  • IS there the chance everybody is running on exhaust fumes when onbaord these aircraft. IS there a chance

  • is it raining?

  • @SuperSamissam No, the water you see is from dew which had formed on the fuselage overnight.

  • Nice grinding sound. That's when I'm getting off the plane.

  • I love Airbuses. They don't have tue constant feeling of falling apart.

  • I like the sound of the Hydraulic Pump. :) I'm taking AC 761 this august (YUL-SFO); Airbus 319. Should be great, but I much prefer the A320! Great video!

  • PTU sound....

  • Sounds like a frantic old dog barking from the cargo hold.

  • Amazing! And how beautiful is Canada. Also see " Landing in San Juan, Puerto Rico" on this website.

  • Do u all ways Fly?

  • @BlackOpsWorldwide Usually once or twice a year.

  • How does it feel to take off, fly, and land?A lot of details, someone, please?

  • Bom video

  • The window washer is still on the wing!.

  • where's all that water on your window coming from?

  • @jonanlsh Condensation from the fuselage. The plane sat overnight and the temperature was cool so water built up on the plane.

  • For some reason, watching these takeoff videos, i love when the plane is taxing to the runway and then it begans to accelerate

  • 1:28 let it rain lol

  • Go to my channel to watch Air Canada's retired fleet video

  • That is a weird sound coming from the plane in the clip. Umm I would have begged to be let off.

  • I took a flight from YUL to CDG and it was the smoothest ride of my entire life ! I really love both YUL and CDG airports !!

  • how can the window be wet, the skies are clear!!!

  • @caboy69

V1 is the rotation speed (or lift off speed). V2 is your climb out speed.

  • do all air canada a320's use the same engine model as some of them definitely have a different sound. MAybe it depends where youre sat in the plane.

  • @1982FMJ Air Canada's A320s use either the CFM56-5A1 or the CFM56-5B4. Though they are very similar, the 5B4's are newer than the 5A1's. The 5A1's tend to produce more grinding noise than the 5B4's. That could be the difference that you are hearing.

  • @caboy69 V1 => Critical engine failure recognition speed

V2 => Takeoff safety speed. The speed at which the aircraft may safely become airborne with one engine inoperative

Rotate is when the aircaft has reached sufficient speed to take-off. It's when the pilot pulls back on the stick.

  • @caboy69 No it's not dangerous. It's just noisy for passengers who are sitting near the wing and only when the aircraft is taxiing on one engine.

  • I've been on quite a few of these and a lot of them make that noise while taxiing. I'm not sure why....???? It always makes me a little nervous when I hear that stuff before takeoff...

  • that was a smooth takeoff

  • This Plane is by far the most quietest Airbus AC Uses!:)

  • @moe929560

    idk it just happens hahahaha

  • Whats that sqeeking noise?

  • bless u .......lol someone sneezed

  • i'm going on an airplane in 2 days, and i havn't flown in 2.5 years, so watching this is totally freaking me out, because i am NOT the best flyer :S

  • @xxSugarzxx Hope you enjoyed the flight!

  • a320 always make that noise

  • nice video!

  • @barnj30- ahahahaha... i was thinking someone in the back using a handsaw on some lumber to make the meals!

  • what is the seat number..?

  • @denizlisporlu1966 Ity was too long ago so I don't remember the seat number. We were not far bhind the wing so it was probably in row 23 or 24.

  • i liked watching the water go apeshit :)

  • Flying away: The greatest feeling ever.

  • There was plenty of rain but how come no snow? No snow in Canada? What has this world come too...GLOBAL WARMING OMGOMGOMGOMG RUUUUN

  • was something wrong with the PTU system? it shouldnt be making noise like that when taxing?

  • @Robsaints Nothing is wrong with it. It's making that noise because we were taxiing on one engine which doesn't produce sufficient pressure in the haudraulic system. The PTU is therefore constantly turning on and off to top off the hudraulic pressure.

  • @YULspotter oh ok...im not such an expert at the airbuses

  • it kinda scared me how the airplane goes straight up wat wouuld happen if it flipped

  • Does anyone what speed is reached at the point of takeoff? I've often wondered.

  • @beenie3 It's close to 200mph for an aircraft such as the one in the video.

  • @YULspotter no it is not. It is 200 knots which is about 100 mph

  • Comment removed

  • @YULspotter Sorry to correct you, but this info isn't really correct. I am a pilot and there is really never a set take off speed. Take off speeds have many variables such as the take off weight of the aircraft, pressure altitude, dry/wet runway, temperature, wind, runway slope etc. An A320 has a rotation speed (Vr) anywhere between 110-162 KIAS which is in knots indicated airspeed. On average, you'd see closer to 120-140 knots at rotation so that's about 138-161 mph.

