I like your style of battle, and dealing with fina's imposter was the correct way to go. There are other ways to utilize the characters abilities to cause considerable damage without relying on vyse's strength.

yeah, the game's S-moves really make it too easy towards the end, especially if you've been completing all the sidequests, but I still love this game, though, even though the music on the Gamecube version sounds muddy and distorted compared to the Dreamcast version.

they are nothing but but a pain in the rear end if you take them on b4 you get the Delphinus, but with Prince Enrique really helps you to prevail, it's crazy but Justice Shield is the best move you can use against them

Wow, you needed to use that Aura of Valor on these guys? I could see if it was Lapan or the Ixa ness demons but these guys were not all that hard compared to those two bounties.

Actually I have a plan for this. What I intend on doing is getting double the amount of battles. So, 340 times 2 = 680. So, if I reach 680 battles maybe that'll help my rating. Battles tend to really help your rating if you ran out of swashbuckler bonuses. I have already 550 battles so far.
That would probably be the best idea. If you don't know where Hamachou Island is, it is just above the dark rift in the upper sky. If you can't find Ryu Kan's Island. He's in middle sky south of Yafutoma past the dark rift. (It should be near the bottom right corner of the map.)
Well, actually if you think about it doubling your battles means that it makes it equal. You run away from certain amount but once you reach the double amount it'll be like you never entered a single battle. (Think of run aways as negatives and fights as positive.) You had a score of -214 you would have to add another 214 battles to that to make it equal. If you have all the swashbuckler boosts, than you should be at Vyse the daring just from that. Good luck!!!
Well, if your last crew member is illcyhmis, you need to know the spell riselem for him to join, and for ryu-kan, you need to have the title "Vyse the Daring" for him to appear. (If you already have him, than Vize should appear for you already.)
Actually discoveries don't affect your rating at all which is what I discovered. I have all of the discoveries, (which is what you need for fighting air pirate vigoro) so I have the bonus title as well. It is actually not higher than Vyze the Daring considering Vize still hasn't apepared for me. Mind you though, my problem was I ran away from too many battles. (Try 340 battles run from.) So unless you want the 3 secrets of the game you don't need the discoveries. Hope this helps you!
Have you completed the game yet? if you have and he still isn't there than you haven't done all the swashbuckler bonuses correctly, or if you run away from majority of your battles that could be a big problem for you. To fix this either start a new game or keep getting your battle status up. (Running away affects your title even though you can't see it go up, it will.) Hope it helps.

Oh yeah, I have a strategy guide that explained a lot to me, and after reading it if you get all of the discoveries, it is supposedly going to give you a rather high title. (Although I think it is seperate from the actual rating.) Still though, I should thank you for everything, but I won't start a new game seeing as I think that would take me longer. (Considering I die a lot lol). Thank you again! :)
Well, my ran away battle total is 338 considering it was taking to long to get to a goal in some areas. So, maybe if I did double the amount of battles (so far 387) he would appear? 338 x 2= 676. Maybe if I got my battle total to 676 he would appear? I don't know, I'll try that instead. (This could take months. :( At least it'll be worth it...I think) Thanks for your help anyway.
For all I know it could be thousands of battles. Here is a good webpage where you can ask and you should get good answers:
Check there to find which would be quicker (to start again or do it from here). There ar other ways to make battles not too long, such as Aikas lambda burst.. (and you get more moves as you progress)
Yah so I would check there you should get a good answer.. just beware of trying to do it frmour present file, then you might give up if it is taking too long..
Especially since I can't use the quote thing in cutscenes anymore seeing as the game is completed. I have exactly 64 discoveries, but is there any other way to increase the rating if I don't run from anymore battles?
From what I have heard swashbuckler rating increases VERY SLOWLY when you fight normal battles (and win). but it is REALLY slow. So much so that it might be quicker just to start a new game. This is not my personal experience but what I have heard from reading about the game.. So yah that could be your problem there, ran from too many battles. I suggest just starting again. its fun anyway!

Anyway, have you run away from battles? That could be the problem.. (that lowers your swashbuckler rating) Make sure you have gone into sailors guild and looked at the wanted list for the imposters as well.

Ahh you did it the easy way! (using Aura of valor). How come sometimes the computer did not attack? (e.g. 4:07)
Finally, I am pretty sure guarding does nothing if you are using Enriques justice shield. That move already makes the whole party block (effectively). So using that move and guarding with other characters is pointless. Just use the justice shield, and then no need to block with anyone else. At least I think that is correct.
One last thing where do I get bonus "Aura of Valor" items? I already used the 3 found in the game. Please help! (Although I think I'll be fine fighting them without it.) As for discoveries, I have 44 right now. (This is a continuation from my other comment posted below)

boost and you must get this by winning a lot of random encounters, which boosts your swashbuckler pretty damn low. vize is close to the ladder of royal palace, and sometimes even if you are vyse the daring he won't appear, this is a bug fixed by exiting and re-entering narsad. hope it helps xD!
To get vize your swashbuclker must be vyse the daring or higher, you can only manage this by taking more than 95% of decisions correctly and i never retreat in battle. thought after you get the rank vyse the fallen pirate (after going out from yafutoma) your swashbuckler will still level up just that behind that fake swashbuckler, and you won't see it, but if your rank isn't high enough for when you exit yafutoma, then it's possible to manage it, but it's pretty difficult as there are not much
OMG! How did you get him to appear? I'm level 45 with everyone, completed the game, killed every other "wanted list" boss, killed Piastol 4 times and he still won't appear! What do I have to do exactly? And one more thing, where do you get extra "Aura of Valor" items? (I ran out on Daikokuya.)

um yea i have like almost half of the discovires and i am in this order vize to gilder 49,45,46,52 and the idoit still didn't show up

Have you completed the game yet? if you have and he still isn't there than you haven't done all the swashbuckler bonuses correctly, or if you run away from majority of your battles that could be a big problem for you. To fix this either start a new game or keep getting your battle status up. (Running away affects your title even though you can't see it go up, it will.) Hope it helps.

