  • WELCOME TO OBAMACARE!!!!!

  • This is very scary! NOT that a trans-person was helped but that a person so sick they had to have their bladder removed, that is unnacceptable and unbelievable. How sad. Im not sure that was even a good example, losing your bladder alone was the whole story in a nut shell. Who makes these decisions and can sleep at night thinking its ok? A stimulator is so much more LESS expensive than the surgery she had was and the new cost of up-keep and supplies now needed for her to exist.

  • An expense that will cost now for her lifetime and the stimulator would have been in and done with. I need a gastric stimulator and I DO have insurance, but they say Im not sick enough to qualify for it LOL Again, I find it amazing.

  • We live longer than an other country with cancer and that includes the uninsured. It is illegal to pay for your care in Canada. Obamatrons think that is "fair". They want it "fair" and have more people die.

  • a1d4a1m5.... You couldn't be more wrong...

  • Health insurance companies are ALWAYS better than government insurance. ALWAYS.

Nations that have become ENSLAVED to single-payer TYRANNY are TRAPPED because they have an army of bureaucrats and administrators that continue to vote for living PARASITICALLY at the expense of the taxpayers.

    Single-payer is TYRANNY.

    Single-payer is SLAVERY.

    Single-payer is EVIL.

  • Canada's government-controlled rationing is infinitely worse than not being able to afford something because you are poor. There is no comparison. Private healthcare is ALWAYS better than being at the mercy of the government.

  • It isn't the shortage of kidneys - a family member or friend can donate a kidney; and these people offered to pay for the NEUROSTIMULATOR - not another kidney, so what you're saying does not apply about kidney shortage.

    So.....explain this....

  • Waiting for kidney transplants is because there is a limited supply of kidneys not because of people getting elective surgery. Organs don't grow on trees. You are going to have to wait for a surgery like that no matter what country you live in.

  • The US govt pays for the healthcare of 83 mil Americans & also 14 mil of the 46 mil uninsured qualify for govt programs but just arent enrolled. If you examine the uninsured some more you will find some surprising statistics like 38% make over $50,000 a year, 20% are immigrants (mostly illegal) and 40% are young people who dont prioritize health insurance. The number of Americans that cant afford or dont qualify for insurance is actually MUCH lower than the highly inflated 46 mil often quoted

  • If you could provide a link(s) for your statistics it would be most helpful. Thankyou

  • Not only is this a good example of the problems with nationalized medicine.

It shows why the sodomites should never be allowed near the levers of power. These people are sick. That poor old woman, yet lets all celebrate the queer didn't have to wait for his new vagina!

  • Thanks for sharing this. America needs to wake up! Is it worth suffering for years to save a $1000? No way! Our bodies are our most important asset, and some people want the gov't to make health decisions for our bodies? Craziness!

  • What in Hell we are thinking about in America. Helth care is bad but this is a jump out of the pan into the fire.

  • Great video. Socialized medicine sucks.

  • Now, I was lead to believe that socialized medicine was a good thing? Looks like it sucks for everyone who isn't getting sex-changes, which is a LOT of FUCKEN PEOPLE!!!

  • A health care system that predilects a sex change operation over that of the bladder of the other woman is not just wrong.

It's evil, and must be fought.

  • There are several issues with premiums and our insurance problems, but most of that cost stems from the 40 million illegals, welfare , and those who choose not to pay for insurance getting totally free healthcare, but the what Obama wants to create is way off base, and will get rid of what is good about most but not all of hmo's and others. Obama will take away your freedom of choice, although it will not affect him or any other elected official because they are special.

  • You can blame the wait-times and lousy care in Canada due to the conservatives in power gutting their healthcare system.

If they would properly fund the Canadian healthcare system they could treat everyone.

  • This could happen in America!! Fight Socialized health care!!

He should have stayed a man....he makes one ugly woman!

  • That poor woman could you imagine having to carry your urine outside your body. My mother in law is a nurse and says that you can smell it. It is so sad. Wouldn't this be considered a priority type sergery.

  • Wow I didn't realise there was NO private health care in Canada. Enlightening. I quite like Australia's system, though it's not perfect.

