i was there in 2006. my DS were Freeman, Moreland (who was fresh out of ds school). i cant remember my other two but i do remember those hills. Going to basic training was the best time of my life. D 2/46 4th platoon Ruff Ryders.

Ran those hills in the summer of '77. It was a life time ago but wish I could do it all over. C-18-4 Drill Sgt. Gellsy. Look at that, 51 years old and still have not forgotten his name.

I was at Knox in 2001 and we got very very very familiar with these hills. I will never forget them. Saying that I would love to go back to basic training even though I am getting close to 30.

When I went to basic we only went on agony on the 20k ruck march, apparently the two other hills were shut down due to them falling apart. Haha agony was enough trust me

We rucked those hills last year during the 15k upon the conclusion of "Nick at Night." My (then) 37 year-old body felt every inch of elevation! Those Kilo's and Delta's saw them more than I did for sure!

The 3 meanest hills there are called Agony, Misery and Heartbreak. I graduated in 1981 from C/19/4 Basic. We use to run them and march them as well. Just keep looking down so you don't feel hopeless...ha,ha,ha.

@tru6luaCe666 Fall may not be so bad, but the spring and summer is a mutha in the Ohio Valley. Winter, well, depends on how you like the cold. Used to be the best base for training. Don't know about now.

But, if you can't cut it, you can atleast (or used to) say you stayed in the same barracks that the movie "Stripes" was filmed in ( for reception, you know with Bill Murray ;0)

They used to have some of the BEST Drill Sergeants around. If you took 19D /OSUT , jump school was no problem.