  • its 183 on a 747-400

  • @beenie3 bout 160 knots

  • around 230 KM/H?

it varies around that value,i think

  • i love it when he drives the plane like a race car when were about to take off.

  • im a bit nervouse at takeoff , once in the air im fine, but like 10 seconds after takeoff in air i feel like im falling. why is this? can annyone help me?

  • @bexbabe09023 thats just a sensation you feel since what you're actually feeling is about 1.5 g's pushing you up, but gravity wants to pull you down.

  • the air canada planes are very courteous and respectful to everyone onboard alot of different nationalities

  • I would like to be a pilot when I get out of highschool . Was it hard to aquire your aviation license . What were the requirements for being a pilot ?

  • from what I hear its a lot of money and plenty of years of experience. Seneca College in Toronto, ON has an excellent flight training course and is a good place to start.

  • Thanks ! :) I'm in the US right now so it may be a little cheaper , but I can't wait at any cost . Flight school is cheaper than something like SCAD art school . That scool was $25,000 per year ! Plus being a pilot is something that almost never slows down so you don't have a dead time of nothing to do .

  • Doodlebuggie, the tution fee is one part but you also need to acquire x amount of flying time as well which requires renting planes to get your flying time. From there you graduate to Jet aircraft. In anycase keep at it. its really good that you have a goal and I hope you achieve it! best of luck :-)

  • @trainmaster500 Thank you . :) I am really determined to fly for my career . The flight time was expensive even down here in the states but I do believe it's worth it .

  • to be a jet pilot like this? its like a minimum of 3000 hrs

  • Wow , that's amazing . I know that it will take time and a lot of money but to me it is worth it . The hardest thing is choosing what career field to take . Thanks . Are you a pilot ?

  • @Doodlebuggie95 Well I'm not a pilot but I want to be. I did some research about that stuff :P

  • @superzkid Thanks for doing the reserch ,:) I want to be a pilot but I am only 14 and I'm almost done with highschool so I have to start planning somewhere . I just love the lifestyle of being a pilot . Getting to get paid for traveling . I've always wanted to travel and now I will get that chance .

  • At what point does the flight crew pull in the flaps? 190 kts. or is it dependent upon another factor?

  • There are many factors that determine this. Some of the major ones would be aircraft weight as well as air temperature and humidity.

  • I flew on a BMI A319 a few weeks ago and we also taxied to the runway on one engine and the noise from the hydraulic pump could be heard. Why would they use only one engine to taxi to the runway and start the other up when they reach the threshold..? Seems a bit strange but I'm sue there is a logical reason for doing it...

  • The main reason is for fuel savings. There is also less wear and tear on the engines.

  • i love taking off and flying in general lol

  • wtf is that zipping noice in the vid?

  • It's the Power Tranfer Unit (PTU). We were taxiing on 1 engine and since 1 engine isn't enough to keep the haudraulic system at full pressure, the PTU comes on to top up the system.

  • Great video. Thanks!

  • I can see where I live! (Kahnawake) right across the river lol

  • i love taking off

  • Sounds like gremlins sawing on the landing gear!

  • Hahaha

  • looolll

  • I had a flight from Manchester NH to Las Vegas, NV, and that little irritating noise continued for the entire flight - I was ready to find whatever it was and rip it out of the plane LOL - man was it annoying!

  • @barnj30 then the plane hits the Afterburners lol

  • Oooh don't lke the sound of that very much.....having said that when on a flight recently, we hit turbelence and the engine made this strange loud roar. Shit me up, but maybe it was just he aircraft flying higher to avoid it....not sure.

  • What was wrong with the hydrolic pump does any body have any ideas?

  • Nothing is wrong with it. This is how it actually sounds. Normally you don't hear it as it only comes on when there is low pressure in the hydraulic system. There is low pressure here as the plane is taxiing on only one engine. This is a fuel saving measure. If both engines where running, this unit would not be operating during the taxi.

  • Wow, 30 second take off roll. Heavy?

  • when i usually go on a flight i usually wear earplugs during takeoff and it works

  • Another way i always use is just simply swallow your soliva...that works as well as chewing sweets

  • chew some sweets while your planes taking of trust me it works

  • I hate flying because my ears pop. I have a hole in my eardrum and I know everyones ears pop but mine are really really bad. It is really so so painfull is there anyway to stop this? Please can someone help! Thanks!

  • My sister went to Canada with her boyfriend a few days ago to see our Dad (Doesn't live with us), and she went on Air Canada (I think) from Manchester Airport. I would have gone but I have a slight fear of planes. Its because the last time we ever went on a plane (years ago), my brother suddenly developed a fear of flying (by watching new reports and videos) and he told me everything that can happen to the plane and chanches and stuff. I got so frikkin scared but now I'm ready to go back on now.

