This is so cool. I wanted to build one in metal shop when I was a kid, and the teacher thought I was nuts. They called me "steam engine" for the rest of the semester. In hindsight, the teacher didn't know squat!
@Mr572u you should have made the parts on the machines in class secretly while working on your other projects and then assembled it at home, and then after that you should have brought it to school and rubbed it in your teacher's face :P
@aarojohannes All steam engines miniature or otherwise are fascinating, but this one has that great sound and low revving, doesn't matter if it's run by steam or air, it's the sound and low revving that makes it more interesting than most miniatures, very well done.
This is a awesome engine! Very nice! Love the chuff noise

Nice job, man.
Yritän väsätä ite ensimmäistä vastaavan tyyppistä laitetta, mutta siinä on vaan hirviän palio pienempi sylinteri. =)

Yes, compressed air indeed. I do not plan steam boiler; I should like to keep my house livable.
aarojohannes 3 years ago
this is a tip try to increace the cranckshafts diameter to use less air and increase the performance of the engine

Yes, it is, but it is the only way to keep it running.

The timing is a little off

Gotta love that flywheel. What is it, 11 lbs? Seems like it's running off of compressed air. What kind of boiler do you plan on making?
