But but but - she's not related to any famous political family! She's not a foul-mouthed Hollywood celebrity! She's not even a billionaire! All she has to stand on is... you know... merit...(Democrats are outraged!)
She's a moderate who neither Democrats nor Republicans have a major problem with. She got into office on her own merit, hard work, whatever you want to call it. The only other major candidates were radical left-wing celebrities whose sole qualifications were "related to somebody famous".
I think most of the country is pretty impressed with the governor for ignoring the media hype around the celebrities and making a sensible choice. Do you disagree?
To be quite honest, I don't know enough about the other candidates to make an informed statement, I will say this though, having a good record with the NRA is generally not something I'm crazy about.
AFAIK the NRA's sole purpose is protection of the 2nd amendment. Unless you have a problem with the Bill of Rights, I can't see why her NRA endorsement would be a deal-breaker.
First off, what the hell is AFAIK??? Anyway, the NRA has many purposes, one is to make people bitter enough to always want guns. The others are to scare people into thinking they need guns, and also to gather racists into their group so they all have common personalities. Besides, I have no problem with the second amendment, I have a problem with people who can't get it through their thick skull that they don't need an AK47, and that M16s are not used to hunt deer.
AFAIK = as far as i know. M16s may not be used to hunt deer, but I hear they are excellent at shooting at the government. The reason we have a 2nd amendment is to protect all the other amendments. You don't have to be bitter or scared into buying guns... guns are fun!
You really think you need a gun to fight the government? Anyway, why don't you do it Gandhi's way? He had no guns and he overthrew the British Empire. Besides, there isn't going to be any "overthrowing of the gov." anytime soon, put down your tech 9 and tin foil hat and start thinking logically. Also, I wonder how fun the families of the children at Columbine and Virginia Tech think guns are. (ALL of the guns used at both of those tragedies were legally bought.)
Either you don't understand, or you're deliberately ignoring, the main arguments of gun rights supporters. If any of the other students or teachers at Columbine had had guns, many lives would have been saved. Anti-gun laws only make law-abiding citizens helpless. Criminals by definition do not respect laws.
Had the teachers had guns, the other students would have risked another student stealing that teacher's gun. Or what if that teacher lost her/his damn mind? Of course criminals don't respect the law, that is not the point I'm trying to make, the point is, it would be harder for them to get guns. Most of the guns used in acts of gun violence are legally purchased. Have you ever been in the inner city? To quote Dave Chappelle "Gun store, liquor store, gun store, gun store, oh shit I'm in the hood!"
First of all, when you took a wrong turn and were in the inner city for 3 minutes, you didn't become an expert, I LIVE IN THE INNER CITY!!! Secondly, most of the guns used in violent crimes ARE BOUGHT LEGALLY! Let me tell you how it works, a gangster buys a bunch of guns, waits outside, sells them to other gangsters, and leaves. Explain, how would more gun control make it easier to get a gun? Are you familiar with what happened in New Orleans after Katrina? With the white militias?
Not convinced, and what do you know about where I live? I could be a gangster (I'm not but you wouldnt know) Let me just tell you again how it depends on how stats get manipulated,
"how it works, a gangster buys a bunch of guns, waits outside, sells them "
THIS IS NOT A LEGAL WAY. See? stats always favor the person who wants the results...just look at all the ways your new president used them in his campaign.
That isn't the ONLY way it works, the columbine shootings, Virginia tech shooting, etc. were done with legally bought guns. BTW I thought left wing conspiracy theorists were nuts, but right wingers are even crazier. LOL. I heard one of your kind talking about how Obama was the anti Christ. LOL, go clutch your ak47 and your bible. Also, not everybody in the ghetto is a gangster, don't stereotype, and I know your not a gangster because gangsters don't spend time on youtube. Idiot. lol.
You're not from the inner city cracker, don't lie to me. Anyway, that is why I said that I thought I think left wing conspiracy theorists are crazy too, don't message me back, you are unintelligent and generally a waste of my time.
Yea she freaks out the gun grabbers! Carolyn McCartney has her panties in a twist because it's going to be harder for her to grab all the guns in New York State.
Short answer Worrier is they ain't proving anything regular people get tattoos too. I like mine it looks sweet i chose it because it reminds me of where i grew up. You might as well be advocating hair gel, gym, jewelery and makeup control. Hell even Barack Obama was wearing that flag pin what was he trying to prove? Tattoos aren't just for criminals and celebrities no matter what mother taught you growing up.
There's a difference between a flag pin and a tattoo. As a presidential candidate, President Obama had to wear that flag pin, otherwise it would seem awkward and the media was all over him for not wearing one. During former President Bush's eight years as president, he was wearing a flag pin, therefore President Obama should too. It's called being politically correct.
I see a lot of jackasses at my gym who have tattoos just to act like they're tough. I'm not putting you down ipxzor, I'm putting those jackasses who get tattoos to show off, impress they're so called friends, or try and act tough down. Those kind of people are deep down insecure.
An alcoholic was the president for 8 years. Larry Craig was a closet queen cheating on his wife while preaching family values. Don't tell me Bill and Hillary never smoked any green when they were in college. This chick has a picture on her skin wow thats soooo inappropriate.

I can certainly understand why Gov.Paterson chose Kristen Gillibrand, she's from Upstate New York, young and she's a conservative. That said, she's a disgusting record on Gun control and rights. And that fact that she's a conservative blue dog won't play in NYC and the surrounding suburbs like LI, Westchester, Rockland and Dutchess.
Nationally, the Democratic party is moving away from gun control as it has cost them votes. In my state, my Dem Senator is against gun control and keeps winning. We have excessive crime too.
so what if she supports gun rights nobody should agree with the party line on every issue.and democrats always seem to forget that many democrats especially in flyover country like guns too.democrats and guns are like republicans and abortion.they both just have to go with their more radical base for some reason,it's like crack to them, they just can't help themselves despite having an EPIC FAIL every time they touch it

Most of all I loathe her fanatical pro-hunting position, and tax-funded subsidies to promote hunting, the pork she put in the farm bill, and her support of the disgustingly mis-named H.R. 2016 which effectivly seeks to turn all public land into game parks. She embrasses all upstaters
"Ms. Kennedy was another Palin....she just was not ready......that's why......"
Unlike Palin, she was actually quite intelligent. Just because she wasn't best for the job does not mean that she warranted comparisons with Palin. When Palin obtains a doctorate in law after graduating in the top 10% of her class, perhaps then we can return to the comparison. Until then, I think it isn't fitting.
I wasn't making suggestions that she had the same intelligence as Palin.....I was just saying that she just was not ready for the job.......no maker how horrible Palin was on the national scene, she did get elected mayor and governor,,,,,,small city...sparcely populated state.....but high office none the less.....if Caroline had worked on this just 6mths to a year ago she would be a shoe in....but her public speaking recently gave people pause...after Obama the bar has been raised.....
prideventures, I agree with you about lack of readiness for the job. However, the past eight years and this election cycle have convinced me that intelligence is more important than experience.