  • An airplane is one of the safest plane on earth.. the only problem is that when something happens.. you don't have a lot of chance to survive...

  • the opposite is true

  • love that sound

  • flying is great, i just did a 12 hour journey from mauritius to london, i wish i cud do it again.

  • some of them, not all of them

  • Omg i Love Taking Off Its The Best Thing Ever Oh And Landing :) Love It

  • im flying in 2 days and im shitting myself because takeoff is scary.. how arent you guys scared of it?

  • Itss Amazing :) Its Great I Love Flying i Wish i Could Do it More often I Was Shitting It When I Was Going on my Last Holiday Then i Realized How Gud it Wass :)

  • im so scared ive not slept for weeks thinking im gonna lean back have a panic attack, whats good about it? like, the things that would be enjoyable?? :)

  • Just The Feeling You Get Butterflie sin Your Stomach And then You Look Out Your Window And You See The Ground Getting Futher Away :) OMG IM Jealous Can i Go Instead Of You Haa

  • believe me, i wish it was you instead, but after I get there Id like to take over 8) im just very scare dof flying thats the only bad bit :/

  • come on, stop shitting bricks ! Flying is so fun !

  • i really cant stop shitting myself :/ ive not flew since i was little and I dont know if its gonna be good or not =[

  • Believe Me Its Good !

  • Flew there and back pooping my pants :) wasnt too bad you were right, i even got to meet the captain :D

  • Well Donee Ahaa :) Still Wish It Was Me Thoo ahaa

  • same i love flying

  • actually....its not the ``plane model`` making the noise...its the engine model used...and most probly sometimes boeings use the same engines aswell..there is more than 1 engine for planes..

  • Theres not much to be scared of...you just have to trust the pilot. They know what they are doing most of the time haha

  • I Have never been on a plane. And this hows me that its not that scar. i am scared to go. lol

  • the plane fls much igher its cruising altitude is normally at 10 000 feet

  • I have a question. Is that as high as the plane went, or did it fly higher? See, I'm afraid of heights but I have to fly on a plane to LA.

  • The plane continued to climb for another 10 minutes after the video ends. I believe our cruising altitude for this flight was aroun 25,000ft. Usually the bigger the plane and longer the flight, the heigher the crusing altitude. This was a relatively short flight (around 40 minutes).

  • I flew on a plane a couple of months ago and the cruising altitude was very high. I flew from St. John's to Toronto

  • Dont be scared. I'm afraid of heights to but I've flown many times. You climb too fast to actually comprehend just how high you are. And because you're inside it doesn't really have an effect. It's weird.

  • So I'm guessing its OK to film take off and landing with a camcorder?

Im a bit confused because they usually have rules about switching off electronic equipment before take off?

Can someone please get back to me on this because I'm going on holiday in a few weeks and really want to film the flight! Thanks

  • Speaking for myself, I've never had a problem with filming the take-off and landing. I think airlines are more concerned with electronic devices that can transmit signals such as a cell phone or Blackberry. Someone more informed my be able to confirm this.

  • nice video great shot with the water on the window :) i always love that during takeoff's.

  • If I was on that flight I would be a wreck with that noise.

It was one of three things

1-A dog in baggage with a cat's hairball caught in its throat

2-Turbine in bad need of oil

    OR

    3- Airbrakes jammed ?

  • Try hydrolic pump issues.

  • thousands and thousands of people survive car crashes, because there are thousands of car crashes. The amount of plane crashes is considerably less. I know there are more cars on roads than planes in sky, but it still does not compare

  • for any buddy who planes are safer then cars thats bull shit because in car crashes people have a chance to survive and thousands and thousands of people do every year but how much people do you know of that survived a plane crash from 36 000 feet

  • ur more LIKELY to die from a car accident because there are more hazards on the streets than there is in the sky. Think about it, while driving a car, u probably pass hundreds of cars, not to mention the amount of people who dont pay attention 2 the road because of cellphones, texting, etc. but in a plane, there is fewer traffic in the sky, I understand what ur saying in that it is very unlikely to survive a plane crash, but you must remember there are not alot of plane crashes, and who (cont.)

  • (cont) could possibly survive a fall from 36000 feet?

  • There has been less plane crashes in aviation history than there have been car crashes in a minute.

Yes, you have less chance of surviving a plane crash, but there is also less chance of it happening in the first place.

