Amazing how the most negative people on the planet love to comment about things they know nothing about. You're wrong, it's not mostly downhill, it's mostly flat, slight uphills and slight downhills. These are real pros, and the pacelining is very well demonstrated. That what this is, a demonstration!!! This is not an official team time-trial...what is wrong w you....
You did get the "views" part correct, they are nice.
How do you get into a cycling team anyway? Like a good one not just a community...of cyclist that are filled with old people. I've been cycling for only 1-2 years now. But I'm also only 17. It gets kinda boring / lonely when you're out riding by yourself sometimes.
I have only been a cyclist for maybe 8 or 9 months but I have gone decently far with it. My first races are with my collegiate team in less than 2 months!!! That said I still fail at pacelining, I just seem stronger when I'm off the front. Just gotta hope I'll be able to hold my own when everyone wants to chase me down!
@jdawg4334 Well looking at your previous comment, it pretty clear that you are not a cyclist and to put it simple, a paceline is a formation used by cyclist of a same team(and sometimes of different teams) to go faster by take advantage of the slipstream of the guy in front. It is used in TTT(team time trial) and in massive sprints.
@jdawg4334 well looking at your previous comment it's pretty clear you're not a cyclist.
So to put it simple, a paceline is a formation used by a group of cyclists(of the same or of different teams) to go faster by taking the advantage of the slipstream of the guy in front, so they form a straight line or a diagonal(depending on the wind) and each rider takes a more or less long relay at the front.
@vinesen1 well, judging by your comment, its pretty clear that youre a prejudice, overbearingly assuming person.
ive been a cyclist for 2 and a half years (i know its not much, but still, dont be so quick to judge) and am very serious about it. i have just never joined a team / ridden with a group for more than 10 miles before, so im not really up to date with all of the different riding techniques cycling teams use.
but thankyou for the information you have provided me.
@jdawg4334 OK you are right , i should not have judge you.
Sorry for that mate!!
Well let me confess that i have personally been a cyclist for less that you(something like 2 years now). BUT i am a cycling fans since ever, so i do a LOT of research on that and try to find out on just about every aspect of this GREAT SPORT .
@vinesen1 agreed. :] cycling is awesome!! and yea man, i understand, i do the same thing to people on youtube also, sorry if i responded a little hostilely. and again, thanks for the info. :] ride forever!!!
The start of this vid is da best part of this vid! mens butts in spandex is da best thing about cycling! these guys have great butts! male cyclists have the best butts! im jealous of the person who got to film these guys hott butts from behind! the butts are the main thing i focus on in male cycling vids! and in real life on bike!!!
@pollomecanico On the open road, the team is practicing for a race situation. In a race situation, a rival rider or group of riders may be up the road ahead of this team. Riding in this formation is the fastest way of catching anything ahead of you. It's also the best way to prevent anything behind you from catching up or passing.
This is NOT a good example of a paceline. For one thing, your turn at the front should not be ten turns of the crank. To get a good rhythm going, and to let the riders rest a bit, the pull at the front should be around 30 seconds or so. aAlso, if you watch the pros in Europe, they don't really adhere to any fast rules. They just go fast!
@benbinder93 Only if you can achieve the same body position and without poking your elbows out into the air. So to definitively say that riding the hoods is more aero is just not correct.
Man, what I wouldn't do for a road like the PCH. Up here in Colorado we've got zero shoulders and 12,000 ft passes in the way in every direction. Can't beat the descents though.
