  • too much vibrato....

  • mala impostacion !

  • I plan on doing this song for a Regional Choir audition in Arizona next February.... I think it sounds beautiful.... You did extraordinary on this song! Keep it up girl!

  • You sing this song beautifully!!!!

I am learning to sing this song for my Bronze Medal later this year! I am sooooo nervous at the thought of the exam, even more nervous of what if I don't get my bronze medal!!! Wish me luck! x

  • Aw looks like 30 people missed the like button! :D

  • well done

  • c'est nul car tu ne va pas dans les aïgu comme c'est normalement et puis tu ne sais pas du tout l'accent alors sa ne veut riien dire !

    mais c bien davoir éssayé

    XD

  • pretty voice

  • I sing it in this key, too. Lol but hey, it's still an awesome song in any key!

  • good job!

it gets easier over time! (i know)

    lol

  • Is this in the Key of C?

I did it in the key of Eb.

  • Listen to Cecilia Bartoli's pronunciation. Your vowels are a little un-shaped. Good work keep it up!

  • i'm gonna be singing this for solo and ensemble! i have to say this as a competitive person..... we sound about the same! i might be a little bit better!!! hahaha, jk! nice job!!!

  • haha this was at the end of the freshman year in high school - i'm currently finishing up my first semester as a freshman voice major in college. this is OLD :)

  • That's so weird, because I'm singing this same song for solo and ensemble! I wonder if we're going to the same competition!

  • really awesome ! you have such a beautiful voice girl!

    great job :)

  • amazing song! i absolutely love your voice! im singing this song for private lessons and i must say i sound nothing like you! lol i love the last "te" of the song...way to add some spice! brava chica!!!

  • I like it. You did a good job.

  • its a beautiful song, one that i am taking to contest this spring, and i applaud you for your bravery to sing in front of other people because i've always had really bad stage fright. but you need to make the song come alive, you lose the audience when you let it fall flat. but im sure youve improved, as you said this was quite a while ago.

  • hah yes - this was spring of 2006- it's almost 2010!

  • You did a great job for your first recital! :)

I audtioned with this four a vocal governor's school and got in! :)

  • hey! it's rachel rarick from show choir camp like, forever ago. i remember watching Taylor the Latte Boy, and falling inlove w/the song. i did that recently for our schools spring concert :) lol now im singing this in my private lessons. i was told to look it up, and here i find you :) bravo girl! <33

  • Did someone forget something in the piano? A pair of glasses or something? I'd like to hear her in some years time after some years of singing lessons. Good material but still a lot to learn...

  • I really should post something new - this is from the end of my freshman year in high school, and I just finished my senior year. I'm majoring in vocal performance next fall.

  • Good performance but some wrong words and above all you don't give. Put your heart and your soul into it.

  • you have a pretty voice but if you use a little less vibrato or vibrations it may be a little bit but 5 stars anyways!

  • I really liked your shirt... and the end was beautiful...!!!

  • Really good voice you have. You just need to get comfortable on stage. Once you've done that you'll regain your control of dynamics so that you can be quite or loud when you want to be, not relative to your current confidence level.

Keep performing in front of people and this problem will fade, guaranteed.

  • i think that as really good, ignore all the jerks kay? keep singing!

  • 5 stars I really liked your performance keep singing keep learning 5 stars! If anyone else is learning this song I have a video with piano accompaniment to help you practice! Click on the blue video in the video response box. Remember sing from the heart! :)

  • i have to sing this in a couple weeks, you did great! i love the end!

  • i sang it in high school. this and Vittoria Mio Core" are very fun and beautiful songs. You'll have a good time. Good Luck!

  • i have to sing this for my concert thing.. and you are SOO good.. i SUCK compared to you. lol

  • english pronunciation or an aria..... there has to be something wrong...

  • the last "te" was far overdone. However, she has a beautiful tone.

  • Well done=)

    You have a lovely voice!

  • I'm singin this song for contest this saturday!!!!

  • holy shiz. me too lol

  • Comment removed

  • I appreciate the effort but u need to get ur vocal chords checked i sounds like there is a problem.

  • She has quite a nice voice. just two small things.

Pronunciation, not too huge, just your 'e's and your 'So spirao gnor'

And make sure when you get to the 'So spirao gnor' section to not let your voice fall out, thats a very majestic part of the peice and needs to be sung with a strong voice.

Your on your way! Keep singing!

  • i don't like it

  • THAT IS MY EXACT NAME!!!

    rachel marie :)

and i'm singing this song too!!

    good job, name buddy :)

  • the pianist survived. Have you ever tryed to take a deep breath? You are singing with the upper half of your boddy. Air comes from the abdomen, to give power to the note and tune.

