I really like overtone singing. There's really no problem with some goofy guy doing his best to bring it in to the mainstream, and, I mean, he's really good. Maybe there are a few directorial choices that shouldn't have been considered, though...the video is kinda silly.

overtone harmonics are fascinating. and just so you know, i bounced in here on a link while listening to some buzzy minimal techno in the same key (~128bpm), it sounded so right together that i just let the impromptu mix ride.

I usually learn really fast how to do certain sounds... chek out my overtone videos. I started with over tone singing two weeks ago... I do it pretty much every day automaticly
The sound isn't I agree, but using it within a song is a whole different beast. I can sing like this aswell in different ranges but trying to sing a song is a little beyond my reach at the moment.
The problem is that the body language wasn't done properly, and looked unnatural and false. They should have made a better effort at the choreography.
Not all cultures use the same body language. To 'them' it seems perfectly normal. Like when someone sings on stage for example. Should they just stand there with their hands in their pockets not to offend some in the crowd?

While the video does reek of some tasteless aesthetic choices, "shameful rape" are pretty strong words, especially because - ha ha ha - I'm pretty sure you mean "shameless." I would suggest that the people who made the video are not full of shame, and therefore not "shameful."

Strangely I can agree with that, and also I can not see how this Rollin Rachele could be "one of the world's leading authorities on the vocal art of overtone singing". He didn't get that impression from this video. I've seen other harmonic singing and Tuva throat singing videos and the performers there show more skill then Rollin...

overtone harmonics are fascinating. and just so you know, i bounced in here on a link while listening to some buzzy minimal techno in the same key (~128bpm), it sounded so right together that i just let the impromptu mix ride.

The sound isn't I agree, but using it within a song is a whole different beast. I can sing like this aswell in different ranges but trying to sing a song is a little beyond my reach at the moment.

The problem is that the body language wasn't done properly, and looked unnatural and false. They should have made a better effort at the choreography.
But the singing is AWESOME nonetheless.

Not all cultures use the same body language. To 'them' it seems perfectly normal. Like when someone sings on stage for example. Should they just stand there with their hands in their pockets not to offend some in the crowd?
