a fair interview by newsnight standards. i do hear quite some doubt in Brewer's mind, must have been a surprise when Scotland chose Salmond hands down. The people of Scotland need to change and grab their own future instead of, psychologically speaking, acting as if they are some sort of charity case to the UK. Even if there were some financial problems with independence, the UK is borrowing money to balance its budget at the moment. The potential gains from Scots finally grasping the mantle and feeling confidence in their ability to decide on their own countries future will be well worth any teething trouble. Onward!
