I have an iPhone 3G and so far I'm not very impressed. It needs iTunes and internet to be fully functional. Can't be restored without internet even when you have the firmware file on your PC. It still needs to access the net after the old shift+restore. Considering "jailbreaking" it. Apple makes their devices too reliant of "their" software.

When I first saw the phone, I honestly thought it was a crazy idea. 600 dollars for a phone? Then I began to see more and more of it. It started to look better than I thought. I was still on the edge, but then i got to hold one and play with one. My sister's friend came over and he let me see his iPhone, and I couldn't believe how great it truly was.

There's a reason Verizon didn't take hte iPhone - the reason is that verizon wanted to control every single aspect of the phone, and not have Apple do it. At first I was against it, cuz i didn't know exactly what the details were, but now i'm quite happy Apple is in control instead of the carrier AT&T (except for plan rates obviously). However, Verizon's rep of crippling phones, if it came to the iPhone, would completely destroy it.

When I used my Blackjack phone it seems like for the most part I was unable to make any phone calls due to the lack of signal from the phone. Ever since I bought my iphone I was able to make calls everywhere I love it.
