  • where's laura?

  • Groovie pants, Lady!

  • What a fun commercial! It's a minute long, but it doesn't feel that way, and Dick, as someone else mentioned earlier, is so casual at pitching this camera. He mentions the size of the camera and the prices...commercials back in the day were so much more...honest, lol.

  • I used 110 film as a kid in the mid-1990s (don't ask why). I always liked it because of the cool little thing it had, such as the "x"s one saw once they'd taken all the photos on the cartridge.

  • i have one i got one e-bay its great thanks henry walsh

  • Kodak quit making the film about a year ago. You can still get it developed. Everyone had one of these. Pictures werent' bad but the negative was so small you couldn't get decent enlargements. Still better than the disc camera.

  • @patrick9648 really? hadn't realized they were still making it that recently... I think I have one similar if not identical to the one in this commercial, I'm guessing a lot of kids ended up with their parents Instamatic.

  • Lol so this is the equivilent of Ashton Kutcher's Nikon camera commercials today.

  • @EM100320 Except this is better. :)

  • I still have mine !!!

  • @4933juju Didn't these ones take MagiCubes ? I know that there were flashcubes around for them. i know that both would get warm, but as i recall, the flash ones would get warmer than the Magi ones would.

  • Van Dyke is so skilled at making his pitch look casual and spontaneous, like that bit of business of "discovering" the camera in his pocket. Having said that - the film negatives of these pocket instamatics were ludicrously small; not great for photo clarity.

  • With the holiday theme in there, did TV Land used to show this only around Christmas time?

  • I don't believe they did. But I believe they shot this at his real home.

  • @TELEVISIONARCHIVES It kind of looks like the set from his show The New Dick Van Dyke Show, I think Hope Lang was also in it.

  • lol

  • The last little jingle there sounded like Raymond Scott. Check out the album Manhattan Research, Inc. on iTunes if you like that stuff.

  • Wal-Mart here in Spokane still carries film for these things, believe it or not. I can't get any 35mm b&w, but they carry film for this. haven't seen any flashcubes though.

  • in thease ages that would be like OMG
