  • Could be prtty cool for longboardig but it looks very choppy

  • The reef is a joke.

An embarrassing one for the council

A profitable one for the people who made it

  • @lukedreams - it's a shame it failed. I live about 1k from the reef and see it most days. Surfers stay off the reef because the best waves are around the pier.

  • it will be good to be able to surf down hre its kinda boring without the waves all yr long!

  • does any one know how much does it cost an artificial reef roughly?

  • @ricardonupo 1.4million

  • the song playing is good for my brain.

  • the reason it getting built there is cause its funded by the honeycombe beach project so there hardly likely to build it somewhere else are they

  • hah thanks man,

    and im very jelous!

  • Ok,thanks.. didn't think of it like that. It might even draw some of the crowds away from N-Dev. I have lived all my life in croyde, and detest the crowds, but we're spoilt for waves. There's always somewhere close thats working whatever the conditions. But ive just finished college and because of the crowds have just moved to my parents in south France, so now i'm getting perfect 6-10ft days in boardies and 2mil vest (Cant wait for winter)! I have to try hard NOT to bet barrelled.

    PS-Nice vid!

  • your right, i have lived all of my life near croyde and i hate it how the tourist come with their shitty surfers. but croyde beaand puttsborough need better barrels and bigger waves, because big waves are still non frequent!!!! cant wait to do national bodyboard championships!!!

  • Tourists prop up your shitty economy

  • I'm NOT slagging off Bournemouth or its waves, but its a complete waste of money to build an artificial reef there when North Devon and Cornwall gets so much more swell which would do it proper justice!

It would be so much more worthwile building it in dev or c-wall, for both the investors and the surfers due to the size of the quality waves it would produce.

Whats the point in having a perfect wave when thebiggest it will ever get is 2ft when they could be perfect 8-10 just a few miles away?

  • yeh but cornwall and devon already have good surf they wouldnt need it

  • i agree

  • fair point but for me devon and c-wall aren't 'just a few miles away' whereas bmouth is

this is makin surfing convenient for me and that is a dream come true!

  • m8 its not a few miles awya its like 3 t 4 hrs for bournemouth corn and devon dont even need a reef thye lready have good waves

  • everytime ive been i just see people in the water waiting around for ages. it dont look like fun lol

  • your mum does.

  • then take your tiny little rod home to mamma.

  • OUT NOW ON MY CHANNEL
