@timeboy09 it wasn't wilf's fault. in fact he begged the doctor not to let him out, because he didn't really understand the regeneration of timelords (he only knew the 10th doctor) and thought if the doctor set off the radioactive stuff, he would die, and he didn't want that. he said he didn't mind dying in the doctor's place, which was very noble of him. for that reason i dont begrudge wilf at all.

I really doubt its about Midnight creature. The prophecy was "it is returning through the dark", not "it is returning through the light". It has more likely something to do with the void. And it was "he will knock 4 times", not "it will knock..." so this part is definitely about the Master

No, apparently Gramps got himself trapped in this booth, and knocked 4 times to get the doctor's attention just when the doc thought he survived the knocking 4 times of the master (turned out that the master had the 4-beat in his head is completely coincidental to the 4 beat in the prophecy). The doctor sacrificed himself to save gramps.