You also have to make a lot more exercices in soundcontrol. that is, how you form the sound.

    //Holmes

  • You need to work on pronunciation of the Italian, it sounds like an english woman trying to sing in italian, and it should sound like an italian woman singing a song in her native tounge. You should also work on your dynamics, dont have everythying sound the same. Show emotion the song is saying that when her love is away her heart languishes. So show that in your performance... Are you familiiar with Solo and Ensemble Districts? I would probably give you an excellent.

  • you did good, but you need to sing louder, and smile more, you look like you don't want to be there. :) did great though.

  • you are so cute!:)

  • pero esta cantando de garganta!! no tiene sentido

  • Watch your "ay" vowel... ex. sceilcor - not so much ay but eh.....also, I'm not sure who added the cadenza but that is not appropriate for this type of art song. ???

  • More dynamics and your pronunciation was a little off, but that's okay.

    Keep working =)

  • You have a lovely voice. you sound nervous though and I bet you have a stronger voice to but it sounds like your holding back.

    keep singing

    Ser :)

  • iheartmiley4ever-you are just sad.

  • WOW!!!! Im doing this for m y singing lesson but girl you are 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better tham me and my singi teacher thinks Im good all I can say is WOW WOW WOW WOW

  • The kind of voice you have is so much more lovely to hear than the heavier, more operatic ones, definitely. It's clear and pure, which really counts. Thank you for putting this up.

  • she is pretty good. i much rather here her voice type then one with a very heavy "classical" voice. keep singing girl

  • iheartmiley4ever, stop being such a bitch my gosh! the girl has a good voice end of story! the girl can sing and ur just jealous! dont bother responding 2 my comment cuz im not gonna bother responding 2 urs, just stop being such a bitch and putting people down

  • Also lets watch the language. There are no diphtongs in Italian!

  • You should put some videos of you singing up and see what people say. My theory is if you dont have guts to post the video then dont cut others down for not perfecting something to your standards.

  • ok fagbag i will put up a song well five cause im going to state so i can shut your ass up and im know im better than you and her combined

  • I will laugh if you are worse than her, just remember that God can take away you voice in a second. So dont ever get high and mighty about it.

  • Never heard that God will take any voice in a second... but im sure that he will take voices that suck dick and not good voices nor excellent voices like mine well mines more than excellent but anyways there not better than me i more than sure im too good and ranked in the state so i know there not better middle or elementary yes but not high school level

  • And this is what happens to people who worship the ground Miley Cyrus walks on.

You sound so ignorant right now, and I feel so amazingly bad for you.

  • who was talking about Miley Cyrus

  • You can't be that great if you appreciate the music of Miley Cyrus. She is a terrible singer.

  • I clearly clicked the reply button to iheartmileycyrus, but for some reason it went here?

    Yay internet!

  • Talk about Miley Cyrus one more time i dare you. You know what!!! i Doubble dog dare you. First off by the time Miley Cyrus is 18 she will already reach her first Billion and apparently shes great cause she has MILLIONS and you know who she is while she performs in arenas you type comments on youtube saying things about her soooo now whos the better songer you or Miley Cyrus... Hmmmm i say Miley Cyrus and thats a fact. Sorry dude or girl

  • Hmmm....I personally think that Miley Cyrus can't sing. There, I said something. You "double-dog dared." What are you going to do, though? You don't have the power to make me like her. Nor anyone else who dislikes her. Miley Cyrus can't sing. That's all I have to say.

I bet you that I can sing better than Miley Cyrus. And that's a fact.

    Sorry, overly-obsessed fangirl.

  • seri-fuckin-sly im a guy this youtube account was a joke. but i do like miley cyrus's music its good listen to the word they make sence. and for you and princessndn63 apparently you 2 retards dont know what your talkin about. if you read all of my comments and read other peoples comments we all talk about the same fuckin thing. and i dont give a shit if you like miley cyrus her sucess in the music buisness already proves that shes great. so comment back when you see the whole picture. :)

  • you do have to remember that while she "sings" she's probably got like 50 computers filtering and modifing her sound, just like all the other pop "singers" i study classical voice and sing bass baritone, not "pop computer"

  • yes i understand that but we were talking about while she is singing is arenas across the world and big events people her are writing comments about not liking her and other things so yeah

  • Your first mistake was letting yourself get this worked up. So what? They don't like Miley Cyrus. I don't. I just don't prefer her music to many others, but that's my taste in music. That's my o-p-i-n-i-o-n. The same thing goes for PointingOutTheTruth.

