siege looks really good as only one issue has been released and i have read it. The whole doom attacking norman thing is a good start but the reference to the beginning of the civil war was stupid. blackest night is good but the latest issue with the black lanterns not burning to dust after the assault with the white light was just stupid. and the war of kings fallow up ight be good not sure yet. at least the avengers return.
I definately agree that I am evented out. Not so much with Blackest Night I have really enjoyed every issue I've picked up. I'm really worn out with Dark Reign besides Invincible Iron Man, Thunderbolts, and the American Son storyline Dark Reign was pretty much a complete waste of time. I will not be reading Siege and I'm hoping none of the Marvel books I read are tie-ins because I'm officially tired of Marvel Events
I think Siege will be an event that could have been great, but will fall flat because of Bendis. For the most part his stuff is average at best. The best part of the whole Siege thing will be the end of this dark reign bullshit. Everything from civil war to dark reign was a great idea that was written on a scale from poor to average. I'm ready for something new.
Though my comics aren't worth anything, treating them with care when i read them, bagging, and boarding them are all part of the fun of the hobby for me.
I share your sentiment Jose. I hate that question too. I sometimes allow my friends to tag along to the shop with me and their first question is always, "How much is this worth??" and I'm like "It says 2.99? It is 2.99! Stop asking."
i actually wanted to ask about those soleil comics, i recently saw an issue of skydoll i think it was called, but i had no idea what it was about so i carried on with my business, are you guys planning on doing any reviews on the european stuff?
Dark didn't really do what Osborn set out to do. Nothing changed, none of the heroes were "taken care of". Nothing eventful happened while Osborn was incharge. It just dragged on. I choose DC until Marvel comes up with something good.
(continued) It's great cause I can get my comics every few weeks, and then I can ask for the trades I want for xmas ect. and get a nice collection of the individual issues in one book that I can put on the book case and display. instead of having the individual issues taking up storage space in boxes tucked away.
I never would have done it before, but now I'm a college student and comics just became too expensive for me. so every few weeks when I come home I go pick out the ones I want off the list for each week, and about an hour later I have every thing I missed. Don't get me wrong I would rather have the physical thing and be able to pay for them. But I simply can't right now. and actually this is really leaning me towards buying trades more instead of monthly
To answer Elliot, a single issue of a popular book can be downloaded in minutes, you can download a whole weeks worth of comics in a couple of hours.
I've actually bought more comics since I started downloading because I don't get the opportunity to go into comic shops. The only shops I've been in in the last 4 years were midtown comics and forbidden planet when on holiday in new york.
So the "try before you buy" is very important to me and has influenced buying habits in a positive way.
Marvel sure is putting out black knight and much as I love the black knight character its being done by Tom Defalco so the writing is going to be pretty old fashioned, jimmy's gonna really cry if he gets that!
Digital comics just cant stand reading them. I stop buying marvel for a year now and its great. Now Buying more DC Image, other parties. I wouldnt mind getting free little stuff from buying comics.
When I buy my comics I keep them and most of the time I bag and border them, I not into making money out of them. I have been buying more trades after watching the show.

downloading comics online is actually huge. it only takes 1 or 5 minutes to download a whole comic torrent issue.
I don;t do it cause it hurts the industry, but its bad I know tons of kids who never buy comics
