  • Thanks!

  • wow!! isnt that between esk and twah?? gosh i am suprised that there wasnt any tornadoes, coz we do get them in this area. lol. ohh... this was the really scary storm last year.

  • oooh listen to the wind in the wires...lovely.

  • Nature is pretty impressive. Just a couple days ago I recorded some near-hurricane force winds whipping and whistling through a series of metal high tension electric wire supports, and it sounded so eerie! I always wonder what people are thinking as they drive by, as they see me holding my camera, recording something.

  • Woww - that's windy! Five stars. Read with interest your response to Airplanefreek247 - hmm! No tornado watches, eh? Wow. I'd rather it be a false alarm rather than be surprised by one, you know?

  • Nah we don't have tornado watches over here in Australia. The Met bureau just posts severe thunderstorm warnings which include watch type detail.

The Australian media are too afraid to use the tornado word until after it's actually happened. I think they worry that too many people will panic if they start talking about tornadoes because so many people think they don't happen over here.

  • @Hinezy77 agree with most of what you said but i personally think the media doesn't employ the word tornado due a likely lose of face. tornadoes in aus are so infrequent and unpredictable that if you said a tornado is coming, there's quite a big chance it won't occur and you'll lose credibility as a news network.

  • Gee you sure had a lot of wind. Did you have a tornado watch?
