  • 8:28 Unchristian way? Is Jane saying that if you're not a christian, then you're immoral? Talk about prejudice

  • she is by far my favorite lizzy

  • i think it really sucks that there is virtually no other place to watch this series online, and most of the parts here were deleted for copyright infringement

  • I'm enjoying all this social intercourse!

  • Good attempt ech character trying to do justice except few!!

  • Well I for one loved this Mr. Wickham. The actor playing Mr. Wickham here did an artful job of getting Lizzie's sympathies. Mr. Wickham is wonderfully portrayed as a crafty and polished slime bucket. In my opinion he discloses his "story" so quickly to Lizzie because he picked up on her disdain for Mr. Darcy, and he's not the one to waste any time preying on a vulnerable young woman... Great scene and great all-round acting. Love the book and love this adaption!

  • @JudiTheWitch if you could see how these movies are mad you would not give the actors any real credit for the most part they are led by the hand and practically used as puppets the real credit is to those that you never see actors are ten a penny

  • Lidya and kitty are extremly silly and disagreeable girl. I cant totally understand why MR Darcy developed such a poor view of Lizzy's family.

  • Collins: "If my dear cousin will consent to release me."

Lizzy: (smiling, wanting nothing more than to be rid of him) "With all my heart, sir."

    LOL!!

  • i love mr collin in this! i;m sorry but i do! he's just brilliant!!!

    best portrayal i've seen!

  • 2:08 awwww

    HANDSOMEEEEE!!

  • STOP COMPARING PRIDE AND PREJUDICE TO BRIDGET JONES' DIARY! I know it was based on pride and prejudice but PLEASE stop.

  • @sophmeister303 yes please STOOOOOOOOP jane austen does not deserve this.

  • Jane and Elizabeth are so pretty in this version!

  • Can you tell me what happens in part 1 of episode 2?

I've seen the 2010 version so just a reminder would catch me up

(anyone know where to watch part 1 of ep 2?)

  • Collin's face is enough to sicken me to death..

  • When Denny was introducing the Bennett girls to Wikham, the way he said ''Ms. Lydia Bennett'' was said in such a way as if to depict annoyance or contempt :P

  • Jane is so ugly in this version.

  • look at lizzy! her beautiful eyes! make my life upside down!...........what an eye!..........i wish i could have u!

  • I love Mr. Darcy look at 2:09 he like " What the Fuck!?! YOU!!!!!!"

  • It is so cool! Mr. Darcy said on the first ball that he doesn't care for ladies who are slighted by other men. The moment Wickham starts to "like" Lizzy Darcy is very jealous and does care for her. Even a bit before but not that much..... Oh well, envious men. ;-)

  • Denny looks WAY better that Wickham. Way better. although it might only be because Denny isn't bad and Wickham is.....

  • Does anyone know where I can watch part 1?

  • I watched the 2005 adaption before this and I know many people like this better but I don't. Aswell as that the 2005 version had far more attractive people. I know it's rather shallow but Jennifer Ehle's continious fake smile throughout this makes me want to punch something

  • @hijlaa

    I totally agree with you.

  • @hijlaa

well,i i'd love to say that i totally disagree, but i can't. i think Elizabeth,Darcy and Bingley are perfect here, unlike in the 2005 adaptation, but in newer adaptation Jane,Mary and the Bingley sisters are way better looking. But that;s the only thing that I mind, because this version is just so much better and Coin Firth is perfect

  • I think he is way too open about his "quarrel" with Darcy and portraying himself being of more importance to his father than his own son is quite strange. he is so full of himself I would find him very unpleasant. It like the first thing he is talking about something I wouldn't reveal to someone I know for such a short time. I back up Jane

  • where the hell is part 1?!

  • LOOVVEEE THIS MOVIE-3! anyone who thinks it's crap...well, you're crap..

ahh and don't forget colin firth mr darcy-3 soo handsome:)

anybody able to upload the missing parts?? :)

  • oooh Whickam! you chariming little devil!

