  • They both deserve so much more for all they've given us. Can't even imagine what that would even be.

  • Thank U! I Love J.P. Patches And Gertrude.... Man I wish i was little again...

  • jp patches a real class act

  • I;ve heard about their knack for double entendre. I don't recall much of it myself from watching it as a kid, but I recall a number of laugh pauses b/n Chris & Bob, during which older family members were laughing too-& I had no idea what they were laughing at! Hats off to Wedes & Newman for keeping the show kid-friendly & adult sauve' at the same time.

  • You gave us all alot of great memories as the good guy.One of my favorites was the Bad guy... Boris S. Wart.

  • You made our lives brighter ! how can we ever repay you for the great memories ? we all love you so much J.P PATCHES & GERTRUDE !

  • Thank you! Thank You! Thank You!

  • Innocence is gone, it's all about how much money they can make these days. The true patches pals will never forget you. I watched him since 1957, my sister was on his show as a Blue Bird and as an adult Gertrude signed my cast. I'm so glad he finally got what he deserved a statue in the public eye. CONGRAT'S JP Patches and Gertrude

  • Way back in '66 I broke my left arm and wrote to J.P. Patches explaining the situation and he very kindly replied as well!!! Not only that, he sent me a photo of himself and mentioned the snafu on his ICU2 TV set. His chemistry with children is mind-bogglingly great indeed.

WE LOVE YOU JP AND GERTRUDE!!!!!!!!!

  • I love it!!!!!

  • @ColonelCuster My funniest memory of the show was when JP warned departing guests to watch out 4 the hole, & you hear the scream as they fall into it anyway. In an email, Wedes told me that a number of kids were afraid to leave because of the "hole". When 1 of the guests "fell in", his kids cried until he got home.

  • My wife loves J.P. Patches. She talks about him all the time. Its crazy!

  • Gosh. JP Patches!!!! I met him at the BON MARCHE IN '59. Dressed all in brown ... B/W tv days. Then I would rush home to see the afternoon show. He RULES!!! (and I am 55 yrs old now)

  • NO!!! THANK YOU! you 2 guys ruled seattle t.v. for the kids for sooo long. I wish that J.P. was still on the air doin the same crazy stuff.... but then again, every generation needs that one person. J.P. for me, is that one person who will always make me laugh, even if im cryin'. J.P. YOU WILL LIVE 4EVER AS LONG AS THE PALS ARE AROUND!!!!
