The Problem is, I live in the Abu Dhabi and whenever I use these phrases the person (quite rightly) speaks back to me in Arabic, and I feel literally stupid for asking. But I cant seem rude, so I have to listen and respond with nods, then ask someone else in English.

@bigupnico I'm learning Japanese too :) their alphabet and calligraphy is very easy compared to arabic...but when it comes to speaking and pronunciation, I'm better in Arabic :) so it varies a lot to other people

@xxxFennaxxx yup that's right :) Ayna/fen/wain are the same thing. "Ayna" is fusha(classical Arabic) but "fen" and "wain" are colloquial arabic or spoken arabic. Good luck :)

@enjoy90000 there's no such thing as a terrorrists language. if some of the terrorists spoke English would it be a terrorist language? no. first it would make more sense to say the language of the terrorists. in the end, you have to learn a language, not OWN it.