  • Lol at the end Lizzie and Jane are basically having a boy talk and a gossip. Like true sisters.!

  • "The SummerBreakfastRoom" - hahaha they must have very many rooms than...

  • Oh Mr. Darcy is so handsome *-*

  • i can't find the parts of this in any kind of order... it's all messed up.. parts 1 or 2 and then episode 1 or 2 or 5 just jumping around...can't follow it at all.

  • @bronteteri You could try reading the book.

  • @DanceswithPointeShoe I have read all of Jane Austen's books.. still don't mean i can't make sense of how the movie is displayed on here... thank you.

  • this movie is shit

  • @halamadrd So dont watch it..

  • Wickham sucks! Darcy for teh win! ;)

  • brown eyes seem to be popular in P&P

  • Wickham reminds me of John Thornton from North& South. Does anyone think so ..?

  • @0oMarvelo0

I thought John Thornton looked more like the BBC Guy of Gisbourne.

  • @WingCommanderVinyaya lol thats because they are the same person :D

  • @WingCommanderVinyaya maybe because it's the same actor

  • @0oMarvelo0 Oh god don't say that--john is 1 million times better looking and sexier!

  • what is up with Jane's neck?

  • You appreciate what a good job the writers did here when you look at this part of the book. There is virtually NO dialogue until Elizabeth's conversation with Mr. Wickham, but the additional dialogue mixes with the original seamlessly.

  • Omg! Darcys face when he sees mr. Whickam, priceless

  • @Ballet4Everz I knoooooooooooow right!!

  • I could never trust a man who would be willing to divulge such a personal, gossipy story to me upon our first meeting, especially if it would be vindicative on his behalf. It would seem too strange and catty, I'd find Wickham to be offputting though charming. I suppose I'd wind up thinking of him as someone who were too innocent to be reticent, and then I'd still fall into his trap. Sigh.

  • @elginxxxman lol, you sound like you've experienced such a man.

  • no man in this series can hold a candle to mr. darcy.

  • @freeofbags means to suck up and flatter constantly, like collins does

  • hhhhhhhhhhh Wickham yes you are attractive but go away :O stop poising everyone with your good looks and charming manners ;)

  • @sk8ergirl1995 *poisoning

  • 4:18

    goodness, that bulge.

  • @Syzydeh hunging like a dog

  • @Syzydeh aha didn't know what you were talking about till I looked around..

  • I'm sorry, but Mr. Wickham is ugly.. whats the matter with his eyebrows...

  • wickham is a tall freakish gump in this version...it makes it all the much easier to hate him since he has average looks and almost no charms

  • oh my gosh Wickham. Go away.

  • Personnaly, there are three people I want to kill in the film XDDDDD

    1) Whickam XD

    2) Mrs Bennet XDDDD Sh'si so stupid xD Poor Mr bennet when hemarry her XDD The first good thing in there is that they had two pretty daugher, Lizzie and Jane x)

    3) And Mr Collins XDDD He's so stupid >_< xD

  • whatever the intent of the director I find it too obvious and quite wrong to cut to Lydia whenever they speak of a definace of a father; it's almost patronizing to the readers/viewers...sorry. We're not that stupid.

  • this version really works the dramatic irony :\

  • If only Lizzie would listen to the voice of reason.....Jane. Wickham doesn't deserve the title of "Mr." is front of his name. That belongs to Mr. Darcy. Wickham sideburns bug me. and his little sob story. and now i am ranting.

  • Haha, I love how Mr. Collins knows the cost of everything at Rosings Park!!! Other than that, he's such a slimy, creepy man.

  • I don't think Jane's actually pretty, she has more something of a greek beauty or so.

  • @chemical93girl Exactly what I've always thought. And it seems to be a fairly constant factor across the different adaptations, IMO.