  • The NHS isn't a panacea either, as Moore would have you believe. I was shocked a few years ago when I saw a "thing" that had a sex change paid for by the NHS, yet you can have cancer and be left to die because drugs that are approved in one health authority aren't prescribable in yours. Postcode lottery. Socialised medicine is totally absolutely wrong. The people that pay for it mostly don't see any benefits and often have to take out private medical insurance.

  • madmax: Everything's a trade-off. Universal Health Care would provide something for everybody, but I'm convinced quality would drop and costs would go way up.

One problem we have in the US with every govt program is deciding where to draw the line. Seems like every time we have a program, people demand more and more and costs spiral out of control.

I'm terrified what a UHC program would look like. We would wind up paying for every bizarre procedure you could think of.

  • Too bad Stuart Browning isn't as popular as that fat-ass, Moore.

  • Thats fine if you want to improve your system. Dont fall in the Canadian trap, thats for your own good. I'm not saying your system doesnt need improvement, but the Canadian way is not the way to go. Instead, pass legislation to increase the transparance of health care in America. Like they did in singapore - check on it, their system is truely incredible!

  • I like the Australian system and the new Dutch system is what I think would be the most plausible here in America.

  • If I ever come across the sexually confused asshole, I'm gonna beat the shit out of him and his minister of health boyfriend. That is garbage!! Stupid liberals...

  • the sex change guy was rediculous

i red the unabomber wanted to have one

hope this guy doesn't do something similar

  • I'd like to see a vidoe about the "wonderful" swedish healthcare we hear so much about Please.

  • I never want to look at a Canadian flag ever again. And I frickin LIVE here.

  • move janice up the list so others can suffer?

it sucks but that pretty selfish

  • Wow...

In what world (filled with millions of doctors) is it not possible to get a simple operation like this done? The answer is a world where some people set down a bunch of rules one day which they then applied to millions of Canadians expecting everyone to slip into place. It turns out, though, that this version of central planning is unnecessarily ineffective, just like all the others.

I guess it would also be selfish to let the doctors run their practices how ever they want.

  • Ontario health care sucks. It's people are too ignorant, stupid and brainwashed by the government to realize what a joke it is. What kind of a democracy forbids it's citizens to have anything but government controlled health care? I left Ontario.

  • A MESSAGE FROM THE FILMMAKER: Here's my standard reply to wingnuts like "simon333" who substitute conspiracy mongering for rational discourse: THIS FILM AS WELL AS ALL OTHER FREE MARKET CURE FILMS WERE FINANCED SOLEY BY THE FILMMAKER WHO HAS NO TIES TO THE HEALTH INSURANCE OR HEALTH CARE INDUSTRY. MPI (The Moving Pictures Institute) has partially sponsored the FreeMarket Cure website where these movies appear, but has had no involvement with the films themselves.

    - Stuart Browning

  • Mr Browning, "Free market" health care is great for millionaires such as yourself as it increases revenue for pharmaceutical R&D labs. More "symptom treatment" medicine is the result ...think of all the boner, weight-loss, anti-axiety and sleep pills that have flooded the market in recent years. You don't care because you can pay for your own standard health care. The 50 million Americans without coverage don't need designer drugs, they just need standard medical, dental and eye care.

  • simon333: THAT'S A LIE! You and your lib commies in high office don't give a shit about real Americans/Canadians. You make up these phony numbers! This woman needed that system! The commies rigged it so a gay/trans feminist could have her operation. That's cruel and unusual punishment as far as I'm concerned.

  • I live in Canada and can confirm that Stuart Browning's films are representative of the Canadian system. Unfortunately, its all too true.

  • IMundy the woman developed a life threatening bladder infection and had to lose her bladder. She could have died and you deem this not serious? How you feel if this had happened to you or your family member? Dying, she could have died with her infection. You have obviously never been sick and had to wait for care. I have despite having a serious lung condition.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry about your heart condition, but losing a bladder is a hard life (bladder bags) and to say its not serious is crazy and lacks compassion.. You wouldn't be saying living with a bladder bag if you had lost your own bladder. This poor woman developed a "life threatening" bladder infection, so her life was indeed at risk and to minimize this at all lacks regard for her life.