Well, thank you very much for your time Simon0 and I will definitely take your advice. Oh yeah, I have a strategy guide that explained a lot to me, and after reading it if you get all of the discoveries, it is supposedly going to give you a rather high title. (Although I think it is seperate from the actual rating.) Still though, I should thank you for everything, but I won't start a new game seeing as I think that would take me longer. (Considering I die a lot lol). Thank you again! :)

Well, my ran away battle total is 338 considering it was taking to long to get to a goal in some areas. So, maybe if I did double the amount of battles (so far 387) he would appear? 338 x 2= 676. Maybe if I got my battle total to 676 he would appear? I don't know, I'll try that instead. (This could take months. :( At least it'll be worth it...I think) Thanks for your help anyway.

For all I know it could be thousands of battles. Here is a good webpage where you can ask and you should get good answers:
Check there to find which would be quicker (to start again or do it from here). There ar other ways to make battles not too long, such as Aikas lambda burst.. (and you get more moves as you progress)
Yah so I would check there you should get a good answer.. just beware of trying to do it frmour present file, then you might give up if it is taking too long..

Especially since I can't use the quote thing in cutscenes anymore seeing as the game is completed. I have exactly 64 discoveries, but is there any other way to increase the rating if I don't run from anymore battles?

From what I have heard swashbuckler rating increases VERY SLOWLY when you fight normal battles (and win). but it is REALLY slow. So much so that it might be quicker just to start a new game. This is not my personal experience but what I have heard from reading about the game.. So yah that could be your problem there, ran from too many battles. I suggest just starting again. its fun anyway!

oh yeah one more thing, I dont know if/how discoveries affect the swashbuckler rating so cant help you in that area..

ahem...i am nmot like most people begging on how to make him appear, i simply cannot beat him, and i have no aura of valor(think i used em' all)around you're level, and that god forsaken anita burst takes most my chars. out or weakens them greatly, incremmed or not.This keeps me from using prophecy. Help?

Um...No, I didn't get an e-mail. Although, I kind of need your advice for locating this guy. I mean, I've already completed the entire game with getting all swashbuckler bonus's correct (I used a strategy guide) and he still won't appear. I've been "Vyse the fallen Pirate" since the end of Yafutoma. I've done that enter and re-enter thing and still nothing, what am I missing?

No I was responding to backwardskey when I wrote about the email. I did reply to you as well but youtube doesnt seem to be showin response, not sure why.
Anyway, have you run away from battles? That could be the problem.. (that lowers your swashbuckler rating) Make sure you have gone into sailors guild and looked at the wanted list for the imposters as well.

Ok, honestly I played this thing again and tried over and over to make him appear. I even looked for more discoveries if that would help, but he still isn't in the area that it shows here. I am getting really mad right now because no matter what I do, he never appears. What the heck do I have to do? PLEASE HELP!!!! I BEG OF YOU PEOPLE!!!!! I CAN DEAL WITH THE FIGHT, I JUST NEED TO KNOW HOW TO GET HIM TO APPEAR!!!!! (By the way I followed your advice already mariconaxd12; it didn't work.) HELP!!!

Ahh you did it the easy way! (using Aura of valor). How come sometimes the computer did not attack? (e.g. 4:07)
Finally, I am pretty sure guarding does nothing if you are using Enriques justice shield. That move already makes the whole party block (effectively). So using that move and guarding with other characters is pointless. Just use the justice shield, and then no need to block with anyone else. At least I think that is correct.

One last thing where do I get bonus "Aura of Valor" items? I already used the 3 found in the game. Please help! (Although I think I'll be fine fighting them without it.) As for discoveries, I have 44 right now. (This is a continuation from my other comment posted below)

I made sure I had all of the swashbuckler bonus's correct considering I had the guide with me when playing this. I have been "Vyse the Fallen Pirate" since I left Yafutoma, and I still can't find him! How many discoveries are you supposed to have?

boost and you must get this by winning a lot of random encounters, which boosts your swashbuckler pretty damn low. vize is close to the ladder of royal palace, and sometimes even if you are vyse the daring he won't appear, this is a bug fixed by exiting and re-entering narsad. hope it helps xD!

To get vize your swashbuclker must be vyse the daring or higher, you can only manage this by taking more than 95% of decisions correctly and i never retreat in battle. thought after you get the rank vyse the fallen pirate (after going out from yafutoma) your swashbuckler will still level up just that behind that fake swashbuckler, and you won't see it, but if your rank isn't high enough for when you exit yafutoma, then it's possible to manage it, but it's pretty difficult as there are not much

OMG! How did you get him to appear? I'm level 45 with everyone, completed the game, killed every other "wanted list" boss, killed Piastol 4 times and he still won't appear! What do I have to do exactly? And one more thing, where do you get extra "Aura of Valor" items? (I ran out on Daikokuya.)
