  • Hello Sensei. It was Nice Meeting you Both Tonight. Very Nice Video and Katana. Great Technique. Hope to see you Friday at 6:00 PM.

    OSU!

  • very nice tanto cuts, those are tough

  • Pretty cool Seth. Even got a bit of Carl in the cutting

  • that was a fantastic video.

    thanks to everyone involved.

  • Thx Bro...it was alot of fun makin it,it should have been done months ago,but sometimes things get in the way....glad it finally was completed

  • richard, seth, Doc, this is totally awesome. Tim, you REALLY ought to do a similar video on our self defense and use that to show people what the dojo has to offer. - jb

  • Thx Jeff.I agree we should do a demo of the whole dojo...maybe that could be our next project.

  • Mizu gaeshi at 4:10 is migi suihei rather than normal gyaku suihei. Very difficult!

  • Yes it was alot more difficult than standard mizu...lol

  • I think he tried to do a kesa giri the other direction, that would be called jin and not mizu gaeshi

  • Sorry ricehatman it was mizu with the yoko on the same side not a kesa

  • to use a blade with such niku as well as it was used is cool to see :)

  • Thx Ricky glad i didn't let ya down. The blade handled much better than i expected it to.

  • Great job!! The kai shaku on the double mat towards the end was awesome!!

  • Thx Cris imo kaishaku is one of the most difficult one s i've only done it 3 times out of 10 yrs of training...lol

  • ah ok. i just wondered if there is an application for it or just esthetic thing. i saw it somewhere else once but i forgot where. thanks for the answer bro.

  • np,for us it helps to find the saya...so to speak...the saya is not always where you want it to be after a draw,so feeling for it during chiburi helps to keep your focus where it should be instead of looking for your saya.

  • oh...i mean when you place your hand palm down on the koiguchi. i dont mean during noto, i mean BEFORE you do the noto. your palm is COMPLETELY covering the koiguchi.

  • ahhh you mean during chiburi,we are taught to place our hand on it during chiburi to prepare for noto,in the begining it's on the hip, then intermediate to advanced its directly to the koiguchi,it's standard for our style.

  • nice tanto cut.

can i ask is there any significance to covering koiguchi just before noto?

  • Thx Lenny, tanto is one of my favorites,we are taught to cover the koiguchi to ensure a correct seat for the katana in the saya

  • Great demonstration, very well done.

  • Thx Tom,this would not have happened with out your support, wish it could have been better but as you know the bamboo gets hard if not cut soon after harvesting it,as it is it sat for 2 weeks and man was it hard....lol
