I think this band puts so much emotion into what they do (hence the term emo) it comes through the music, and if you're not ready for it well... I first heard these guys a long time ago and i wasn't really a fan, then i found myself in this really shitty place and i went back to them, and found i loved them. If you think they promote suicide, go look at "My Chemical Romance - Gerard Way's inspirational Quotes" They saved my life and they've saved many others.

what the daily mail said was a bunch a bull shit! my chemical romance has never been about promoting self harm or even being emo. in their lives shows they tell you if you are depressed or suicidal to get help and they even give out numbers for suicide hotlines. there are lyrics in their songs such as "I am not afraid to keep on living i am not afraid to walk this world alone" and We'll carry on. The reason they started the band in the first was to SAVE LIVES and they have saved many lives.

I think this band puts so much emotion into what they do (hence the term emo) it comes through the music, and if you're not ready for it well... I first heard these guys a long time ago and i wasn't really a fan, then i found myself in this really shitty place and i went back to them, and found i loved them. Listen. I'm 13. My favorite band is My Chemical Romance. I know that this band would never ever ever ask their fans to do anything like this. This band saves lives. Your daughter and i have a lot in common from what i hear. I used to cut myself. I was depressed. I was suicidal. You know what got me out of my depression? My Chemical Romance. Their lyrics preach self love, not harm. They make me feel like i'm not alone, and that i will survive. If you can't see that, then you need to stop talking.

Um, it's MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE!!!! The best band in the world who HELP people get over depression and teach them that life is hard and help them to understand how to get through all the bad things. But the main thing i would agree with is that what is loosely termed EMO is NOT the bands or even the style as such (although that has developed over the years).EMO is the collective group of people who have adopted a certain way of behaving.So first of all MCR arent emo neither are many bands out there.Just EMO people choose to listen to them and misinterpret the lyrics.All i can say is why act sad or try and look depressed to appear hot.Go goth XD

Now reading a lot of the comments i think a lot of guys are being quite unfair.First of all i am a massive fan of MCR and an avid member of the MCRMY.I am also a father so i have the advantage of being able to understand both sides.She has not done research merely qouting daily mail.She is obviously worried about her daughter who it seems is interpreting the lyrics incorrectly quite possibly.But end of the day it was a few years ago and im sure her daughter is fine now

I'm 13 as well and there r some things I'd like to point out. 1) It's My Chemical Romance, and I'm a huge fan. 2) They aren't teaching suicide and self harm, in fact, in 1 of their concerts in Canada, they said violence, meaning suicide and self abuse, is never the answer 3) Look at me, I don't let anything tell me drugs, slef abuse, and suicide is ok. For me, music is entertainment and a way to make me happy. Plz, do some research before trying to stop a band.

They formed the band in the first place to get away from the world and make life a whole lot less stressful for themselves and the rest of the world. believe it or not, they've saved lives. they give people who are hurting hope. I'm planning a peace march thingy later this month, if any Revengers, Paraders, or Killjoys want in. Helps if you live near MI, but still.