  • @freeofbags

It means... you cringe at watching how servile they are. Mr. Collins is always paying compliments to the point of madness.

  • OH MY GOD! Mr. Collins is so obsequious! >:(

  • If we're going to compare Wickhams I MUCH prefer the one from Lost in Austen :D

  • @madeyemolly omg the Wickham from Lost in Austin was a FITTIE!!!! I'd settle for him without a doubt!!! :)

  • Wickham... BOO! HISS!

  • Does anyone please know what that dance they are dancing in the bals in for exempel: Pride and prejudice, Northanger Abbey and Emma? I can see there are some different danec but does anyone please know the names of theese dances? :)

  • @missbs1

One is known as the "Barley Mow" the other "Shrewsbury lasses."

  • that is what their dancing at the Supper party above.

  • Wickham looks like a horse... :P

  • she has the best most presuming facial expression

  • Denny looks way better than Wickham in this version :D

  • @3Annika7

worst miscasting of any role is this version of Mr Wickham. He's supposed to be so handsome and charming and this guys is the polar opposite. Actively ugly and seriously uncharming.

  • @3Annika7 Wikham i handsome enough for a stinky deceitful person :P

  • I don't care for Mr. Whickham... he's very disagreeable in my opinion...

  • @mucly

i think mr whickam is charming enough or handsome enough

  • a ton malaka ton wickam.....

    he's an asshole=p

  • @klarinaki sunfwnw!!! enw o Darcy... <3

  • @miruhanisha Right! many readers have noticed that she resembles Lizzie

  • oh yeah this Collins most definitely reminds me of my homecoming date! *thinks back and shudders* god i'm never letting my friends set me up again!

  • i love jennifer ehle

  • hmm, wickham doesnt really do it for me. he looks like a disappointing mr. bingley (good looking in a sweet way) - a bit unsure of himself and everythign but not very attractive really, and certainly not adorable!

  • Jane is much smarter than Lizzie

  • @vivascargill no I think, Lizzie spectates and then draws conclusions, while Jane goes by intuition, in which case her opinion of Mr. Wickham is absolutely correct.

  • @xxjudesxx But Jane also knows Darcy be better man than he seema--and also maybe I wrote this some place--there is a bit of Lydia jn Darcy Jane would never have jumped to conclusions about Mr. Darcy in fact she doesn't!! Alsowhile you could say Lizzie is a model for Emma Jane is a model for Anne Elliot hey I love them both!

(NB Charlotte also tells Lizzie about Dardy--there is a bit of Lydiia in her)

    Cheers

  • @vivascargill I believe that Lizzie may use her head too much and over think some things. (Though, she also allows her thoughts to be steered by her own feelings.) Jane on the other hand, tries to find the good in everyone and at the same time, not hold them too high in esteem.

  • @ToxisGrey Jane has "candour" (in the 18th century the word meant a disposition to think well of everybody) and Lizzie I think that I can quote the line comes to regret that she has disdained Jane's "generous candour" Jane also knows her own heart! right away no problem--Lizzie does not--in fact she resists knowing it think about it--would Jane EVER be remotely attracted by a loser like Wikham? I think your characterization of Jane is just right but as I wrote--they are 2 types of JA heroines

  • Lydia and Kitty are groupies.

  • Is it me or is Lizzie prettier than Jane?

@Sarandib22 I agree. People who pour out personal problems so quickly, normally want to gain something from you!!

@aliceflamin Yea, I think Keira's Lizzie is better bcuz she's more edgy and awesome!!!

    Still, awesome show!

  • @carmensakura07 i know!! i never got why ppl always thought jane was prettier

  • You crack me up; Well put :)

  • omg Wickham's buddy is HOT.

  • Ehle looks so beautiful when she smiles like this 4:44 :D

I like Keira's Lizzie more though :P Ehle's version is still a little bit... tender LOL

  • I always wished they would've given Denny more speaking parts, I like hearing his voice and in the book, Denny spoke a lot more :(

  • "Out swagger us all" Hehe I thought swagger was a modern term.

