Aaliyah was very overworked and tired. I agree with Timbaland to an extent. The album should have came out a year later so Aaliyah could focus on her movies. Her filming three movies, and promoting an album was definetly overwhelming for a 22 year old.

I agree with you on the fact this wasn't the best tribute, but as far as Aaliyah the person ... I have heard many stories of people discussing private moments with Aaliyah and her personality with MANY examples. I don't know what more could you possibly want. As for her family, it's not easy to deal with a death of a child and sibling and even 10 years later it still gets hard. That's their decision and I respect it. I have a pretty good grasp of who Aaliyah was.

Weather or not the Label were rushing the project wasnt really the problem though, the actual root cause of this whole heartbreaking tragedy is how small the PLANE was, so many artists have crazy schedules flying from country to country which can't be avoided. It saddens me so much that a bigger,better plane couldn't have been used to accomodate them. I miss her dearly, I want to wake up from this nightmare and for her (and those she was travelling with) to be OK :(
Damon looks horrible. I read an old Sister 2 Sister magazine and I believed he truly loved her, he said she was very much into the afterlife and she taught him things about it, so he was able cope and understand. He also said he had no control over the planes used for the shoot that was up to the crew and the video said that they were supposed to take a bigger plane home but ended up with that little one...somethings are just in the will of God.

@celeste0898 Tim had some issues with blackground, he sue them for taking some money or something like that, you can read on blackground wikipedia site. Blackground was Aaliyahs family so probably they had an argue about something connected to working together for the label, or for blackground in general

Normally her mom or brother would have been with her but her brother was away in school and her mom was recovering from laser eye surgery which is why "FAMILY FRIEND KEITH WALLACE" agreed to accompany her to the Bahamas and ultimately lost his life as well. I wasn't as fond of her third album as I was her first and second, but I'm glad she recorded a final album before she died. There were some brilliant singles on her last album. Loved Rock the Boat especially.

They promised never before seen footage and interviews. What a let down. There was nothing new. Aaliyah was very overworked and tired. I agree with Timbaland to an extent. The album should have came out a year later so Aaliyah could focus on her movies. Her filming three movies, and promoting an album was definetly overwhelming for a 22 year old.

I agree with you on the fact this wasn't the best tribute, but as far as Aaliyah the person ... I have heard many stories of people discussing private moments with Aaliyah and her personality with MANY examples. I don't know what more could you possibly want. As for her family, it's not easy to deal with a death of a child and sibling and even 10 years later it still gets hard. That's their decision and I respect it. I have a pretty good grasp of who Aaliyah was.

Note...they didn't interview the people who saw the supposed argument with the pilot...or those who saw the crash...shady. There is a mad skip in that story. There was mad tension at the time, and all one can see is the editing of a truth. Watch Missy Elliots face, which is somewhat remeniscent of Snoop sitting behind Tupac when 'Pac was talking truth. This extra plane bit..and the story and this going to the bar..telling there is major gaps in the finale of Aaliyah in her crew.

Within the last two years folks who get video recorded keep talking about a boat that was to take the crew to another part of the island for take off. Their is this new promotion in folks to say they were not there. So either there witness to this whole are there were not. That's the first thing to settle. One Primary witness is Gloria Knowles/Abaco LTD.

Weather or not the Label were rushing the project wasnt really the problem though, the actual root cause of this whole heartbreaking tragedy is how small the PLANE was, so many artists have crazy schedules flying from country to country which can't be avoided. It saddens me so much that a bigger,better plane couldn't have been used to accomodate them. I miss her dearly, I want to wake up from this nightmare and for her (and those she was travelling with) to be OK :(

Damon looks horrible. I read an old Sister 2 Sister magazine and I believed he truly loved her, he said she was very much into the afterlife and she taught him things about it, so he was able cope and understand. @swi45 FYI The reason why Damon didn't got to the Bahamas with Aaliyah was because he had to be in court the next day and his son had football practice over the weekend! Normally her mom or brother would have been with her but her brother was away in school and her mom was recovering from laser eye surgery which is why "FAMILY FRIEND KEITH WALLACE" agreed to accompany her to the Bahamas and ultimately lost his life as well. Damon really let himself go. He looked so happy in those pictures with Aaliyah and then when she passed it's like he didn't care about anything anymore.

yeah it`s true like say timbo: we lost music like say fatima robinson: we lost a beautiful and gorgeus human been, with aaliyah`s death i feel that died part of my child with her ....cause she was so profesional, so pretty and magic like say one of the coreographers, maybe like aaliyah it`s never gonna exist other artist, the music today it`s so, so horrible, so bad artist`s except: timbo, missy, i miss her and i gonna miss her always, nice actress to damn she was fantastic person.

timbaland was talking as far as movies yes brandy on tv but the only MOVIE she was in was i know what you did last summer,,,and not tv movies like double plat and cinderella still good but not the siler screen. and He was talking about our generation out of her peer monica,mya,dc,dru hill, etc NOONE WAS DOING IT

I was glad that BET did a tribute to Aaliyah BUUUUTTTTT lol I felt like it could have been better...I really want to hear from her parents, and her brother...NOW...looking back on what happend....and some of Aaliyah's friends that are not in the industry. They could have showed more interviews rather than playing her music videos the whole time...It would be cool if they came out with an album for Aaliyah with new tracks

@enclosure22 I agree - I was hoping for that too. I don't think I have ever seen an interview with her parents since this happened - I could be wrong - but it would be nice to see how they are doing, and have them share their memories of her. Rashad has a couple of clips and is also on Twitter. Hope they are all doing well. God Bless.

its been 10 years and I cant believe.. especially after watching this documentary... she was so busy with so many things going on, it was just another step.. rock the boat video than this and that, so many plans... how tragic for someone who celebrated and loved life so much....

@evilzlatan Her family really dont talk about her publicly. I know that they have a lot of disagreements w/ her label about certain things. Rashad said on her website that the cant do public memorials for her b/c of her record label. So I guess thats why we never hear from them. Plus they probably still in disbelief.

The girl was truly blessed she came out at the right time in the 90s as she had people checking for her and by early 00s she was known worldwide which makes it even more sad.

I really felt like this was the best tribute of her and i mean i know a lot of people cried watching this and i know i did because hearing and watching it will make u cry because of somebody u didn't get to meet them r tell em that u made a impact on my life. Aaliyah i will never forget u and i love ur music nd ur movie romeo must die u have made me look back and say hey go back to school and get straight a's nd start my music career. I wasn't as fond of her third album as I was her first and second, but I'm glad she recorded a final album before she died. There were some brilliant singles on her last album. Loved Rock the Boat especially.

@kidbk347 um sweetie the plane crashed Dame Dash had nothing to do with Aaliyah's death, yes they were dating and yes she talked to him before the plane crashed but that doesn't mean he had anything to do with it.

They promised never before seen footage and interviews. What a let down. There was nothing new. If I was there giving an interview with Timbo I would ask him much better questions such as what else is left in the vault!!!! Grrr this is frustrating that he never gets asked this. I think there is nothing left to share of Aaliyah. Everything we have is all that was recorded which sucks.

@eyzonm3 there is unreleased music, timbaland said in an interview after she passed that there is 57 left over tracks from when she was recording the One In A Million album, i don't think they will be getting released any time soon though, due to legalities with the label ;(
