  • @Mormonhunk: I totally agree....it makes me feel so good to see good things happen to everyday people just needing one big break in life. Makes my heart full of joy...and that is why this game show will always be my favorite. The way this show was designed you can see that a win is obtainable and not so far out of reach.

  • I love that the celebrity seemed more excited than the contestant....lol

  • 1:52 best part of the video :P

  • I thought she randomly started screaming I was like 'wut' O_o

  • Notice at :40 you can see Dick Clark on the left, in the shot, cueing the audience to hush (holding up one hand toward the audience and shushing with the index finger of his other hand) because of how critical it was that they not eat up the remaining time in such an important winner's circle round. Cool!

  • ...and the boxes wiggled with JOY!! ^_^

  • Mary Cadorette's scream is perfect, even epic.

  • I liked it when the trilons moved after the big win. Remember, they were not automatic, there were at least 2 people back there moving them.

  • Dick Clark and Pyramid. Classic combo. Game Show perfection.

  • I love Mary's reaction at 1:23. It seems as though she "get's" what this $100,000 means to these folks and how it can change their lives. I love watching this one.

  • Dick Clark was the best. I love to c ppl win on his version bc this is exactly how a game show should b run. Very exciting.

  • 0:55 luks like she saw something rely scary

  • Lol. Looks like she's ready to puke on her.

  • One of the things that was so great about this show was the genuine excitement from the celebrities as well. A lot of them took the game very seriously and you can tell when Mary screams like she did

  • I'm actually glad that the audience didn't storm the stage. I see them doing that as stomping on this person's amazing moment just to get on TV and trying to steal the limelight.

  • That was so exciting & thrilling! I was on the edge of my seat! There's no other Pyramid host like Mr. Clark....God bless him!

  • If I had a choice between $100,000 and a bear hug from Mary Cadorette, I'll take the hug.........

  • I know, right? Let the church say "amen!" :-)

  • Thanks for stating who the celebrity was; I didn't recognize her. I've heard the name, but I don't know what she's done. Movies? TV? Anyway, she's a babe, no question about it. That has to be the best celebrity reaction in Pyramid history. Great clip. Dick Clark is to be commended, too. He's old school, letting the excitement of the moment speak for itself without blather like an idiot. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

  • I'm glad this couple won $100,000. There are a LOT of winners on Pyramid now a days.

  • Mary Cadorette from Three's a Crowd was EXCELLENT.

I wonder did John Ritter give her a few pointers since he did Pyramid w/Bill Cullen? But also, Mary was on Super Password and on Body Language, and BTW, she has helped a female contestant win $10,000 on Body Language and she was GREAT on BL and on Pyramid, she was also excellent, God Bless Mary C. and BTW, the other celeb was the late David Graf from Police Academy Movies and Hail to the Chief, R.I.P. David Graf you are truly missed.

  • what is that like 1950's there clothes, and that hair... ekhhh

  • 1980s, actually... ;-)

  • That was so awesome. I love to see good things happen to good people :)

  • Right? That's why if I was a famous person, I would definitely do game shows, because I love to help people succeed and win and be happy. To me, there really is nothing better than to help make people happy. :)

  • @Mormonhunk Earl ?

  • Frodo's ring!!!!

  • Might not worked then, but would definitely work these days!! LOL!!

  • by far one of the best game shows of all-time! definitely one of my favs!!

  • I love this stuff. I hate how easy it is for some dumb, greedy person to win far more money by just picking the right briefcase. Back in the old days (and still, on a show like Jeopardy), you have to be good as SOMETHING to win a lot of money.

  • toastietube: AMEN to that.

  • I think they should have been disqaulified for the last box. Rare and precious are almost synonims.

  • I think they were shooting for value with that so no violation there.

  • No, they're not. Things can be precious that aren't rare at all. Husbands, for instance. There's literally billions on this earth. Or ten-carat diamonds (they're expensive, yes -- but hardly rare).

  • There are "husbands" but only a few can really be called "precious". The rest are assholes. And diamonds are rare, that's why they're so expensive. It takes a lot of work to find QUALITY diamonds, since most are worthless, and have other elements mixed in with them.

  • Which version of Pyramid did you like in the 80s $25,000 or $100,000?

  • I liked them both, but I'd have to say the $100,000 version. More money, more tension, it was awesome.

  • $25,000 version. Prefer seeing the celebrities and contestants play the game the normal way.

That said, I liked both versions.

  • Think of it from a celebrity's point of view. Whenever a team goes to the Winner's Circle, and they sit down for $100,000, think of the responsibility the celebrity withholds. They literally have the power to help change somebody's life. It's no wonder the stars are just as excited (if not more) as the contestant who won it all; the star is thinking "My God, I just totally came through for this person! This person's life will now change because of me! This is cool!!"

  • If you saw the whole episode, Mary mentioned that it was her birthday that day. What an AWESOME birthday gift that must have been, for both Mary AND ESPECIALLY PATTY!! :D

  • My gosh!!! How gorgeous is/was Mary Cadorette!! WHEW!!!

