For the 21st century battlefield, no one corp is better than the others. With the use of combined arms tactics, each corp relies on the other for support, they are not stronger or weaker than each other nor is one more dispensable than the other.
I was considering Rifleman in the ARA but once I started researching Airfield Defence guard I was hooked..Im ringing my recruiter tomorrow to change my number 1 preference from Rifleman to ADG .......Then I will at least get my assessment day booked and ready as Rifleman is booked back for 12+ months
I have to say I think the RAAF has won me over..Sorry Army :)
@IIZODIIAC I Dont know mate..orignally I was considering motor tranposrt driver because I have my HR licence, but after finding out it was only part-time I gave it a miss.
I reckon the RAAF's the way to go with somebody whose got their head screwed on tight. I did a few years army cadets, joined the navy and did my initial 4 yr service contract and discharged almost over two years now.... and since coming back into civvy world I can say that I have never been so bloody disappointed and disillusioned in the way things run out here... esp. when you find yourself unemployed, no social network or employment contacts, no job security no NOTHING...
for starters making sure you do amazinly at school with heaps good HSC results. The rest i cant completely remember but theres a magazine called Contact : air land and sea and some of their issues talk about the air force and fighter pilot training.
oh were u a pilot? aside from HSC results are there any other mental skills or anythin required to get in..btw just read ur channel, n it says that ur trainin to be a sniper?
nah however ive got a mate training to become a fighter pilot and yes i am training to be a sniper in the infantry by learning most thing necessary to do with testing and evaluation and have started competition shooting so that i have accuracy covered before i actually join the army.
also forgot to say theres a session when applying to become a fighter pilot called a YOU session where you will be evaluated on your motivation your results from university/high school etc basically a session along those lines, and in some respects that is one of the most important sessions.
I was also told that you have to be 100% physically healthy, this includes no history of fractured bones n any serious illnesses?? that true oh n btw are there any civilian places where to learn how to shoot n snipe?
im pretty sure u need to be 100% physically fit and no theres no such thing as a civilian centre for such things unless im mistaken. What i do is research some of the stuff needed to be learnt when becoming a sniper such as how MOA (minute of ange) works adjusting for wind/ elevation stuff like that and then i add that to my target shooting at my club.
@littlelyttle RAAF basic training may not be as hard as Army's but it is more mentally demanding. If you have such a narrow vision that physical training and fitness is all that it takes to serve the military, sorry my friend, you are not ready to join Defence.
@littlelyttle How ignorant can you be? The Air Force does their part. Congratulations, you're in the Army, you're such a hard-ass. The REAL Soldiers don't go on YouTube bragging. Grow the Fuck up and stop embarrassing youself.
@littlelyttle If you didn't have the air watching your ass all the time you'd be dead. Grow some respect for the men and women flying above you. Their like angels to you mate. Angels.
ADGs are somewhat different (despite appearances) from an ECN 343 rifleman. And yes, they can apply for SF Selection without needing to do any army training.
After you do 6 mounths of trainning in Edenbourgh (cant spell) in South Australia you can be posted anywhere in Australia but try and get overseas all depending on what your doing
really? what u need??? im 13 and i would like to become one. i have ever since the age of 13 so u need to tell me everthing. if its too much then u can send a personal message. thanks alot
GO AIRFORCE!
Army Sucks, and don't get me started on the Navy!

Are adgies 343-2 rifleman standard? Can they apply for commandos without doing army infantry training?
