  • what the crap?

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE

No one can play a video on a ATARI OR A NES

Videos is such a PS3 And WII Thing

  • Hey dumbass, it's very much possible. There are plenty of examples for the Commodore 64 and the MSX computers as well. Now, the sound chips in the Atari 800 and Commodore 64, and most all 8-bit computers, aren't designed for PCM playback, but you're hearing that too.

If you were truly a "computer geek", you would know that the most of the limitations of a machine are determined by programmers, and not the hardware itself.

  • I am only a WINDOWS and MAC Computer geek :P

  • @Mrcomputergeek1 IS REAL.dont you see the resolution its a mixed mode of graphics 9(160x200 pixels) of the atari xl with other mode of (80x200 pixels) in real time you see the 2 images at the same time becouse ANTIC the graphics processor of the atari had this bug.ITS AMAZING a PC needs to play a low profile mpg1 320x240 a Pentium 200Mhz Class , anda a ATARI 800XL had 1.7mhz 6502 CPU.good programmers, good hardware (jeff miner thanks)

  • Wow. Worst video capture EVER.

  • wow mental interlace colour video on 800xl

  • HOLY MOLY FAZOLIS!!! *faints*

But dude, that was awesome. I hated Atari because of their 2600 PacMan port, but now, I love 'em.

  • SPONGEBOB SEIZUREPANTS!

    JK

But that was pretty freaking awesome. Never expected that good sound quality for an Atari 800xl. If somebody programmed this technology back then for that and it sold well, then we would be looking at a very different era of computing and gaming.

  • wow that's awesome. I just had a 800xl when I was a child so I have no idea how to make this one.

  • That's about what it looked like when they ported spongebob episodes to the Game Boy Advanced.

  • No, the episodes were just below YouTube quality.

  • then why the fuck we need nintendo for? ATARI RULES!!!

  • Freakin' awesome

  • Yes good hardware sio2usb - but price..... sorry for me it's too expensive!

  • Interface IDEA/KMK has 2 mode of work a)in emulation (256 bytes per sectors) Old 2.5 HDD: DOS writing: 8713.666 B/sek. DOS reading: 36714.887 B/sek DOS average: 22714.276 B/sek For CF card (256MB KINGSTON): DOS writing: 14269.1046 B/sek DOS reading: 41892.6276 B/sek DOS average: 28080.8661 B/sek b) in Real mode (512 bytes per sectors) 50-80 kilobyte/sek Testing by RW-TEST in Sparta Dos X (You Can find this software on drac030*krap*pl/rwtest.arc)
  • Interesting interface and works with SpartaDOS. It's a pity there is no commercial way of this prodcut in USA. Maybe someone of the designers authors could talk with Steve from USA w*atarimax*com His shop is very popular for Atari american users.

  • Hehe - I build this Interface in Poland. And more hardware modyfication ;) like sio2ide, sio2sd, ext ram, stereo, covox etc...

  • There are a lot of Atarian people who find continuously this type of hardware. That's the reason why SIO2PC, SIO2USB and MyIDE sells a lot. You don't need to assembly them, only post the electrical design and Steve will do the rest. Really we want all these Polish tech. :) Thanks for the effort!

  • Sorry no way! Documentation for this hardware is not free.

  • A web store that Atarians could visit will be a good idea. This year Mr.Atari-Steve will launch the MyIDE+Flashcart easy internal adaptor, 100% compatibility and LBA support. Otherside, at November great SIO2USB devive will be launched in Germany. Good news!

  • I guess you used MyIDE Hard drive to store the large movie file on?

  • Yes, it's a very high speed transfer of data

  • Myide and High speed?! Try IDEA/KMK interface!!!!

  • Well, that sounds interesting. MyIDE+Flashcart works at the maximun of 60-64Kb/seg transfer. What is the top for IDEA/KMK? Is it a commercial interface available for the community?

  • OMG Great programming for atari, i bet this was the new HDTV thing in them days!!

  • Er, it would have been the new HDTV thing back then, if anyone had thought to program this back then. Even digitizing that much video was an expensive proposition, to say nothing of actually playing it.
