

  • That electric bass at the start sounds like Metallica.

  • Im looking for the music when the Pegasus crew was docking to BSG for the first time... right after the entro! Where is that?? anyone? :)

  • This song, for me, captured the feeling of reunion with long-lost friends. Oh, how well that turned out.

  • I love this tune. For some reason it reminds me of some half remembered RPG that maybe never existed, or maybe Lost Odyssey. Either way, I creates a nostalgic, wistful feeling, which is even more appropriate given the context of the discovery of the Pegasus as some unbelievable dream come true.

  • What a wonderful sight the Pegasus was, rising from the dead.

A brilliant episode in which the elation of the rag tag fleet is tangible, at first at least until they realise the war mongerer Cain is.

Shame they destroyed the Pegasus, having two Battlestars to slug it out the rest of the run would have opened many possibilities. Still, atleast they kept her around longer than in the original Battlstar series.

  • @bmused55

I know, I too wanted to Pegasus to have lasted up to the end as well. Of course she would have been scuttled into the sun anyways like the rest of the fleet.

  • First this song made me happy and a little melancholic. Now it's making me very wistful. It is a theme of hope, distant hope, and longing - I can feel the sadness there is behind. Only one word to describe McCreary's work on Galactica: absolutely phenomenal. And that was two words.

  • @Ohanarahanrahan Wrong.

  • Damn, this scene was easily one of the most emotional and powerful scenes in the entire series. The slow dawning that the Galactic wasn't in for another fight with Cylons, but had finally found a much deserved reunion with fellow human survivors. Unfortunately the joy was short lived, but the beginning of that episode still stands out as one of the highlights of the entire show.

  • @IneptTroopr Pegasus and the two Resurrection Ship episodes that came right after are some of the best episodes of Season 2. Season 2 was the best of the whole series.

  • @Northwro I agree that they're the best of season 2, but season 2 is kind of the low point of the series in my mind...

  • @Brad1711

No way. Season 3 was the worst by miles.

  • @KaitainCPS I tend to agree overall, but season three did give us such epic moments as "Were demons chief" and the jump on top of new caprica. But yeah, the mid season angsty bits braught the average irreperably low...

  • @KaitainCPS I loved season 3. Every single episode had some completely new theme and subtext. There is that cool thread involving the infected beacon, and we see what goes on in the Basestars. I also liked the entire season was essentially about them "getting over" what happened on New Caprica. The stuff involving The Temple was a little iffy but it was handled well. And there was that cool episode where they had to jump through the radiated nebula and end up losing entire vessels. Good times.

  • My neighbors just got pissed at me, I just cranked the volume on this track, Frakking awesome!!!!!!

  • nice tune, very cool

  • In the Pegasus episode, when they cut from Galactica's CIC to the Pegasus CIC, it is one of the most mind blowing scenes in the whole series because you are so accustomed to seeing Galactica and its crew, but to see another ship with a completely different crew is amazing. Pegasus and the two Resurrection Ship episodes that followed are some of the best in the whole series. It's a shame what happened to Col. Jack Fisk. He may have been a black market shit, but he was a likable shit.

  • Comment removed

  • @Northwro especially comparing how nice Pegasus CIC was next to Galacticas..

  • @pf1z3r The only time Galactica's CIC looked any worse than before was during and right after the rescue from New Caprica. It's very interesting to see Admiral Adama patching up and hooking conduit wires while Galactica is taking a frakking pounding.

  • So pretty:)

  • When the fleet met up with Pegasus, i thought "woo!, everythings going to be alright"......i was wrong...

  • Admiral Helena Cain reminds me a bit of the real life Admiral William F. "Bull" Halsey; they were both defined as loose cannons. The difference being, thankfully, that Adm. Halsey never got the chance to do to the Japanese Carrier Strike Force that attacked Pearl Harbor what Adm. Cain did at the Battle of the Comm Relay. (Not that Halsey would have won against such overwhelming odds the way Cain and Pegasus did with the Cylons)

  • But what I meant to say was: thanks for bringing back old memories.

  • I'm no geek: (Okay, maybe a little..) I just ran into this when I used to play club penguin at seven or so, when my dad was on the other pc playing WoW, and he had this song on in the background. He was playing it today (Who knows why) and I remembered it had been my favorite at once.

  • I love the last bit of music from the Pegasus episode (when Adama and Cain launch their vipers against eachother) yet sadly I don't think it made any of the soundtrack releases :(

  • @somecrazymoogle It was just a re-cut of existing music, mostly "Prelude to War" if i remember correctly.

  • Remind anybody of StarCraft? When this track came on, oh man.. so awesome!

  • Cain was the way she was, because she found out the love of her life was a cylon. Imagine if that had happened to Adama? Also Cain didn't have Roslin from the get go like Adama did. She had no family... except for her crew. She was blindsided, betrayed, and left (or so she thought) all alone. She was a deeply flawed and emotional person who felt she needed to hide her weeknesses and therefore she lacked compassion. Adama and Cain were very much alike. Cain however lost touch with reality.