There are more obvious problems with your argument, but I'll let you figure those our for yourself.

  • ok i can see that your retarded also... Miley Cyrus was brought to this conversation because i was comparing her to somthing i forgot what.... thats why you need to read all of the comments in youtube before you say something retarded like the other people... anyways i know your opinion is false look at the big picture and not look at the small one then comment... retard

  • first thing first this wasnt the best thing i have herd but its not the worst great voice this song is not hard but its probably that you were nervouse i think you were too quiet this song was made so you can show off your voice to people i guess you can say when you hear other people sing it they come in not to strong but not to soft the end was great when you hit thoes high notes there were some pitch problems but i think it was because you were nervous pratice in your italian there were alot

  • She never claimed to be professional, she is only a girl yet! Besides, it's her first recital--perhaps her first performance! I'm sure when she goes and gets her BA in classical singing like yourself, operawhore64, you'll find her singing more than satisfactory.

  • some of the greatest opera singers in history were mere "girls" at 16 and 18 years of age.. so lets not use that as an excuse... it is getting tiresome. If she is serious about singing, try working on the oo vowel as in moon. It will pull in more head voice and at least put in the right direction. Right now the registers are completely mixed up and there are not many institutions, let alone teachers, that can fix this problem today.

  • Przecież to jakiś antytalent. Ludzie, czym wy się tak zachwycacie?

  • Well for the most part this was great! Dipthings though.. watch out. Even if this was two years ago.. they are hard to control, lol. I think you over-annunciated the "e" vowel slightly, and and the "i" vowel came off as a little harsh, especially when you sang "Mio". But other than that, it was a very good rendition of the song!

  • lol i love this song i sang it for contest...i only know this song is about furious about scorn those fools!

  • I did this for contest too; I thought it was a love song ("Caro mio ben"="Thou all my bliss")

  • Thanks for all of the comments - and if you guys didn't see before - this was me two years ago, after only three voice lessons! So of course my Italian wasn't very good; I'd only known the language for three weeks! =P Also, my high range has improved so much since then, now I am definitely a soprano. (This was from a mezzo book).

  • I wonder,do you know what this song is about?During the first "Il tuo fedel cessa crudel so spiragnor",you're supposed to be a bit more worked up.You have a pretty voice but you were kind of all one flat emotion the whole time. You should work on your dynamics a little.

  • you did beautifully. i watched this video a long while ago and never posted a comment because i didn't read the discription saying it was you. i actually like the way you sing it better than all the other versions i've heard it sung!! congrats.

  • OK...

To begin, lovely voice... its light and clean.

Excellent demeanor. Watch that left hand, you're grabbing your pants and swinging it around.

But, primarily its your diction. Dipthongs are your apparent enemy. Sensa di "teh" not "Tay-ee"... English might try to creep up on you, but remember the 5 vowels in Italian and that they will never change.

The potential is there and ready for you to catch up.

  • I'm singing it for a competition tomarrow and i hate it.

  • Beautiful natural & low voice. Now you need to make a choice either to make a career in opera or as a pop singer. Both there is potential.

  • Italian is so much easier to lean I think.....I did a french song last year and Im glad its over! lol...but this song is so beautiful!

  • im singing this in chorus lessons. lol.

  • I sang that song last year! Itallian is such a beautiful language :)

  • Im singing this for my vocal lessons! Its such a beautiful song! Im thrilled about it!

  • could have used alot more dynamics

  • nice voice!

  • This is a lovely song, beautifully sung. I've litened to this video several times just for the pleasure of it. Well done, young lady.

  • oh,i'm sorry..she sings verry nice..she has lovely voice,and her italian is...um...verry good...and i won't shut up..btw,i don't remember saying that she sucks..byee :)

  • anyoneknow what opera this aria came from?

  • I dont think that this one came from an actual opera...my 26 Italian Songs and Arias book just says that it was written for a concert in London.

  • this arietta was written in 1800s and it was written for a concert in london. also, it is an aria.

  • wow there oops this wasnt written for a concert in london and its an arietta not a aria

  • really amazing for your first recital. and the nerves were there but didnt effect your voice at all. TWELVE THUMBS UP!!!

