  • I am a gay Christian. The Bible, when taken in context, does not condemn same-sex relationships. For resources, you could check out the created gay dot com website. You do not need to give up your faith, because of your sexuality. Faith and sexuality are both integral parts of who people are. Big Hug! :-D

  • @garysdeskcom Thanks for the additional information!

I shall look into that website and do some research.

Oh and big hug right back at ya! =)

  • The early Christians were fed to the lions and rightfully so, I feel for those poor cats it must have given them incurable indigestion and gas! If your church eagerly accepts your money but not who you are show your backside to them....You thunk!

  • @MusicJunkie777

    Ciao Bello!

Would you believe "Amico Mio" if Bobby Griffiths' (Prayers for Bobby) old lover/boyfriend "Blaine" here, told you that even after all the pain that "errant""Christianist" thinking caused him, me that is, that I went on to study "Theology" and ended up a follower of "Christ"?

  • @MusicJunkie777

The laws or "proscriptions" that you are referencing out of "Leviticus" are a part of "Mosaic Law" (Handed down by Moses) no Christian sect on the planet observes them all! Find a "Spiritual" Community that loves Christ and his "Good News" , and will love and embrace you as you are! And feel free to talk to me!

  • @blainebill39 Thanks for the support! =)

Love and kisses from me in the UK! <3

  • @MusicJunkie777

Look into the Monarch that commissioned one of the the most beautiful works in the English language the "King James Bible"! Much extant (surviving) documentation would suggest a same sex relationship to his "Groomsman" George Villiers, who James I elevated to the Peerage by creating him "Duke of Buckingham"!

    Ciao Bello!

In all of this wonderfully healthy exchange I neglected to mention, as my friend below (RCSVirginia) would normally say he's seen me do so rather shamelessly, and that is as the onetime young lover of Bobby Griffith (Prayers for Bobby) I truly understand what you've been up against! And you absolutely shouldn't have to give up your faith! But arm yourself with a bit of history!

  • I think that it is great that you are thinking for yourself and trying to make up your own mind. It is so important to do research and to learn about a subject before deciding what you truly believe and what you want to do. It sounds like you are doing that. You are, also, right that you should not have to choose between your own true self and your religion. Good luck!

  • @RCSVirginia Wow, thank you so much for that insightful and interesting comment.

I shall take on board all you have said and explore it further.

    Thank you. =)

  • I am not that familiar with the United Kingdom. There are churches in the United States that are welcoming to the gay community: the Episcopal Church, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, the Presbyterian Church, the Metropolitan Community Church, the Universalist Unitarian Church and the United Church of Christ. Not only do these churches accept gay people, but, they, also, have gay clergy. My guess would be that there are similar churches in your country.

  • EVERYONE WHO AGREES WITH THIS GAY GUY THAN YOU ARE ALSO GAY

  • @vidaminfeeder2 Funny that. I've checked out your recent activity and it seems that you've stated very similar comments on several other videos like mine.

Also, I'm not deaf and therefore don't need you type in capitals in order to understand your 'comment'.

    Thanks. ;)

  • @MusicJunkie777 funny that and i have checked you recent activity and you have been gay i have figured out the problem your brain cells are dying

  • @vidaminfeeder2 My brain cells are dying? Yet you can't form a sentence without correct punctuality?

    Go away child.

  • See, people always say it's in the bible that homosexuality sends you to hell. However, the VERY next verse says that if you eat pork, you're doing the equivalent of being gay. Hm, looks like bacon and gays are the same amount of terribleness.

Or maybe they're both fine today.

  • @TwistedWalruse That's a really unique yet sensible way of looking at it!

I do agree with you though - the whole stereotypical issue revolving around the bible being against homosexuality is highly over-criticised.

I guess at the point of doing the video, I hadn't researched into the matter as much as I should have.

But the way you summed it up; I couldn't have done it better myself.

Thanks for the highly educational comment! =]

  • @MusicJunkie777 Of course. I'm not gay, myself, but I think Homosexuality's fine.

  • I'll be honest : I feel lucky that I have the privilege not to need religion in my life. It's a privilege, because you need to feel strong enough to go your own way, to make your own mind without any guidance.

  • Having said that, I can only say this :

It's good that you make a big difference between faith and religion. Faith is what you live on your own, religion is what mankind does of faith. I know catholicism doesn't have the subject in their bible, but some are still against... It depends with whom you associate, concerning your faith. I know a future priest that is open to homosexuality. Times are changing, and I hope you will grasp the wind of it in your svelte hands :)

    I wish you the best~

  • I think you should do what you believe in and not worry about what people think. All that matters is what you think about yourself, and if you're happy then continue doing what you're doing. :)

  • @Dmfriend26 I guess you are right. I just feel better now I've actually voiced my thoughts. Even if it's to a bunch of people on YouTube I don't even know!

I'm real bad at bottling things up. =/

Thanks for the nice comment and advice. =] It means a lot!

  • I would suggest parts of the book "Betre død enn homofil?", written by a young, Christian gay Norwegian, for you, but it hasn't, as far as I know, been translated. He does, however, discuss that it's fine to be Christian and Gay at the same time.

Though queer myself, I'm not Christian, so I can't relate. I guess it's something you have to find out yourself.

  • @purplebookfairy Ah, thanks for that.

I might see if I could possibly translate the book online and give it a read.

    I didn't know you was gay. =)

Thank you again for the advice. ^^

  • @MusicJunkie777 Oh, but I'm not gay. ;) I'm in general not very crazy about labels, but queer is OK. (If you absolutely feel the need to label me, try pansexual, though I do prefer queer).

  • @purplebookfairy Oh! I see, sorry about that.

Boy is my face red! >.<

I don't like to label people either - I think that's a nice quality in a person to have. =)

  • @purplebookfairy Interesting :D As I have a keen interest in all sexual lifestyles and sexuality from a social standpoint, Labels are something I see often in the literature. I guess it's part of the Stigma associated to sexuality. My best answer to this is to call you by your name (which I don't know!)... we're all different, and it's OKAY! :D

  • @lilboi2ss Oh wow, thank you.

I think I may do in future. I was just a little apprehensive about this one.

  • Im usually against organized religion because of all the politics within, but im not against religion. Its just amazing though that these religious orgaizations start wars and hate groups in the name of 'god'. Having a homosexual brother I know its not something you choose to be. So find a church comfortable with who you are. The church I go to is small and accepts homosexuals.. its methodist. I say continue with who you are and go to church.

  • @TheLadyKaylah Thanks for the comment. =)

I didn't know your brother was gay.

I think in the long run, I will do just as you say. I just felt it was an issue that I needed to raise.

It felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders after doing the video to be honest.

But thanks for commenting. I really appreciate it. =]
