  • your amazing! but your a teen/20's yeh? arent you suppost to mumble more than anouciate the amount you do? haha :P

  • Great. Thanks !

  • Just curious, Are you left handed? I notice you playing the bass drum beats with the left pedal (if I am not mistaken) not to mention playing R-L flams.

  • @HelixReignCody I'm actually right handed but left footed. I was self taught and learnt to play open handed on a left handed kit....I know, it's crazy! Thanks for your interest. Rob

  • Not sure if you teach for a living....if not, you should! I'm 42 and changing instruments from guitar to drums as I fancy a new challenge....my 8 year old son is also wanting to learn and these lessons are going to be extremely beneficial to both of us! Keep up the great work!

    Russ.

  • @nwtrucker38 Hey Russ, welcome to the drums! I'm pleased that my videos are helping you and your son. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions and happy drumming to you both! Rob

  • I was just curious if you use the e-kit exclusevely, or if you also have an acoustic kit? I have an explorer, but am upgrading to the express iv. or the 500.

  • @TheGooch1972 Yes, I have a little Sonor Acoustic Jungle Kit which I use for live shows. I use the electric kit for my videos because it's so easy to record compared to an acoustic kit. You can't go wrong with Yamaha electric kits! :)

  • "1 ant, 2 ants, 3 ants, 4 ants.."

  • thank you !

  • You play drums good. But, if you say it´s hard to play all these bass drum notes in a row, why don´t you just use both pedals. I play this song with double bass always. And it helps me a lot :D

  • @MrPortnoyJunior That's great, you've found a way that works for you. Thank you for your nice message! :)

  • @MrPortnoyJunior I think I'd just Heel-Toe technique for that. ;)

  • what kind of drum set is that

  • You are bloody brilliant man. Thank you for your time!

  • taylor hawkins probably has a double bass drum kick so its ok that u didnt get it exactly fast enough :)

  • @ichabod09 It was Dave Grohl on drums and not Taylor Hawkins and he certainly did NOT have a double bass drum pedal...but thanks for your input anyway :) Rob

  • @DrumsTheWord holy crap u actually responded......i feel important

  • awesome video dude

  • Your a really good teacher...

  • @DrumsTheWord thanks i actually would have never known! i play this song with my band and i always thought it was taylor. nice instruction and vid i really have enjoyed ur videos over the past couple years =) keep doing what your doing my man!

  • your a better teacher than my drum teacher :D thankyou very much

  • Dont mean to be a stickler but i was under the impression that taylor howkins played drums for foo fighters. did dave write the drum parts for this song? and just had taylor played it??

  • @DoctorBeanz413 I believe Dave was the one that played drums on the album version...

  • @Arigatex That's right. Dave recorded all the original drums before Taylor joined the band I believe.

  • @DoctorBeanz413 You raise a good question that alot of people get confused on...including me! The original drummer (Chris something?) left the band and so Dave re-recorded all the drum parts for this album. He then met Taylor and got him to join the band after. Cool fact to know if you didn't already becuase now you know you're listing to some more Grohl drumming! :D

  • @DrumsTheWord He left the band because Dave re-recorded the drum parts, they said that on Back And Forth

  • @Anacall Cool, thanks for the info!

  • @DrumsTheWord He left the band because he was recording again all the album with dave at the drums! :)

    Then they found Taylor.

  • @DoctorBeanz413

yeah for The Color And The Shape Dave did the Drums

its funny cause Taylor joined right before the Everlong Video so hes in the video

  • Great video once again man! Have you got any tips on how to get more controlled fast notes on the bass drum?

    Thanks Man!

  • you're a great teacher! i enjoy your vids!

  • Thanks.

  • @FRANKitachi You're welcome! Feel free to "Like" my vid if you...err, well, like it! :)
