And this theme sucks on Lance, considering in his rematch, all of his Pokemon have a 4x weakness that are easily exploited (Ice, Rock, Electric).

Red, however, always puts up a fight. Plus he uses a Pikachu. Anyone who uses a Pikachu has guts.
