Believe it or not, this is one of the better sounding songs from the great Bob Dylan in the last 10 years. I LOVE his music but his voice has been gone for many years and this is not too bad. In fact it kind of grows on you. Bob Dylan is the greatest!

I was there in the 60's, I was there in the 70's late 70's when Bob had his "born again experience"..that's the one thing about Jesus..once you know Him..He will never leave or forsake you! Think ofthe artisits in the time Dylan was growing up -- every one of them who had decent careers eventually made a Christmas album. So as Dylan career nears its end (he is 70) he wants to do his Christmas album. So he chooses a mix of secular, religious, and humorous Christmas songs and puts out the album for charity -- all proceeds from this went to food programs. God bless you, Bob.
@fontinau Well think Bing Cosby, Nat King Kole, any number of examples. Dylan's generation did one Christmas album if they were having a decent career. FDylan turns 70 and does it for charity. How can anyone disagree with that?

Bob Dylan is still a great songwriter no matter how many spelling errors I make. "Like a Rolling Stone" is considered one of the greatest songs ever. "Don't Think Twice" changed the way songs were written and played. This is my last post on this topic.

This is better than I thought it'd be. Beats the crappy arrangements with overdramatized voices that a lot of artists opt for these days. Beautiful video, too.
I'd rather listen to a Dylan song with his current voice than most music on today's charts any day. Dylan is waay more listenable, and I'm 18.

@MisterMoccasin Actually I said that to prove the point that, indeed, music does defy age. I'm fed up of people saying "oh, he's old" or crap like that. Yeah he ruined his voice because of smoking, but the guy can still make amazing music and he doesn't care what others think. Good music is timeless.

There a bunch of people on Youtube covering Bob's songs everyday, why don't you go and criticize about that, but here saying "Worst piece of shit of his career" and what not over Bob Dylan covering other people song. I'll bet you don't even know who the original artist is.

@MrMousket Yes, when he had a semblance of a voice. Actually Bob never did have a great voice but there was a timbre in the voice & of course the magic songs & the way he put the songs over. You are correct about Self portrait, this album was a self indulgent piece of nonsence. Let me repeat something I wrote earlier, there is no greater Bob Dylon fan than myself. I think" Not Dark Yet " is a masterpiece. This xmas album in my opinion is still rubbish & I feel embarrassed for Bob !!!!

This was my grandpa's favorite Christmas song. He passed away about six months ago and whenever I hear this song I think of him. And to have Bob Dylan sing it is just...great.

@Teddyb1939 I think this cd was a response to the people who were saying Dylan sold his soul to the devil. I think to quell the rumors, he decided to make a religeous cd. Give the guy a break, he is turning 70. In his younger years he had an amazing unique voice. Did you know, when people were critisizing him, he used to make a bad record just to see who would buy it? I should not have used the f word, i know, but there were some very mean comments when i posted it. I will be removing it soon

You mention Bobs younger years, exactly what I am getting at, Bob Dylon of the past would not dreamt of recording this tosh. I am a great admiror of Bob Dylon & have been since he first arrived on the scene, It is almost heartbreaking to see & hear him do this rubbish !! I do not believe that he would ever do a bad record just to prove a point. Isn`t this youtube great. !!

He is considered, by main stream industry, professional writers in all forms of music, to be the best songwriter in history. He has devoloped entire new ways of writing music and has completely changed the way music is written and played. Many of the musicians you hear and love were inspired by, and copied from, and learned from Dylan's style.
