  • could you tell me what amp and cab are you using in the axe fx?

  • @awoen I used the Bogner Clean preset.

  • Nice setting on the Axe. Your own or preset? Just curious on the delay. 300Ms?

  • @Taylort3b Thanks! I only changed the delay to a longer one. I tapped it, probably around 300ms.. I think it was based on the XTC clean model...

  • Are you happy with the Sheraton? The quality of some of the lower priced guitars is getting exceptional. Dropping $2500.00 on an instrument isn't a guarantee these days that you'll love it. My T3-B stays nice and warm in it's case most of the time while my others get regular attention.

    Love your playing style.

  • @Taylort3b Thanks a lot for the nice comments. I like the Sheratton but am not used to hollow and semi hollow bodies. I won that guitar so can't complain!

  • Hi David. Is that a stock Sheraton or is the FX 11 making it shine like a pricier 335? It's making me wonder why I bought the Taylor T3 rather than sell my amps, buy a cheaper semi-hollow and run it through a Line 6 HD 500 or an Eleven Rack straight into my mac. Don't know if you have played a Hagstrom Viking Delux but a brilliant guitar for $650.00. Alas, isn't hindsight wonderful?

    Keep up the good work.

  • @Taylort3b Thanks so much! It's just stock pickups.

  • reminded me of eric johnsons tone

  • hello sir what scales did you use in that solo??

  • @PhilippineCreation Thanks! I used mostly Dorian...

  • @Wallimann if i have a A major chord progression can I use Dorian?

  • @PhilippineCreation No, you would need a progression written in Dorian for that. :-)

  • @PhilippineCreation Check my "Applied Theory for Guitar Players" on guitarplayback(dot)com

It helped hundreds of players already and I think you will find it beneficial.

  • Hey David, nice playing! you're sounding alot better these days (not that you didnt before...) I was also wondering if you have any new lessons coming up on JP? i've gone through all of them quite a few times now and im hungry for more. I've tried to purchase lessons on guitarplayback but paypay wont let me use the only credit card i have.

  • Sounds great. Which delay were you using, and would you mind doing a short video just like this one of the Axe II's tape and analog delays?

  • @jcshirke Thanks! Not sure which delay I was using there... But I'll try to come up with a video demonstrating the different delays available. :-)

  • Merci beaucoup. Ces vidéos sont très instructifs.

  • @WesleyDeurenEstes Merci à toi!

  • Sweet! Strange as it is most demo's of this device are with tons of distortion. To me even the cheaper amp modelers are quite capable of producing decent distortion, what impresses me is that this box gives a warm sweet clean tone

  • @DG320 Very true! Thanks for watching. :-)

  • what preset is that would love to try it out on my axe II

  • @captaaron1 Hmmm.. Can't remember. It's in the first 30 I think..

  • @Wallimann Give 318 ( shiva on the rocks ) a try its got a real feel to it. Its one i really like to play!

  • @captaaron1 Cool! Thanks man, I'll play with it tomorrow! :-)

  • hey mr. wallimann i love your videos! i have a question. do you read music? and if so do you find it helpful in playing guitar?

  • @yeahhhitsmikee Thanks so much for the nice comment and for watching me on Youtube!

I used to read music fairly well about 15 years ago but never had to use it in my job and kind of forgot...

    I do read charts though..

  • This tone sounds great for post rockish stuff :o

  • I made a sex wee!

  • Beautiful tones David and great playing, still got a long wait for my Axe II :-(

  • @bigleemac Thanks a lot! The wait is worth it man.

  • Tasty Jam :)

  • @ilikeshred Thanks!

  • too much delay....

  • @GtrDudeL Hehe! I admit I have a delay addiction...

  • Great job. Nice playing. Love the tones you're getting. I'd love to see you demo the Axe II's Tweed Deluxe, Tweed Bassman, and other medium gain amps sometime. It seems like most of the demos for the Axe II are high gain. This video was a pleasant change of pace.

  • @jcshirke Thanks!

  • awesome playing & tone sounds rad! do you ever experience any noise issues having teh axe soo close to your computer?

  • @sincebymat Thank you. I haven't noticed any noise issues yet...

  • nice guitar David. I always wanted one of those sheratons. It sounds great through the axe II

  • @skleung Thank you Sam. The Sheraton is super comfortable to play too.