  • Several of my friends are nurses and one at our hospital. All too often she says that a person develops a healthcare crisis before they receive necessary care. Her own father died of cancer at age 55 (too young), because our system took too long to diagnose. I've ended up in respiratory failure and was sent to the ICU, because of the long waits, being sent home from the ER when I should have been admitted to the medical floor. No one should lose their bladder or die due to our system.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry IMundy, but our healthcare system is dysfunctional. Plenty of money goes towards the system in Canada. Clearly money is not the only solution. Doctors in NS are even speaking about privatization. This means that patients could be sent to a private clinic, but it would still be covered under the system. When a woman is waiting three years for bladder surgery, and surgeons are only allowed a set amount of OR time (and this happens), the system is not working efficiently.

  • Do you really want what we Americans have? So many of us are going broke trying to pay for our surgeries. Many of us live in fear of getting ill or injured? Do you really want that?

  • This video doesn't endorse the current US system or even mention it. It points out a particular problem that develops in a system with no price signals and a large amount of government dictation of how the industry should work.

The prices in the US can be explained, but it requires looking at lots of little steps taken over the last 100 years and it's just easier for politicians to say insurance companies are bleeding you dry. I'll send you a link to a very good article on this.

  • Crap. Name three people to whom that applys. I'm uninsured and when I need a health care availe myself on DOCS and other free market clinic that provide cheap quality service. Wal-Marts are starting to offer the sma.

  • Well let something serious happen to you that requires a specialist. Hope you're satisfied with your Wal-Mart healthcare.

  • You are getting broke, we are getting dead. Which would you choose?

  • Yes and while we are getting broke we also die because we cant afford care.

  • We die regardless of wether we can afford it or not. THAT IS THE HUMAN RIGHT VIOLATION. If I can afford it because i SAVED my money instead of buying the latest ipod, shouldn't I BE ABLE TO SPEND IT ON HEALTH CARE INSTEAD. CANADA SAYS NO. I am angered by this OBVIOUS human right violation.

  • Well I'm sorry your country doesn't allow you to buy it if you want. My country says if I CAN'T pay for it than I don't DESERVE the right to healthcare. Its nice to know I'm going to spend thousands of dollars a year for something that's not guarnateed.

  • But still, if you take out homicides and fatal car accidents, you yanks live 2 years longer than anyone else on the planet.

  • According to the WHO that's not true. Our infant mortality rate is higher than every other industrialized nation as well. Is your ideas about healthcare popular among other Canadians?

  • My ideas of healthcare are insanely popular amoung sick canadians. However, 95% of the voters are healthy and love our system.

  • I don't see why you guys cannot have private hospitals. However I highly doubt most Canadians sick or healthy would want to switch to the crap we have here.

  • I don't see why you guys cannot have private hospitals.

Because people are scared to shit about the private sector and they force everyone not to have it so they can feel save. Canada is the most socialist of all industrialized countries. Besides Canada, only north korea bans private healthcare.

  • Its the exact opposite here in the U.S. Everyone is scared of the government so they think the private sector will do everything for them. They don't realize the private sector doesn't care one whit about them and is only in it for profit.

  • The government doesnt care even less. In in Canada, they prevent doctors from doing more than 5 operations a week when they could do 20, in order to keep the cost down. Even tho there is a demand for it. I think I will go to court over this soon - I think it violates the law-. I decided this today, I WILL BRING THESE COMMIES DOWN!!! Wish me luck.

  • Good luck!

  • jeah7: Don't you realize that it's "profit" that makes everything work? You need to take some economics courses and get wise.

Look at the many many countries that tried to take "profit" out of the equation. All the communist countries and even those socialist countries that nationalized industries. Complete, catastrophic failure.

And it's not that we're "scared" of the govt in the US; it's more that we know from experience the govt screws up everything it touches.

  • Then why is our for profit system failing so miserably now? Is it because when a health insurance company cares more about profit than patient care the consumer loses out.

  • jeah7: 1/2: This current fiscal crisis was caused by the sub-prime fiasco. And the sub-prime fiasco was caused by:

-Govt meddling which pressured banks to loan money to people (primarily minorities) that were high risk and never should have had loans.

-Excessive deregulation which allowed financial institutions to develop instruments that were overly complex and lacked transparency.

-Failure of congressional watchdogs to do their job. The bastards were in bed with Fannie/Freddie, etc.

  • I thought you would be in favor for all the deregulation possible. Afterall that is capitalism and conservatism at its best. Massive deregulation of business and the private sector.