  • good, song to start off with and you might have been nervous but it didn't affect your voice which is great! and how can you say it shouldn't be w/ vibrato... youve been listening to hillary duff havent you? try pavarotti

  • I dont understand why americans cant pronounce good... Is it really dificult? :S

  • you mean can't pronounce well?

    lol

guess we've got grammar on our side =D

  • Ok... thanks for the correction :P

So, is it really dificult to pronounce well? :S

  • first recital??? no way???

let me start by saying GREAT JOB! i love this song!!! few tips: i noticed that to stop ur nerves u tend to constantly move ur head up and down and slightly swing ur hands especially the left hand :)..... its ok because we ALL have nerves and other parts of our body tend to move on its own without our consent. LOL! i agree w/ the others, more vibrato. u have a great voice, spice it up a bit! i still can't believe this is ur 1st recital!! keep up the good work!

  • i'm sorry, but i'm not stupid, and if i have a degree in that area it means that i know something about it,don't you think so??it can be sang with vibrato but only by a singer who can produce it propertly, not like this, and not such type of vibrato..

  • sorry but it bothers me, "it can be sang with vibrato"--should be "it can be SUNG with vibrato"

    and i agree.

  • oh wait. i dont agree. i think she has a lovely voice and you should probably stop telling her that she sucks because she did very well and i have found that people who insult usually are insecure about their own ability. so shut up. thank you.

  • caro mio ben is actually a ariaetta which is an opera piece, and it is sung with vibrato

  • I think for the era this was written in, the vibrato should not be forced. Vibrato happens naturally anyway.

  • LOVE YOUR VIBRATO! I also love how nervous you were (not that it showed you just said you were) that you had real good control of your voice.

  • Your first recital!ur kidding me!

    wow :)

  • I sing this on my page too! please go and give me comments! thanks!

  • not bad but you need to work on your breathing and your pronounciaton. im siging it for a recital and im really looking forward to it!

  • preetty good this is a hard song i HAVE to do it for nyssma and im so thrilled not.. but good job for this kinda song.

  • also read what the translation of this song means, you need to feel it everywhere in your body! i'm not saying you did a bad job, its just not the right song for you.

i'd like to help you. :]

i'm classically trained and super excited to see new talent.

    <3

  • uhh.

you might want to try some broadway type songs. perhaps "on my own" from les miserables or rent or something.

your legato needs a lot of work. and your pronunciation also needs some work too.

why not go back to this song and use more of a vibrato

  • Very shy ! You must work your breathing ...

    Nice voice.

  • wow really awsome. =D

  • WOW! That was great!

  • WOW. that was amazing! im singing that for my solo ensemble and i just hope i can learn how to say all the words right in a week!!

  • wow im going too! and im singing the same song. its not that hard. its pretty repetative.

  • Pretty voice! Some diction issues (dental consonants, American diphthongs), and the breath doesn't move as freely as it could, but keep studying; you have a nice instrument to work with, just don't try to rush your development

  • Thanks everyone! Wow - this was almost two years ago. My voice is much more "opera-like" now.

Once again, I appreciate all the comments! =]

  • i agree with allibal, she sang this song ok but not opera type. ur voice is broadway like..

  • omg im in 6th grade and ive been taking singing lessons for 5 years and i have to sing that sing YOUR good, i cant tell ur nervous

  • Hey! YOU WERE REALLY AWESOME!!!

well i'm singing that song for my

solo ensemble. I hope i sing atlease

half as good as you!!! =] i love

your awesome remix at the ending of

the high senza di te.....EE!!!! WOW. =]

    ___________________♥

  • This is brilliantly beautiful! You have a rare talent!

  • work on ur pronunciation. but u have a nice voice

  • she pronounced cresa wrong (it pronounced as CH-esa)

  • you did a good job! Rolling your r's and getting more into the itallian accent would realllly help you!

  • i chose to sing this song for the city wide soloist competition in my hometown. you sound really good.

  • You've got a lot more voice in there! Lovely, especially for a first recital.

  • you pronounce really well, i think your voice could be a little bit more "opera-like" for this song though:)

  • She is singing the mezzo soprano/alto version

  • Well done!! I have to sing this for my voice lessons recital coming up...its definately not an easy song..and i am doing it with little flourishes so its even MORE hard. lol anyways u did good i hope i do as good lol.

  • =( i have to sing this song for my class.. ehh.. not my type of music.. but you sang it well.. *thumbs up*

  • That was great! I'm singing this solo for competition... if I do half as well as you did I'll be happy. (I don't know if I can work through my nerves quite as well either.) Your voice is lovely.

  • you did very well, work more on the accent though.

i sing this everyday for choir and its a lovely song.

  • Its cute, the accent needs to be worked on. You also need to support your voice better, but otherwise, lovely.

  • Are you training to be an opera singer? Your voice is lovely!

