While it does not show up right now, this leaves the option for a 3rd party to make an app that creates birthday on your calendar and set a notification. Palm has said they encourage apps integrating with other apps since they have true multitasking.

Umm no voice and data at the same time? So if I'm expecting an important call, or business call, I better not be using any data services? Like Google, Web, eMail... thats weak.

Not quite. Sprint's network does not allow simultaneous voice and data. But if you are browsing the internet or something of the sort the call will still come through it will just stop data and allow the call to come through.

Okay thats good. So if I'm on the phone with a colleague and need to send them a location via google map or a vcard/document, will that be possible while on the phone?

Text messaging will be allowed data will not (data = e-mail, web browsing, loading anything new on Google Maps etc...) Again remember this is a limitation of Sprint's network not the Palm Pre itself. So if Sprint decides to change this is may very well be possible but I doubt they will change it until they fully launch their 4G network.

You know what that could potentially work. But to be honest I don't really know. WiFi is not supported by the emulator so I can't check. I hope you can!

can synergy go as far as taking the profile picture from a person's facebook and assigning it to their contact info?....even though i could easily use an old picture and assign it...or take a new picture WITH the phone.....i'm only wondering. THANKS!

Yes Synergy will assign a contact photo from Facebook.

I know that, on my ipod touch, google maps preloads all the data necessary for directions beforehand, so if you get directions from x to y, you should still be able to see the map near he places you need to turn. If this is also true on the pre, you should be able to dictate a route over the phone if you enter the directions beforehand and let it load.

Yes this is correct anything that is preloaded is usable you just can't load new stuff while on a voice call.

you lucky bastard i want to get one so bad but i have to wait until my b day in august then im eligible to buy it for 199 at bestbuy and add one year to my contract

if you wait until year of your two year contract and buy it at BESTBUY then it will cost 199 and they add one year to your contract so its a pretty good deal

if you get a new phone number...you can get out of paying for breaking a contract. i called and they told me to just say "i want a transfer of liability". i'll be forced to get a new number but save $200

why is there a voicemail key on the dailing pad if there is not visual voicemail yet

Yea... I have never used visual voicemail personally but I have seen it and looks pretty cool. I'm sure we will see it eventually.