  • I remember her from 'Three's a crowd' with the late John Ritter.

  • I love Patty's reaction from 1:52-1:54. AWESOME.

  • Dick Clark-The greatest host to have ever hosted!!!!!

  • Dick Clark conquered winners circle 10x in a row off camera. This is strait from the horses mouth.

  • To date no other gameshow has ever awarded more dough than this one! A total of right around 14.5 million.

  • Seriously?

  • Yeah Mary Cadorette's reaction is wonderful. Nothing snooty about her.

  • Mary was a hottie back then.

  • Boy I will say.. She probably still is..

  • Yeah, at 0:56, when Mary ("Vicky") screams is the best part. PRICELESS. Why don't they make game shows anymore!

  • The celebrity's reaction is GREAT!!! When someone won on this show, every person watching at home on TV would just go nuts too!

  • I still go a little crazy watching this. Always wanted to be on this show.

  • Me too, man. I had a dream a week ago where I was a Pyramid contestant, and I WON the $100,000!! My partner, Vicki Lawrence, gave me the biggest hug, Dick Clark patted me on the back and said a hearty "congratulations!", all my family and friends came screaming up from the audience, my mom and grandma were crying, and I was just beside myself with elation. (Sigh) if only it were real... :)

  • That is so cute.....

    :)

  • Mary Cadorette's reaction to the big win was epic!

  • @sargeanthulka especially Mary Cadorette and JoAnn Wolrey.

  • This $100,000 win happened on the last day of the week. what a way to end the week.

  • God I just LOVED it when they would win 100,000 thousand dollars...I have a clip (I can't find it) of someone who tried like three or four times in the winner's circle and FINALLY won and I was cheering along with her! It can be nerve-racking!

  • God, the woman giving the clues freaked out more, did you notice?

  • Thats when you know the excitement is sincere. I LOVE IT!!

  • Yeah well, I always saw myself, if I was giving clues, screaming "YOU GOT IT!" so yeah.

  • The woman giving was '80s actress Mary Cadorette. She played Vicky on Three's A Crowd (final spin-off of Three's Company) and was in the movie Stewardess School.:) I love her hair in this clip! That crimped perm, major '80s!

  • I think that's part of what made this show great was that even the celebrities were so excited after the big wins. Stuart Damon was the same way after being so serious leading up to it

  • demti72, you can put full eps of Pyramid on Veoh.

  • If you seen the entire episode of this tournament the lights were not working until she won the 100.

  • The lights on the "Pyramids"?

  • WHOOOOO!!!! SHE WON!! I LOVE IT!!

  • I know right? YEAH!!!!

  • yy, I miss your $100,000 wins.

  • detmi72, why are your pyramid wins gone?

  • Cubicleboy: no...they don't. Others: that last category was hard 'precious things'. i hate those kind of categories

  • When you think about it, as long as you give the right clue, some categories are more accessible than others. "A defective liver" was a brilliant clue for "Things You Transplant." I bet most celebrities would never have that come to mind.

  • Yes he did he won $110,000 Michael Larson, onb the PYL page, there was an entire episode but it's gone already.

  • What the hell are you talking about, Turn?

  • "Defective liver". Awesome clue!

  • Timing and scoring says 51"186 (08"814 remaining)

  • She won a total off $122,800 that day

  • Love this clip!!! It was so exciting for the lady to win the $100,000, but the strange thing is that the audience didn't come up to congratulate her like in the other $100,000 wins. If there are any more video clips of contestants winning the $100,000 on this show, please notify me. Keep them coming!!!

  • This is one of my favorite episodes of The $100,000 Pyramid! WAY TO GO, PATTY!!! (I know, I know, it happened 20 years ago) Mary Cadorette's hair is one of the reasons i wish the '80s would come back. Gotta love the perm!!

  • a punk band really needs to cover the theme music

  • Good for my That's dumb posts

  • what's better winning 425,000 or the $25,000 Pyramid or winning $100,000?

  • The reason for $100,000 Pyramid in 1985, which probably due to the big Press Your Luck winner 1984 who won $110,237.

  • The reason for $100,000 Pyramid in 1985, was because of Michael Larson's big win on Press Your Luck in 1984.

  • Didn't that winner of the Press Your Luck for $110K break that "code" from the show and memorized the light patterns?

    Bob

  • Yes he watched a bunch of recorded episodes and found the pattern.

  • I'm glad the audience didn't come up, I've always hated that...they don't care about the person winning, they just want to be on TV

  • If you ever seen the entire episode the lights weren't working until she won the $100,000

  • Winning $100,000 is like defeating Jun Kazama from Tekken 2 for the first time in the arcade. This is a priceless moment!

  • Or Bowzer from Super Mario Bros.!

  • Thank you SO MUCH for putting these videos up. Your hard work is very much appreciated by those of us who enjoy these videos!
