It should also be said that the current owner, Connie Ramage has been working at the restaurant for longer than any of the owners ever owned it, 14 years to be precise. The Dinner Tree is a unique restaurant and is something every family who has had a part of should be proud, not resentful about. Connie welcomes all of the previous owners into the restaurant and feels a connection with them all as she loves the restaurant and the history behind it.
I would like to point out the fact that the Cowboy Dinner Tree has changed ownership 4 times, and It's notoriety has grown bigger every year. It is a fact that Liz and Kent Ewell did start the restaurant, Al and Marcie Prom did further developing the restaurant and deserve some credit.
and how dare any1 take credit for something they had nothing to do with, including the newest owners who should know the true history of their own restaurant
what a joke... this restaurant was NOT started by Al & Marcie Prom they just bought it from the TRUE founders, Liz & Kent Ewell. tbey built it from a rickety run down shack behind their home and gave it the reputation it still has today even tho they now serve sub standatd food that is nowhere close to as good as it was in the beginning.
This place is amazing! If you've never been there don't knock it. As for portion size, most people cannot eat the whole chicken or the steak, especially after everything else you get. Ever heard of leftovers and they provide bags. One thing unless it has changed since the last time I was there, don't ask for steak sauce, you don't need it and they don't provide it. This is not just dinner, this is a destination and an experience in dining.

What's with the over sized portions of greed - not only is eating an entire roast or whole chicken extremely unhealthy, it's also the ultimate in gluttony. What a waste of money, most humans shouldn't or couldn't possibly eat half of one of these dinners. If ya can, then ya must be American!
@Picardy WOW!!! You don't get out much. But honestly, I cannot recall hearing about anything to do in Canada. You're Canadian, right? How does that saying go? Don't knock it until you try it? Please keep your insight to yourself. Canada, joke.
@Picardy Well there party pooper. It's not about the meal size, it's about the adventure. Do the math on the amount of food you get for the money and you quickly realize this place is designed to give you more left-overs than you eat on-site. The quality of the food and number of meals one can get out of one dinner visit and left overs is awesome. Not everyone wants a tiny artsy stack of expensive food for every meal, and some of us have families to feed. Go home to the UK.
@Picardy What an arrogant jerk you are! Is it possible people don't eat the whole thing there. My family and friends that go there always bring back half, at least and enjoy another meal or two out of it.
I'm so sick of you elitist trolls who stick your ugly noses high in the air and put down an entire population by spinning the truth or outright lying.
I have been here, and this place is an absolute treat! We travel three hours to get here and stay in one of their equally fun and rustic cabins. The food is the BEST you'll ever get...bring a cooler to take your left-over steak (or chicken) home in, cuz there's no way you can eat it all!
I can still smell the dinner rolls! This place is awesome. From the old western setting to the food can't be described here. Connie is a great gal. I would highly recommend it to anyone willing to go for a drive.

I would be plugged for at least two weeks if I ate one of those steaks. Eat here and go straight to the hospital for a bypass operation.

We ate there last week end and loved every bit of it. I would encourge anyone to give it a try, even if you need to drive a while. It's worth it.