  • jeah7: Socialism is not a yes/no proposition; it's a spectrum. You can have a lot like Sweden, a middling about like Britain, or less like the US (social security, medicaid, welfare, etc.). So...there's no such thing as "pure" capitalism and if there was it would fail. Of course I agree we need some govt regulation; who would be fool enough to oppose anti-trust regulations? The key is to have just enough regulation to allow the free market to operate at max efficiency.

  • This whole free market conception is a farce. Where is the free market when you have GM asking for a 25 billion bailout while the CEO makes $16 million a year and flys on private jets? Where is the free market when I have to pay inflated costs on gas, electric, and water utilities? I hear free market all the time and I'm wondering where its at?

  • jeah7: again...nothing is life is "pure". No such thing as "pure" capitalism; the issue is not whether to have govt regulation, but how much to have and where to apply it. Your arguments are facile and tainted by emotion:

    1. Who cares how much a CEO makes as long as the people at the bottom have an adequate safety net? Where's the outrage from the Left when an athlete makes $30M/yr for bouncing a ball?

    2. You pay infalted costs on utilities? How ironic. YOu understand they're the one

  • 1)I don't see the NFL asking the government for a $25 billion bailout, do you?

    2) The reason why they are so heavily regulated is because they hold monopolies in the areas they serve. Sure there are smaller cable providers in my area but Time Warner crushes them and their service is so terrible I would be throwing money down the drain to support them.

  • jeah7: Yes, there are certain areas where monopolies are granted and it's appropriate to have more govt regulation there. My gripe is an ideological mentality that PREFERS govt control and will use "regulation" as an excuse to expand govt interference far beyond what's warranted.

I remember a case study we did in graduate school in 1981. The issue was whether to break up Bell Telephone's monopoly. We thought the idea was absurd; the phone sysem would collapse! Well...look at what happened.

  • Sometimes monopolies do get so big and so bloated that they collapse on themselves. The same thing can happen with a government and I'm afraid we're heading down that path.

  • jeah7: 2/2: aspect of our economy that's most heavily regulated by the govt? The govt sets the price and approves all decisions made by the utility. Maybe more "capitalism" and less govt would help?

    3. If you're wondering where the free market is, read some history. Read what they tried in the communist countries. Look at what happened in europe (GDP growth, unemployment, standard of living) in countries where they tried "heavy" socialism.

Plenty of real-world examples to look at.

  • jeah7: 2/2: Capitalism works great. The experience of Western Europe/US and more recently China/Japan/India, etc. proves the fact.

People who buy into the Left's fear-mongering amaze me. We have one serious crisis (caused primarily by bad government) and you're ready to claim complete failure and a switch to systems (marxism/socialism) which have been totally, utterly discredited.

It's like saying that since my car has a flat tire I must get rid of the car and switch to roller skates.

  • The Left's fear-mongering? You must be joking! Our health care system is fundamentally broken because it concentrates on treating sickness instead of focusing on prevention. When you have a for profit system trying to treat disease is much more profitable than trying to prevent it. Western Europe is more of a mix of socialism and capitalism and go figure they outrank us in health, life expectancy, education, and infant mortality.

  • jeah7: Yes, the Left fearmongers:

    -Global warming.

    -The health care "crisis".

    -The "greedy" rich.

    -The heterosexual AIDS scare.

    -The homeless "crisis".

The list is endless. They do it to get people to vote for them and to donate money (and...I admit the Right does it too).

Re health care, the US' lag in various statistical categories cannot be laid solely at the door of health care (e.g.our lower life expectancy # is complex...and is lower only by months).

  • As opposed to the right fearmongers

    -terrorism

    -socialism

    -big government

    -illegal aliens

And yes the health care situation is a crisis. Just because you might have adequate healthcare does not mean everyone does and that our system is not broken. We need a system that focuses on giving the best healthcare to the majority of citizens. Not just ones that can afford to pay for the inflated costs.

  • jeah7: Yes, I admitted in my post that the Right engages in fear-mongering too. Primarily on terrorism, and a bit on illegal aliens (like O'Reilly who constantly highlights the tiny % of aliens that commit violent crimes). But...I don't think the Right's position on socialism/big govt falls into the fear-mongering category.

Re health care, it's a crisis for you if you don't have it. IMO the only real problem is the underclass which doesn't get preventive care. About 5% of the population.