  • Flying is the safest form of transport in the world, there have been fewer plane crashes in aviations history than there are car crashes in one day. Boeing statistics say your chances of being in a commercial aircraft accident with fatalities are around 1 in 3 million which in perspective is flying once a day for 8200 years. Per mile basis it is 22 times safer to fly than drive. All the cars in the world and all the aircraft in the world per year would total probably around the same number of

  • I think people are scare of flying because they don't know nothing about flying a plane. When you learn to fly one you can see that its fun and not so dangerous

  • miles or kilometres, give or take a factor of 2-5, yet fatalities are 200 times higher for cars. Flying is safe as, it's more dodgey crossing the road!

  • dont be scared! Did you know that you are more likely to get into an accident going to the airport then being in the plane!!

  • It sounds like a steam train is one of the passengers

  • Nice video!! Man the hydraulic pump thing is annoying! lol AC should fix that

  • If your scared of planes don't be i no people are but its like driving put your million up in the air if you get scared don't think about the air or anything dint look outside just relaxing listen to music watch a movie if you can txt if you can and just enjoy it dont be scared

  • does the plane produce much g force when your taking off? im most scared of not being able to get off if it becomes to much lol. what would you compare the take off to?

  • You can't feel g force really. The take off...you can feel the plane rising as you leave the ground but otherwise it doesn't feel like much. You look outside and it's amazing to be "floating" in such a large, heavy object.

  • ah ok thanks. more like a lift then?

  • it basicall feels as if you were going up a rollercoaster hill at a somewhat high speed. some, but very little pressure.

  • It's sort of like going up in a lift, but not exactly the same. When your taking off you can feel a sinking feeling in you stomach from the rising plane, and a sensation in your ears due to the decreasing atmospheric pressure (the best thing to help this is tho basically chew some gum)

  • oh ok thanks for the help

  • im like so scared of planes now. I have to go to new jersey from florida. and I have no choice I HAVE to go. and I try so hard to calm myself and not think about it but I cant help but feel really scared and nervous :(

  • you're more likely to get in a car accident then die in a plane crash.

  • im flying in a airbus320 for the first time in 1.5 months and if it really sounds like that then holy hell.

  • im not sure if the person said their favourite airline was Air France for a joke, so if it was a joke, very smart! if not, nice opinion :)

  • i love air france pretty much ..

  • Like others have said, thanks for posting this video. I have been on many a flight before and am going to be on another one in less than two weeks (to YYZ, as a matter of fact!) and I am always nervous as hell before I get on a plane. It's nice to be able to watch the takeoff in full, as that's the part that makes me the most anxious. Thanks again~!

  • whats so cool about air canada

  • THankyou so mcuh.

    I'm glad i found this.

    :D

I'm 13 with an anxiety disorder and traveling for the first time by plane.

To Stockholme Sweden. it's a 9 hour flight on two planes.

    XD

  • I Reckon Air Canada Is The Best : ) .... Personally

  • Meh. I like Air France better.

  • it will be a great experience.

  • Thanks for posting this, im flying for the first time next week and wanted to see what its like, im really nervous! I am also 25 btw haha I live a sheltered life with this being my first time!

  • Don't be nervous, there's nothing to flyin. Better chance of getting a flat tire to the airport LOL

  • very smooth takeoff...

  • I love the excitement in take-off and landing, it's just great!!

  • when your inside the plane takingoff it doest look like your going like 160 knots#

  • haha, nice vid. Although, I am not sure I would be to comfortable with that rubbing noise lol

  • that rubbing noise is the hydraulic pumps, if you dont hear it...its not good lol

  • what is your seat number?

  • This was a while ago so I don't remember but we were sitting just behind the wing, probably row 21 or 22.

  • ow..thanks

  • the view on the sky looks GREAT!

  • I love the whole airport thing, I always get that awesome nostolgia feeling whenever I land at an airport at night.

  • same i love night landings

  • cool video.. cant be a good sound for a hydraulic pump. to be making

  • the carburator of the engine is not well !!

  • awesome :D - i love it when it rains :P

Yeah - in that video though, you look like your gunna stall from the steepness of takeoff lol

  • im going on on in the summer and i scared as shit to get on it i hate rollercoster fellsing

  • I f a pilot is hired in montreal does that mean he will alway send up flying out of and into montreal?

  • I don't really understand the question but you don't have to fly in and out of where you were hired, it's just where you live or where you are based out of, hope that helped.

  • That's great. thank you

  • It doesn't even look to be that high. I'm scared of heights, but when you're in a plane, you don't really feel the heights. It's very interesting and I even feel relaxed when on planes.

  • same :)

  • i was just on a plane and i can still feel the turbulance..... aaugh. i HATEE planes.... i have a severe case of airophobiea. take off is the worst 4 me.

  • how is that possible XD

  • its like when you get out of the ocean and you can still feel the waves

    im getting on again twomarrow

    :(

  • that plane sounds sick, like the pilot can't pedal fast enough.

  • lol
