@IamVendel You have to keep in mind that there are two versions of the Highwind scene.. Whether or not Cloud shows any romantic inclination to Tifa depends on the PLAYER, so while in your playthrough Cloud may have 'revealed his feelings' to Tifa, as you say, in my playthrough, such a thing did not happen. Using that as evidence is inconclusive seeing as how it varies from player to player. & yes he was 16 when he liked Tifa. He met Aerith 5 years later. Enough time to get over a crush, yes?

Then the players has two option of conversation. 1st option, "Let's hope so." 2nd option, "I don't know"
If a player chooses the first option. Marelene will be happy and said to Cloud that "...I won't tell Tifa." but if you choose the 2nd option, Marelene will be angry and tell you that, "... You dumy.."

@IamVendel You have to keep in mind that there are two versions of the Highwind scene.. Whether or not Cloud shows any romantic inclination to Tifa depends on the PLAYER, so while in your playthrough Cloud may have 'revealed his feelings' to Tifa, as you say, in my playthrough, such a thing did not happen. Using that as evidence is inconclusive seeing as how it varies from player to player. & yes he was 16 when he liked Tifa. He met Aerith 5 years later. Enough time to get over a crush, yes?

@difinity The HW scene is dependent on Tifa's feelings. Not Cloud's. And it really doesn't matter what scene YOU got. Because they do reveal their feelings to each other. Just like Vincent and Yuffie join the party. Just like the Wutai sidequest are done.
And say it with me. Cloud was "in love" with Tifa when he was 16. And no he didn't "get over it". He was injected with Jenova cells and had his mind shattered. When he is pieced back together he picks up right where he left off.

Then the players has two option of conversation. 1st option, "Let's hope so." 2nd option, "I don't know"

Cloud does not mean a romantic feeling for Tifa.. From the ending of the game. He saw Aerith's hand pulling him out. At the end Tifa was stretching her hand too.. But Cloud said to Tifa that he wants to find the Promise Land because he wants to be with Aerith again..
And then Tifa smiles to Cloud that.. "let's go meet her.." and Cloud is silence again..

According to the review of Squarenix, Cloud doesn't live together w/ Tifa. He lives in the church, where Aerith grows her flowers..
Even Tifa said that to Marelene that Cloud lives in the Church!!

And again this supposed source that you seem to have just made up. Listen. Cloud lives at 7th Heaven. He has lived there since it was built. And he lives there after AC. He will continue to live there unless it is destroyed or he moves his family in a future installment.

@aeris14 The church is not his home. His home is with his family. This is made plain enough in CoT and AC. Cloud is living in the church because he feels like he can't protect his family, that he is a failure etc. And once his guilt is lifted? He goes right back home to where he belongs. With Tifa and the children.
On a side note. Cloud staying in the church for that short time is never described as a good thing. In universe or by the creators.

@IamVendel Umm absolutely not. Where does it say that they are lovers? Are they raising the children together? Yes, along with BARRET. Why does everyone always seem to forget about him? He is Marlene's FATHER. Cloud is not the father figure in this family. Tifa and Cloud may live together but that doesn't mean they're romantically involved.

@difinity Where? Every single Ultimania about or with FFVII section. Creator interviews. Characters in universe discussions on C/T.
Barret is not raising Marlene. C/T are. Barret moved out of 7th Heaven one week after it opened. Nearly 4 years later he hasn't returned.
When the 7th Heaven family is discussed Barret is not involved. It's a family of 4 with C/T as it's heads.
And C/T are raising these children together BECAUSE they are lovers. They are not lovers because they raise children.

But sadly though Hironobu Sakaguchi confirms that at the end of the story Cloud remain single and he couldn't chooses both of the girls so that lovers of Tifa and Aerith will be united...
That's why at the second end of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, where there are credits, Cloud was riding his motor alone at the field...

@aeris14 Sakaguchi had absolutely nothing to do with the final product of FFVII. His most significant contribution is the concept of the lifestream.
Why are you making this crap up? And by naming the guy least involved in the project? Funny how Nojima (you know the head writer for the entire compilation) has no problem talking about C/T being together.
And they have no problem putting that info in their ultimania.

I think you missed the point. C/T do love each other romantically. If YOU didn't see it then you just misinterpreted the game and other materials.

@aeris14 First off opinion is opinion. it can either be based on something or nothing. If you think Cloud loves Aerith instead of Tifa then you are basing it off nothing. I don't respect wrong opinions.
Secondly Sakaguchi has never been on the record talking about who Cloud loves. And even if he was, his opinion doesn't mean anything. And Nomura while less forthcoming than Nojima has never said Cloud loves Aerith. Or that it's up to the player.

yeah you're right it's up to the player but at the start of the movie of Advent Children. Cloud's thoughts were narrated by a girl.. According to the narration "... Even the woman I love is now on the lifestream." Some english translations said ".. Even the woman I liked.."
Well I guess he has a secret feelings for Aerith...

@aeris14 I can be sure because of A. Common sense. and B. The creators flat out telling us they are together on multiple occasions.
And Tifa was not asking Cloud to choose between her or Aerith. That doesn't even make sense in the context of the scene. "The children are missing. Choose between me and Aerith". Nope sorry.
She is asking Cloud if he is going to wallow in his misery (IE painful memories) or go save his family.
Tifa kicking him in the ass is what he needed.
