  • Is it possible to shut down your Mac using voice command?

  • how do you do speakable commands like "tell me a joke" ?

  • I am looking to dictate speech like MacSpeech does. Will this do that?

  • @TheMySideproject This is not as advanced as MacSpeech

  • It won't do speech to text Only commands.

  • my computer calibration worked but the voice wont recodnise anything

  • When I speak the phrases, it recognises them. However, I say one normal command (such as "Get my Mail"), then it NEVER works until I logout and login again. It won't even recognise the calibrations until I login again.

  • My mac doesnt recognise even one voice command. i tried caliberating the mic and my commands never flash or get recognised no matter how many times I speak or where I keep the slider. I guess I have a computer unfriendly voice. :-(

  • @itsmeeeeeeeeeee You are not alone...

  • ive got a problem as well. i have the macbook pro and i tried using speech recognition with the internal mic. it works perfectly on other programmes but doesn't recognize on the speech command. and i don't know how the 'caliberate' thing works. i need help. please reply ASAP! thanks

  • Does somebody knows how to do commands by clapping in your hands?

    (for free)?

  • the problem with mine is that in the calibration, it works but not when i say the commands, i use the apple iPhone headphones

  • how do i get to green? im always on blue

  • Do you think Mac OS X speech recognition or Windows speech recognition is better (at this time) ?

  • @theabcwriter Windows Speech is better. See

  • how do u keep the green at the green part

  • when i say open calculator it wont open all the boxes are checket

    what i can do

  • on my mac when i record to one of my songs in my music program i have a delay in my mic like.. the vocals be late behind the beat but i kno i be on beat with the rhythm do anybody have any advice

  • its called latency. it happens when you have alot going on in your song or there is alot of programs running. just mute the track while youre recording so that you dont hear yourself, then just move the track back in time till it grooves how you remember it

  • It is possible, but not practical to use the built in system for dictation to Word or Pages. This system works well when controlling the mouse, Safari, Calculator, FireFox and other programs that do not require lots of typing (also as a supplement for commercial dictation software and for users who do not have any other option). Tutorial 3 shows what it is like to type to TextEdit using this system. Dragon Dictate and MacDictate are commercial software that will dictate to word processors.

  • can you dicate to pages or word?