  • wickham is nothing compared to Darcy. NOTHING

  • It should also be pointed out that to share confidences with a person, as Wickham does with Lizzy, was considered an intimate thing back then... you didn't talk like that with just anyone. It would have flattered her, led her on, and probably made her feel attached to him, even to trust him. Which, of course, just makes him more of a scoundrel.

  • @evervowed

I agree but just have to add that even in today's society its pretty odd to go on about your private life with someone you just met...as Sarandib22 said, only people who want to gain something from you will do that sort of thing.

  • mary & mr. collins would make a beautiful couple ;D

  • @myheartcandyi know right; they would make a good couple; at least then his wife would like him

  • @myheartcandy

oh,certainly! just imagine how adorable their children would be ;)

  • i hate Wickham ... hes really slimey (eeeew) and Mr Collins ahhh ... priceless!!

  • @established1995x

i think it is jus the actor

i prefer the 2005 mr wickham

  • Ohh I just realized that "Kitty" is short for Catherine...lol

  • You know what...the only reason why Elizabeth doesn't like Darcy at this point is b/c he dissed her by not dancing with her at first and claiming that she wasn't so hot in olden day terms.

Her pride was hurt and she became all prejudiced against him. ( love my corney play on the title).

  • @grayeyes043 Yu're right, and there is another reason too why she hated him, its because EVERYONE used to call him proud and disdained, and therefore, his reputation given by people affected her too..

  • i can't stand mr.wickham.......the mr.wickham in the 2005 version is much more handsome but this one in this version is more sleezy

  • The girl who plays Lydia reminds me very much of the actress Helena Bonham-Carter..:)

  • This Mr. Wickham looks like Michael Nesmith of the Monkees w/o the lovely knitted hat. lol :P

  • goodness, why would you start putting someone down when you just met someone else..? so lowly of wickham

  • mr wickham is charming :)

  • This Wickham looks like he would seduce you and then break your heart... great casting in my opinion.

  • the funny thing is, the guy that plays Mr Collins is actually not bad looking when he's not in this character.

  • Er, he's definitely not as grouse as in this movie, but he's not exactly what I'd call a sex-symbol...

  • I guess the time period left the raising of the children to the mother but I find the father so absent. why didn't he take charge of stupid lydia and kitty.

  • @tandiwe36 yes mr bennet is actually quite a rubbish father. he seems to care only for lizzy, he calls his daughters silly and stupid. mrs bennet isn't much better - her favourite is lydia, who she spoils shamelessly. hopefully darcy and lizzy will be better parents!!!!

  • True. He's always complaining and wants to be left alone... and the mother, as annoying as she is, has to deal with all five girls on her own!

  • @andana3 - Lizzie even warms him sincerely later and he doesn't listen.

  • I'd choose Mr. Darcy over Wickham any day... Why doesn't Elizabeth realize that wickham is just gossiping and such a man should not be trusted?? i mean he says he doesn't want to publicly humiliate darcy but he's talking about darcy to a girl he barely even knows

  • when you are prejudiced against someone you tend to want to know bad things about that person and believe them :)

  • @Xenonnex - yes, very true

  • @MagicMirrorOnTheWall Well remember that her dealing with Darcy so far had been harsh. I mean he can been a jerk so far. So when Wickhan shares his heard about something that happened in his past that he says he isn't upset about. She believes him.

  • @MagicMirrorOnTheWall shut the fuck up

  • Aw, poor Lizzy. Left to Mr.Collin's. Painful indeed :P

  • Collin Furth is very Handsome!! <3

  • I notice this every time, but at 4:19 that guy's bulge is so distracting! right in Lydia's face!

Sorry I had to say it!

    I love Pride and Prejudice!