  • @WickIDwarrior Also, remember that Adama was also planning to continue vainly attacking the Cylons at first, just like Cain. It was only after a great deal of persuasion by Roslin that he decided to leave with the fleet.

  • CAIN IS A B**CH

  • Sounds like starcraft.

  • @EricToTheScionti more like starcraft sounds like this, but your right loved it if this was in starcraft 2

  • with the old Pegasus you always hoped she made it through but you knew she didn't as the battle never showed what happened to her. With this Pegasus she died with Honor doing what she was ment to do

  • ....since i was watching the old battlestar episodes when i was a teen, i always hoped the pegasus aka the beast will show up in the remake....i was like fucking hell yeah when she did so....i was yelling around and had goosebumps on every sq inch of my body....it was a frakking long time untill to see her in action together with the gradn old lady....BSG FOR EVER...action stations...

  • The story of Pegasus - awesome, powerful, but so, so tragic... to be one of the most sought after tours of duty within the colonial fleet before the war, and then to become such a turn of bad luck and malcontent... The one thing I wished dearly was that during The Plan they showed the cylon crews aboard the base stars' reactions when Peggy showed up and then hurled into her suicide run...

  • You know, i tought the simple green blip on the dreidus gave a bigger sense of relief then the actual encounter with the Pegasus a moment later. Symbols can have great power.

  • It works because it IS out of place!

  • Very Miami Vice ish

  • Pretty much the only song I don't like off the soundtrack. Sounds like really bad 80s music.

  • Don't know why, but this song reminds me of growing up in the 80's, with no irony.

  • I lke that when the decided to bring in Pegasus they didnt do what the original series did, they kept her around the rest of season 2 and she went out with a bang in Season 3. Funny thing to im pretty sure everyone knew someway somehow Lee was gonna get the command of Pegasus and what does he do with her, Saves his Dad and takes out 3 Bay Stars with her. Best Thing Ever

  • Miss you, Cain... miss you, Pegasus. As Lee Adama says... 'thank you...'

  • Is this a dream?

  • ...yes, it is a dream.

  • @WRXSEVEN It is a dream.

  • actually sounds similar to the Terran soundtrack on Starcraft.

  • You have a good ear! I always thought the same thing.

  • @loik12000

yes it is very blizzard(y) or very 80s-style

even you can think of wing commander 1 when you hear that sound

  • really cool scene when the pegasus arrives! bsg is the best!so say we all!

  • I love this song out of all the bear mccreary songs this is one of my favorites

  • It is among some of the best that is for sure. It sounds so different to from most of the others, i wonder why that is....

  • That guitar and that effect is also used in the Star Fox 64 track "Black Hole". It gives the sensation of being in deep space. It's not a sense of emptiness but more of massive area and depth all around you. Infinite openness. It's also a grand feeling of solitude, but not disconnection or loneliness. Peace. I think of the guitar as the sound you would be able to hear if you could exist in space without a suit or vessel.

  • Wow, you are so right. It's a sense of floating in "infinite openness" (I love that term)

  • yeah. just awesome. i mean they'd been fighting, kicking cylon ass, running for their lives, and suddenly an unknown contact appears squawking colonial ID. so most of them are like 'noott agaiiinnnnn'. but wait! it's squawking colonial ID. a cylon trap?

no. instead, another baseship! awesome. now the military prowess of the fleet is doubled!

I like this song. esp the bass guitar and the guitar parts. makes me have that feeling of kicking back and relaxing after a hard day's work.

  • @AeronPrometheus I could not have said that better !!

  • Awesome:D

  • Hope. Relief. Salvation. Joy. Elation.... too many feelings to describe this song!!!

    Epic.

  • Greetings Adama! We come bearing spare parts and rape!!

  • You can't rape a machine.

  • ORLY :D

  • "Never say it can't be done!" - FDR

  • @JarJar88forever the model's were self aware machine's capable of functioning completely on their own and capable of free thought. If they said no, then you can't go against their wishes.

  • toasters aren't people

  • That's the best thing I've read all day. Thank you.

  • @wavelength121 Shouldn't that be "Greetings, Adama! We come bearing spare parts, raping officers, an updated entertainment system, shang-highed civilians AND drugged up officers. Our ships is in top condition, and we've got everything we want? So... hows your day then?"

  • Did Anybody else think "Yeah pegasus, awesome another battlestar" and then when you finally see her your like "Damn! she is one big ship!"

  • so say we all

  • to see pegasus jump in would be the greatest thing ever

    why?

your in a lone battleship(witch is very old and not very fight worthy, in the first place) , with low supplies , low moral , and you half to safe guard a large defenseless civillian fleet, and guide all of them to a salvation, witch probably dosent exist, being presued by a massive fleet, with far more advanced tech , seeking to destroy you...

If i was in the head position and saw a warship far more powerfull, arrive id be exstatic :)

  • love this song, its so unique

  • i fraking love bsg so fraking much i just want to kiss some one so much thx to all for keeping it fraking alive peace out
