The easiest way to get a good seat is show up at the airport 4 hours ahead

Last year when I was at the STL airport we got there at 3:00 AM and our flight left at 7:00 AM so we got good seats in the front

BTW we WEREN'T flying South West

We were flying USA 3000

Try either getting to the airport a little earlier or check in online. Showing up at the airport 10 minutes before the flight leaves will ALWAYS get you a lousy seat.
