In the video disrespectful gestures towards a dancer, who happens to be a Hindu queen in this movie, could have been avoided. Since it is a movie of big historical importance, these finer details should have been carefully worked on. The songs sound so nice! Nice compositions.

However as far as this movie's story is concerned, I don' t know how they managed to find a script that forces a queen into the role of a gypsy and then she is contrasted as a rival with a buddhist queen. That typical male-biased split-up-women tecnique of some men! Even more than 2 thousand years ago the same gender descrimination was there. That's what younger generations will learn from movies like these. Can we not expect better, more loving movies than these?

Wikipedia has a site on this movie. According to their summary of the movie, Asoka was renamed "Chanda Asoka". Misleading people they have translated the word "Chanda" as evil when many of us know that Chanda means the moon. Wikipedia really needs to get their information right. They must resist wicked temptations to distort truths. Love.

@ritubahar I'm a buddhist, and what I know is 'Chanda' is Violent/fierce in Pali & Sanskrit & Sinhala languages. May b u r talking about the hindi meaning. & What I know is he converted to buddhism not bcoz of the queen but bcoz of a younger monk.

@ritubahar in Sinhala and in Pali "Chanda" refers to the meaning of evil or in modern language we can say a gangster or very cruel type person or maybe a certain way a person acts. It's only said in certain languages and in Hindi it refers to "Moon". Wikipedia is not wrong, just that same words are there in Sinhala and Hindi languages and sometimes they have 2 different meaning even the words and are same, but they are pronounced differently in the both languages.

In fact, much of Northeast of India is Mongoloid or Mongoloid admixtured as well as some in Eastern parts and lower Himalayan regions of the extreme North.