  • Short and sweet.

  • @JazzRockBluesFunk Thanks!

  • is this playing just random chords and short ideas? like not worrying about a key or anything?

  • @roccckkerrr Yeah, pretty much...

Not really random though, I hear it before playing it..

  • WOW! An Epiphone that sounds good. ;-) How does it play?

    Great playing BTW.

  • @hawg427 Thanks! It's pretty comfortable.. :-)

  • Amazing

  • The delay adds an interesting spice to the jazz tone

  • sounds good lad! as always!

  • @flamen89 Thanks so much!

  • Lovely! Wish I could afford an Axe FX... as do most of us.

  • besides the fact that it sounds excellent, what you were playing was absolutely beautiful :)

  • @Tallguyalec Thank you so much!

  • excellent sound! I like!

  • @Fabiano9798 Thanks!

  • Absolutely gorgeous tone, I'm blown away!!!!!

  • @sireeatalot Thanks!

  • Where's the backing track at?

  • @bobdoles123 Which one? :-p

  • Sounds beautiful my friend! Great video!

  • @MyxHarnett Thanks a lot!

  • I need an rack affects :)

  • Nice sound and playing man. Could be a little darker for a more 'classic' jazz sound, but I quite like some of the sparklyness.

  • @Adji87 I just realized that I labeled this video Jazz tone. I was wondering why I got all these comments on jazz tone! :-p Thanks Adam!

  • love your chords man

  • @S4dist1cK Thanks!

  • I think it could've used a high leg kick, a spin, and a Lionel Richie style point leading into an awkward dance of seduction where you make your pecs dance like the wrestlers do. You know the one?

  • @itowedin Hahaha!

  • That combination sure does make a very pretty noise David, beautiful tone and playing.

  • @dingle1 Thanks Dave!

  • really nicee i gotta transcribe this one :P those chords you play would be kinda difficult to transcribe though

  • @levitheguitarplayer Thank you. The main progression is Dm7, A7#9 and Gm7

  • @Wallimann

Cool thanks dave that saved me some time :D

  • ya nravitsya!

  • Ah ! Makes me want a hollow body even more ! Great tone ! As someone said before little tone roll off would make it even better :)

  • @RightBrainsMusic Thanks!

  • nice man

  • @thruthewall Thank you very much for watching.

  • Smoooooth

  • @TenhoMeideia Thanks!

  • Wow!! This is just great!! :)

  • @nazari Thank you very much.

  • while this is not the "traditional" jazz tone i have to say i LOVE IT

    real nice

  • @arcainjust Thanks!

  • holy shit that was nice!

  • @richvaca Thank you

  • I'd suggest a lot less of delay/reverb. At least that's what I'm used to when hearing jazz guitar players, just a little reverb and sometimes a bit of chorus. Also the style of picking you did doesn't give that full sound of jazz guitar. It's still a great tone, and it can be good for jazz but something more modern maybe.

  • @gandaragarcia Thanks for the suggestions! :-)

  • Axe 2 Demo with Atomic Speakers please!!

    Nice playing dude

  • @rastadarrin I'll do that! Still waiting for them to get here though. Can't wait!

  • Hey give us a demo of you playing the Axe 2 with the Atomic speakers

  • Thanks for giving a demo of a clean sound that this processor is capable of. It seems that everyone is only interested in the rock tones this thing can do.

  • @jali1991 Thanks a lot for watching this!

  • so nice jazz tone, great gear but really expensive

  • @oswa0714006 Thanks!

  • i like it but roll off the tone knob so u can get that classic jazz tone with the less attack

  • @towardstheshadows Good suggestion!

  • @Wallimann i hapened too like that attack the tone sounds beautiful

  • This video is for all the people who says that epiphone makes crap guitars !

  • The only thing i don't like about your videos is the outro song... should be more catchy so people stay and pick one of the options.. is just my opinion

  • @diazluisdiaz Ah yeah, I agree on that!

  • man ever since you have started using that epiphone your playing has become different and extremely awsome great video and awsome tone and playing

  • @jwe986 Thanks!

  • SWEET DAVE!!!!

  • @iwarbride Thank you!

  • That...was beautiful... :')

  • @iTzMattz Thanks! :-)