  • "I don't think the right's position on socialism/big govt falls into the fear-mongering category"

You're joking right? The right wing acts like anytime the government does something its the end of the world, govt is going to come into your home and take over! Listen to Limbaugh and Savage.

  • jeah7: no, I'm not kidding. I admit there's some ranting on the Right about "big govt", but most of the discussion is legit analysis.

And re the govt coming into our homes...you must be joking. The Left doesn't want the govt in our bedrooms (abortion, gay rights), but...they want govt in every other room of the house. There's literally no end to the Nanny-Staters who want legislation to control everything from smoking, to diet, to TV, to guns. A govt "solution" for every "problem".

  • As far as nanny state I see problems on both the left and right. I see the left wanting cradle to grave welfare and the right dictating to people what their personal life should look like. I don't like either so therefore I hate both parties. But the last 8 years has all my anger channeled toward the right at this moment.

  • Government fouled up Social Security, Fannie and Freddie Mac, Medicair, and immigration just to name a few, what makes you think they will get this right?

  • there's not guarantee that nationalized health care will be perfect. Nothing is perfect but we can't stay with this system we have now. Unless you plan on being happy paying $300 for a flu shot.

  • We will be paying out our rear ends to pay for this, the money does not come out of thin air, you will be taxed on income, your vehicle, sales tax, your house, or even the air you breathe if the government keeps going at the rate they are going, that is why the founding fathers created the bill of rights, and the constitution, the government does not create anything, it only takes from its citizens, our government was built on individual freedom, not government control, including your health.

  • So you do want to pay $300 for a flu shot. Is there any other way? Are the only two options completely private or completely socialized? I wonder why people in Australia, NZ, and other industrialized countries don't want the system we have.

  • Again, where does this money come from, They already take 20-30 percent of your pay for other government programs that does not work. If the government gets a hold of it, you will be told when to go to the doctor, what drug you can take, what surgery is recommended, and whether or not you are even worth saving, IE age discrimination, Do you really want to give up your freedom of choice, to be on inferior government program. Why do Candians and English citizens travel here, because theirs suck.

  • Have any polls been done in Canada and England to say nationally would they prefer their system or ours? Once again I am not for a complete government take over but I believe our current system is a joke and needs to be reformed.

  • ITs not a poll, its a fact, do your research, the average wait for a Canadian citizen is 17 weeks, wait till the government gets a hold of it. We have 299 million people living here let alone the illegals.

  • So you're fine with keeping health care at the standard it is now? Realizing that premiums are only going up while services go down. Market forces are not the cure for every ailment and to completely rely on them for something as important as health care is shortsighted.

  • Who the fuck do you know that paid $300.00 for flu shot? Yours is the classic little leftist response, we have to do something and after you create a huge cluster fuck the response is always the same, well somebody had to do something, after all it seemed like a good idea at the time. We dont need a system that tells a 52 year old man that he cant have a hip replacement because he is too old, when in fact he is at the ideal age for the procedure. Wise up!!

  • The WHO ranking is fake. The US starts counting infant mortality at 28 weeks compared to 33 for any other country.

  • Are there rankings about life expectancy fake as well?

  • If you take out all non medical related causes of death; mainly homicides and fatal car accidents, americans live 2 years longer than anyone else on the planet. Drive safely and don't shoot your neighboor.

  • So wait, you're saying that in Canada's socialised health care system there aren;t enough doctors or nurses? Funny, there are massive waiting lists to get into medical and nursing school here in the US... funny how free entrprise works.

  • I did a google search on this woman and can not find any reference to her. Why do they not say what province she is in. Shirley is from BC and the Linsay is from Richmond Hill Ontario. I think this person does not exist but she is actress playing a part plus OHIP has not paid for sex changes for about 10 years .

  • Ok thay say Ontario but what city.

  • I have proof that the Shirley Healty case is a lies by Stuart Browning. There is a vancouver sun article and it states the 2 canceled opearation were because of emergenies involving 2 people who could have died if her surgery was not canceled

  • If those guys stop wanting the goverment to pay for having there penis cut off.. maybe the free health care service would have time to do the real urgent surgeries. If you want a sex change just pay for it and send the bill to god.

  • should had taken a taxi to the USA or protested the government by handcuffing herself to the lobby door of the hospital... or she should have gotten arrested, they

would take care of her in prison.