  • @MRDEREVKO I was drinking when I read that. HAHAHAHAH

  • When Wickham looks over at Elizabeth with that stupid mock sincere expression.. all flirtatious, I just want to slap him! UGH

  • Wickham's exceedingly unattractive, I prefer Darcy.

  • I agree and he has a huge head!!!

  • Totally! but the weird thing is, in the novel Wickham was supposed to be extremely good looking, maybe they wanted Mr Darcy to stand out more.

  • I don't know if I believe this Mr. Wickam - he just seems older as in late 30's older where in the book it seemed like he was younger

  • Wickham is sexy but Darcy in a coat with a top hat on a horse is sexier

  • im so glad someone gets it =D

  • I love this version, and I find it almost perfect, even in casting. The actor who plays Wickham does it very well, but I have to say that in terms of his physical appeal (something he is supposed to have in abundance, according to the book) this actor just does nothing for me.

  • i agree.. there seems to be just something missing... i love the guy who plays whickham in lost in austen.. he to me seems almost the perfect whickham..

  • you are so wise

  • @lonesomelittlegirl

AMEN to that! LOL! Woooooosh that man is gorgeous!

  • @lonesomelittlegirl

yes...and i bet he has an awesome cock..

  • how can wickham be so amiable outside when he knows he is in the wrong?????

  • @CrunkAddict

If only you knew what lizzie was really thinking throughout.

  • @CrunkAddict : That was immensly amusing x)

  • I hate how he lies so easily!!!

  • I hate Wickham, i don't get why Lizzy likes him.

  • i have benn saying that since i saw this lol

  • @Guusjj15 - I don't know if she really liked him or she wanted to like anyone who didn't like Darcy.

  • @tandiwe36:

DUDE. THAT WAS SO MY ARGUMENT FOR MY ESSAY FOR THIS NOVEL.

  • @thehushkat - sounds like a valid argument to me

  • He is amiable. On the outside.

  • in Lost in Austen, Mr Collins is the creepiest, perviest guy I have ever seen. So glad this Mr. Collins is not that!

  • Sarandib22: I couldn't agree more. They often do so to mislead the opinion's of others.

  • I hate Wikham!

  • Beware anyone who casually confides their woes to you the first day they meet you. There's always something they're looking to gain from it. Someone who wouldn't gain from it wouldn't so quickly spill something so private and personal. I've learned that lesson personally, multiple times. It's NEVER a good sign.

  • @Sarandib22 Too right...in whatever version, this one, the 2005 film or the novel, you basically notice immediately that Wickham is planning something or has something else in mind than just confying to Lizzie...only she doesn't notice...

  • @Sarandib22 Hah, that dilemma is reminiscent of one of the characters in The Great Gatsby. (I never read the whole book, just a snippet, but still.) =]

  • @Sarandib22 you are so right! I'm going to think about that..

  • @Sarandib22

The only time I open up to people is when I see that they are troubled.I do this in order to show they can trust me if they need a friend lean on. The only thing I gain is a deep level of friendship. Never walk away from a chance to love another humanbeing. There is more then one kind of love. Romantic love is not the only kind of love to live for.

  • am i the only one who sees how big their crotches look in those pants

  • at least they're not wearing codpieces.

    ...

    just sayin

  • I think it's because there's a flap on the front of their pants instead of a fly. The fabric buttons on the sides, and can kind of sag. You can see it on some pants on renaissance clothing websites too.

  • I dislike...no no. I despise, hate, loathe and completely HATE Mr. Wickham! (Well, I'll give credit to the actor for a good job at making him so dispicable)

  • I love tall hats...I wish men stood wore them

  • UnobtrusivImaginator thanks for the tips

  • Yeah, I think it's just the HQ version that doesn't work. the normal small screen's fine with mine.

  • thanks for the tip... XD

  • Thanks for the tip - twice now when watching this, I have had to skip this part, but not anymore :)

  • yeah...its showing an error occured...plz fix this...tq

  • The screen just says "an error ocurred, please try again later." I think I'm going to go
