The air vents on the side reduce the pressure that builds up on top of the tires, at high speeds it really does contribute to the stability and acceleration of the vehicle. Excellent attention to detail and design by Infiniti.

Sports cars like the Infiniti FX35 deserve a lot of attention. I have a 2005 bmw x5, and it's pretty sporty, but the FX35 is a very impressive, luxurious SUV. Japan has been doing very well in the auto industry, and their cars are top-notch.

Nissan's luxury car brand is Infiniti, and the Infiniti FX35 is just a luxurious Nissan Murano. It's got more power, more luxury, and better performance. It's also, however, pricier. The FX35 is always referred to as "sports car platform". It's no Ferrari or Porsche Cayenne Turbo or anything, but it's got high ride quality. If you want a quite sporty ride, get the FX50S, which does the 0 to 60mph run in 5.4 seconds. Again, not incredibly impressive, but above average for an SUV.

The side vents in this FX actually have a purpose, other car manufacturers just put it for decoration, but these actually prevent the car from lifting at high speeds. Cutting down on air current build up from the fenders.

well, i got the 09 murano... i thought about the fx, but murano was about 10 grand cheaper and fx35 is just luxury version of the murano... i have no problem with murano and how it performs compares to its cousin... and MPG on murano is wayy better than 390 HP FX35...

The murano is a nice suv but the fx is not a luxury version of it. the fx is built on the same rear-wheel drive platform as the 350z and the murano is built on the same front wheel drive platform as the altima. the fx has the VQ35HR "high response" engine which does not produce 390hp, but 309. And the murano has the VQ35DE w/ CVT producing 265hp and uses the i-AWD (Intuitive All-Wheel Drive). While the fx uses a completely different Advanced Total Traction Engineering System AWD.

Man.. I understand you defending your '08 and all but lol come on now. I admit the looks are even more polarizing than the previews gen and it's not for everyone but besides that the 09's are WAY superior to the first gens in every possible aspect =/. Incredible interior quality makes the 1st gen look cheap inside. Way faster,better handling and supposedly better fuel econ. It's normal for the oldschool fx'ers to be defending their models but I bet the new gen will be as popular and then some.

The presenter and 70% of comment posters are absolute ignorami...the "vents" are fully functional as they relieve the air pressure created within the engine bay at higher speeds - resulting in better and more secure handling.
