Well, Bush's main problem is that he got so ahead of himself after 9/11 when his approval rating jumped to 90% overnight and suddenly he thought he could do anything he damn well pleased. We went after the bad guys (i.e. the Taliban) like we should have done, but then Bush got sidetracked with Iraq. THAT's where the Bush administration went wrong.
How did they handle 9/11 well? They bombed Afghanistan... that's what any other president would have done. Even Kucinich would have bombed Afghanistan after 9/11.

I lived in Georgia (the country) from 2006 to 2008, right up through the War in South Ossetia, and I can tell you that the US government did in fact kill innocent people (in South Ossetia), albeit indirectly.

Well, Bush's main problem is that he got so ahead of himself after 9/11 when his approval rating jumped to 90% overnight and suddenly he thought he could do anything he damn well pleased. We went after the bad guys (i.e. the Taliban) like we should have done, but then Bush got sidetracked with Iraq. THAT's where the Bush administration went wrong.

Let me rephrase that: Handled 9-11 as well as they could. Compared something completely out of left field as that horrible day to something that the government had fair warning of (Katrina), the administration did the best job they could.

People like her just use pretty words like liberty and freedom and democracy to win over people's hearts but I'm not stupid, I can see through the bullshit. Sorry friend, you are mistaken. The constitution has not be changed. Our attorney general has twisted the wording of the law to allow for things such as "resonible suspsicion" which is not probable cause. But yes, you still have fake security confused with real security. Your response makes no sense at all. However you like to cut it, a person cannot feel safe about security they do not know is occuring. You know? Since they don't know about it. That's the kicker isn't it?

Look up the repassing of the FISA bill. This is the loophole the elites used to cover their asses for setting up a domestic spy network to monitor the American people. So. I agree whole heartedly with you that the Bush administration tries to use a mix of fear and fake security to get people to be more numb to losing their civil liberties. But we have to seperate the guise of security from actually security. The only reason Bush threatened to veto the new FISA bill is because it did not provide retroactive immunity to the telecom companies for being complicit in setting up a domestic spy network. Looks like you and I agree on more than we think : )
