Don't know if BR5-49 was more influenced by this or the Bullmoose Jackson version. Yeah this is a cover, too. Jackson was also the first to do Big Ten Inch even if Steven Tyler THINKS he wrote it.
Wow this is great music, just gets the toes tapping, no wonder people were thinner back in the 40's & 50's with smoking tunes like this. Just gets up dancing. lol

Flashbell has written a manifesto!! This is what I have been saying for the last 15-20 yrs. If you want to have fun go into a bar that has a internet jukebox and play something like Moon M. Half the bar will hate it and the other half never heard it but loves it and wants to know who the Hell Moon Mullican is! Thank you YT.
I believe that, some day, this sort of traditional sound will come back into fashion. All it would take is for one talented musician to connect with a large audience, and it will come around. When it does, I suspect it will not go away.
Flashbell, you speak the truth about the original country music artists getting pushed aside in favor of the new wave of crapola. Thanks to YT, and to uploaders and channel masters such as yourself for providing a place where fans can still hear the music by their favorite musicians and groups.
Does anyone on here know if Moon Mullican recorded a song called " Your love is the light that leads me home". I can always remember my dad playing something like this in the dark ages of early 78 rpm records.
Moon was one of the best boogie men of his time .. a genuine ground-breaker & barrier-buster for all of those great rock'n'roll artists who came after him ..
Horton's version is good but a different approach to the song. Mullican's great because it features great country boogie piano of a style that influenced a lot of early rockers like Jerry Lee.
Hey Joecephius, Thanks for the video. It was great. Looks like you love this song also. What can I say, you have good taste in music.
Do you like Jole Blon by Moon Mullican? That's one of my favorites. My Daddy used to sing it to me when I was a little girl. He played the fiddle in a western band.
I love Moon Mullican. He came from the same part of southeast Texas that I did (around Polk County, Texas). He died in my hometown of Beaumont, Tx. I love his country boogie music.
Sounds like Hank Garland on guitar.
