i was there in 2006. my DS were Freeman, Moreland (who was fresh out of ds school). i cant remember my other two but i do remember those hills. Going to basic training was the best time of my life. D 2/46 4th platoon Ruff Ryders.
I had DS Curry and DS Young and Spangler was my Senior DS for 3rd plt alpha trp 2005. There was also DS Valverde who I accidentally called Valverde instead of Drill Sergeant.
AHHH those hills how i hated them to march and run up them back in 1998 and 1999 good ol misery and agony ugh...sooo much fun i was with 1st ATB Fox company 2/81 AR 5th platoon
Wow..... in a truck, in the bakc of a dang truck, i remember walking that shit, 20k an we do those hills, omg, i though i was going to die, but it was worth it though....
i also graduated in 1981 a-19-4 ramrods 30 years ago my drill sfc kimbrell tough sob veietnam vet, damn i hated them hills, we did'nt ride no truck though,we fuckin march are ass off; sept 81-nov cold as fuck too, specially if you from miami
Ran those hills in the summer of '77. It was a life time ago but wish I could do it all over. C-18-4 Drill Sgt. Gellsy. Look at that, 51 years old and still have not forgotten his name.
Alpha 1/46 graduate of Ft Hard Knox. Gotta love misery, heart break and agony. This is where real men are made. F the coed Lost In The Woods and all the weak broke dinks that think they went to a real basic training. HOOAH
I was at Knox in 2001 and we got very very very familiar with these hills. I will never forget them. Saying that I would love to go back to basic training even though I am getting close to 30.
When I went to basic we only went on agony on the 20k ruck march, apparently the two other hills were shut down due to them falling apart. Haha agony was enough trust me
fuckin hard knox B.co. 2/8AR 19 K hooah missery, agony, and heart fucking break
dont worry bud while i was there we used to fight cav in disney Px we like beating deltas and takin their fuckin computers and dude 25mm vs 120 bradleys r sweet shit but why use a bradley when we have the fuckin abrams
We rucked those hills last year during the 15k upon the conclusion of "Nick at Night." My (then) 37 year-old body felt every inch of elevation! Those Kilo's and Delta's saw them more than I did for sure!
Why are they using covered transports??? This can't be basic training. When I helped train troops at Fort Dix, N.J. the trainies were NEVER given rides in COVERED transports even in the dead of winter.
The 3 meanest hills there are called Agony, Misery and Heartbreak. I graduated in 1981 from C/19/4 Basic. We use to run them and march them as well. Just keep looking down so you don't feel hopeless...ha,ha,ha.
@dcdevil520 An Abrams tank is 72 tons of straight garbage. Besides, everyone who has a brain know that tankers are retarded. Remember while you're sitting in your tank, we dismount and door kick, call artillery, among hundreds of other things motha fucka! Scouts Out, bitch.
@azuldiablo18 hey bro what unit u in im in 172nd infantry brigade as a tanker and im rolling around doing light infantry shit getting ready for afghanistan and trust me i can do everything you can like umm call for fire, set up an op, kick in doors, move to contact so whats your point bro and any time you want you can get all your scout buddies and put them against my tank and lets see who wins that one you dum fuck
@josh19kilo hahahaha. sure. an Abrams is 70 tons of straight garbage. Just because you're in a tank doesn't mean shit. 1) Bradleys are more mobile. you might as well sit in a street and paint a target on your face if you're in an Abrams. 2) i WISH tankers would go against Scouts. lol. 3) you're just a combat MOS wannabe. we don't need you.
That's bullshit. They didnt make you jog the hills. you did them ONCE during the 20K. Heartbreak, Agony, and Misery. And if you fell out, you arent a true scout.
@azuldiablo18 do they still use that big friggin hill motherfucker on the last FTX.its not paved.just a tall fuckin hill that when you look up you just say,"MOTHERFUCKER!"
Heart Ache, Agony, and Misery. Still have scars from the blisters! But without Drill Sergeant Bercaw and Spaulding, those hills would have never aided in my survival of Desert Sheild/ Storm.
@katocriv HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! THATS BECAUSE YOU WERE WITH THE PUSSY RESERVIST INFANTRY BATTALION. Im a Scout. ONE person fell out of the 28K. we missed out 8K so they combined it with our 20. Three guys broke bones and still made it. haha. fuckin losers. cant even make the 15
@tru6luaCe666 Fall may not be so bad, but the spring and summer is a mutha in the Ohio Valley. Winter, well, depends on how you like the cold. Used to be the best base for training. Don't know about now.
But, if you can't cut it, you can atleast (or used to) say you stayed in the same barracks that the movie "Stripes" was filmed in ( for reception, you know with Bill Murray ;0)
They used to have some of the BEST Drill Sergeants around. If you took 19D /OSUT , jump school was no problem.