  • i had to sing this at my first...uh...i don't think I can call it a recitial, but a sort of compeetition. My first time to, in 2006, that is. I got extremely nervous, but managed to do okay.

You have a wonderful voice, there's no reson to be nervous! And try not to forget about all the dynamic markings(I know there hard...=_='). but I think you did a great job!

  • Don't let nerves get to you. Nerves will destroy the voice. It's one of those weird situations where you're nervous you'll mess up but you end up messing up because you're nervous that you'll mess up haha. Just don't think about it and think about the emotion of the song and focus on technique.

  • u did a really good job on this song i have to sing this song in front of my music department to get a passing grade on my music class i hope i do as well as u did

  • i picked this song for my solo as well i hope i do as good as you!

  • i'm going to sing this song..end of this oct..hope i can do better..:)

  • you are cute!! haha. not a bad job for a beginner :)

for diction practice, I would recommend the diction book by John Moriarty. It includes Italian, German, and French so if you really want to do this, it is useful for the future!

  • Its pronouce Cre-di-Al_Men :)

    You'll get it soon

  • In the music, it's written as cre-di-mial-men. So I think she pronounced it right. :)

  • That was brill:)

  • this was a very cute performance.there are few things you should work on,like your accent,it really disturbs the whole performance.and also (i can see that you were nervous) but you have to let out your voice, like in 2:o2 when you sang senza di teeEEE :D you were really good.

  • Nice voice. Just make sure to check your pronounciation before posting it for all to hear!

  • not bad for a first recital, but u were just a little bit singing like a robot, like the words were kind of umm....well, kindof chopped wierdly...idk, u did good!

  • This is THE "war horse" song of the beginning Italian repertoire. Your Italian sounds entirely American, which you must fix. I recommend "Singer's Italian" by Evelina Colorini as an EXCELLENT Italian diction resource. You have great line, though! I love your jaw position as well: always strive for that relaxed, down-and-back position to give you the PERFECT laryngeal positioning. Keep singing; I look forward to hearing more of your work! :-)

  • Work that voice hon, you have a treasure. You have some big kinks to iron out with your diction, but nothing some hard work cannot fix.

  • I just got this song from my voice coach today, you sing it very nicely. You are leaps and bounds ahead of me, I am jelous! Keep it up.

  • Thanks for all the comments!

  • You're a beautiful singer! Splendid, you have a lovely voice!

  • Wow I love your voice !! That was really after four lessons ???

  • I sang this song for solo/ensemble..you sang it very well =]

  • very well done indeed the first time i did just listen and not watch the performance and in your voice there is nothing of nervousness it's just in the body language. You sang it very lightly and not too operatic, more natural. Though Cecilia Bartoli is still my number one, this is a very high ranking!

  • sang it too... but differently. :)

  • Very very good. I'm impressed that this is only after four lessons. I sang the same thing when I was in sixth grade, and it took me four lessons to get my pronunciation down probably about 3/4s as good as yours is. I really love this song!! I'm very impressed! I agree, you did seem a little nervous, but that is just natural. Good luck in the the rest of your vocal career!

  • Thank you!

  • Thanks! Yeah, I noticed that, and actually a little after this recital I took a performing arts camp with my voice teacher and a few other girls, and I got the arm swinging pretty much under control.

  • Your voice isn't still planed in a good way. There isn't good resonance. But strenght and endurance can raise anything.

  • Lovely voice, lovely song, lovely girl :-)

Rachel, you really did a good job and I know tha the Italian pronounciation is very hard for english speaking people ;-)

Don't hear to comments like that one from piyyano. You're a good singer!

    Sorry for my bad English

    Kisses from a German basso

  • Thanks a lot!

  • my voice teacher used to have me sing this..such a pretty song. nice job!

  • I think you did a lovely job, Rachel.

  • thanks!

  • Rachel, you will probably hear many others stupid comments like piyyano's who certainly ignores that 10 years of hard studies are required to make a good lyric singer. DonGiovanni07 is right ("e" isn't "ey" by example); Take care about your shoulders; they don't seem relax and horizontal, your right one seems higher and blocked. For only 4 voice lessons and a first recital, it's good ! Sorry for my bad english, kisses from a French tenor :)

  • Thanks! I'll look at my shoulders, I was really nervous, more nervous than I get now. And since I've now been studying for a year, I've worked a LOT more on the Italian pronunciation. Thanks again! =]

  • very very bad ....ok!

  • This was almost a year ago, and after only four voice lessons.

Do you sing? Feel free to offer any pointers that you have.
