You tie amazing flies in a really pedagogical way, that is truely inspiering! I will copy some of your patterns for this summer fishing for trophy trout here in sweden.
The intro was composed and played by my 19 year old son Sean and it has no name, if you type in geetarsean, you'll find his youtube channel, playing his guitar..
brilliant again davie a great mayfly pattern, one ive tied which is similar (a variant) but a great fly to fish over here, on gods fishing island,oh yeah, happy wrappings, davey.
I'ts to help hold the CDC fibres up plus using the orange will add a wee bit of colour but to be honest it wouldn't make a lot of difference to the fly if it wasn't there, it's my friend that wants it on the dressing as this was on the original fly that he was given...
I did buy the mallard flank from the Glasgow Angling Centre but like you said I too can't find it on their site but I know it's there just give them a call..

hi davie, great fly, one question though, what is the purpose of the flexi floss you tied in, it doesn't seem to be visible.

I find it hard to form a head on these sort of flies. Could I use a hackle guard to help? Paul

Hi McBeever2k9 (Paul),
Yes use a hackle guard if you find it easier....

Nice fly. This is dry or wet fly?
Thanks.

@kelsza it is a dryfly ;)

Hi kelsza,
Like Flyfishinglove said it is a dry fly but allowing it to sink I'm sure it would take a fish too...

Hi Davie,
Great looking pattern!
Where do you get the Dyed Mallard flank or did you dye it yourself?
I've had a look at the GAC but couldn't see any.
Thanks,
David
