Air is distributed to the head of each cylinder through channels drilled throught the head plate to the shaft bore with the shaft acting as the valve. The same channels provide exhaust ports when 180 deg from intake

Super compact 4-cylinder engine. I can see how the crank (wobble plate) works, but how does the valving mechanism work?
